Three years ago, Tipti left her home to become the apprentice of the local librarian on remote Elleinad island. As a gift before parting, her brother gave her a mysterious book that had been in their family's protection for generations. Tipti's world changed the day the airship arrived. Only then did she begin to fathom the book's importance - or the lengths that some would go through to acquire it.
I really like children's books anyway...and I'm adding this one to my favorites. I didn't know that this book was the first in a series of 5 by Jeremy but I knew when I came to the end, that something was left untold. I have a suspicion about Tipti's closest relative who shows up in a strange place after all of her adventure.
The characters in the story are well constructed and most of the scenes were easy to follow...except for that contraption that was being built on the island's edge. Okay, this is a review. I won't tell the whole story. I'll just say that I can't wait for Part II.
This book started out strong but the ending was very abrupt. Overall, it was a heartwarming book with full characters and relationships. This is a good book for anyone who likes to read young adult fiction. If you liked Inkheart, you will like this quick read.
