Knight-Relictor Actinus, one of the few survivors of an all but destroyed chamber, searches his faith for a reason to continue. Machaera Dawnstar, a fearless Knight-Judicator, finds her vaulting ambition no match for the desperate rigours of combat.
With Vandus Hammerhand himself at the head of the expedition into the Great Parch, these vaunted Stormcast must learn what it truly means to be First Forged.

A bit of a slow burner at first, but with excellent world building and character development we’ve come to expect from Richard Strachan. An interesting tale of Stormcast Eternals with far more personality and unique character than what we would normally see. The cons would be the fact that we don’t get as much insight into the antagonists character.
Overall an interesting read, well worth your time.
This was poignant and epic. There is an internal look at city and strategic power games. The main draw is the developed characters in an absolutely hellacious battle. The battle was pulse pounding and great fun. More battles!
An absolute fantastic book and the perfect place to start with AOS lore. Not too crunchy with realms and old world history, just who everyone is and why there is a conflict. Great book.
