When I began writing, it started as a form of escapism. When I began typing, it was as a result of a ploy by a high school English teacher to get me to use 'new' technology: a laptop. The thing was monstrous and looked more like a foldup card table than the sleek little Mac laptop I write most of my stories on these days. Ironically, I wrote the first draft of my first novel, NEMESIS, on that old laptop.

Fast forward a couple of decades and I've got a few books out there, including NEMESIS in its final polished incarnation. My English teacher would be so proud. Maybe.

I write under several pseudonyms, including Suzanne Madron, James Glass, and Xircon.

My new hobby is to take pictures and get autographs of anyone who might recognize me.

Do you miss those angst-ridden role-playing games from the 90s?
I do. Not as an actual player, but as a reader of their settings and atmosphere, in which classical monsters took the leading role and had us experience their world of darkness.
Nemesis has that same kind of spirit, and more.
A dreamscape unfolds before our eyes as we experience the story of three different entities, so different from us, yet still human in their passion.
The story bounces from dimension - or worlds, if you prefer - to another, allowing the reader to enjoy the reaction of these creatures in different times and settings (I especially liked the part set in Gothic New York City).

The plot is full of twists, and many questions are left open for the reader to discover in the series next installment. And that's good to me, as I have been witness of too many series revealing the whole plot from the first novel.

Suzy M reveals to be an excellent storyteller, never letting her author's voice invade the drama, but summoning up image after image in a stylish and evocative mood.

I'll surely buy the next one in the series, as I want to know what happens to these angst-ridden characters for whom I can only feel sympathy in their romantic (in the way of Percy B. Shelley and Lord Byron) threesome.

I'm going to jump out of the box a bit here and review my own work - I mean honestly.

This was the first 'book' I wrote. I was 17 when I finished it, in high school, and the book's first incarnation took 9 months to write. I'm happy to say it took 13 years to edit and rewrite into something acceptable for print.

Is it my favorite of the series? No. This is not to say I don't like it, mind. I do like it, a lot, and it has a lot of good elements. I think it was a good first book effort for me. It has a good introduction to the characters, gives a little background history for them, and hints at deeper meanings. Folks who have read it have given some positive reviews, and I thank them for their kind words. It is my hope that those who read it walk away with more than just a vampire horror impression, because it goes much deeper than that.

Suzi M has created a dreamlike tale of supernatural suffering: NEMESIS, an eternal pursuit across time of vampires, demons, old gods, and one mortal man. Ms. M's characters move through doorways of time, emerging into shifting worlds, driven by deisre and disgust, lust and longing. At times the drama plays out in the Goth subcultures of a metropolis. Then, passing through centuries in an instant, the immortals wander through the ancient castle of a god, set into a mountainous wilderness. In other subterranean visions, they pitch their battles in apocalyptic worlds of fire and ruin.

Nemesis, consumed with a desperate mad love for the beautiful Lamia, yearns for a union that is as dangerous as it is desirable. The subterranean conflict plays out between these two creatures who hate as much as they love, who destroy and heal in equal measure, sharing anger and desire in an endless psychodrama. Mr. M has conjured beautiful, ruined immortals, who suffer as no mortal could endure, on an eternal quest for union with the objects of their desire: each other.

This novel was an enjoyable read. The title character, the pale and imposing Nemesis, is hot -- and so are the erotic moments between Nemesis and his lover, Lamia. I look forward to the rest of the series!

Very interesting 'love' story between a vampire, a demon and a warlock that has twists and turns and dimensions all wrapped up in a story that interplays between different times.

The scenes are dynamic and the story is entertaining. Suzi M realy knows how to weave a compelling tale and to think this was a first novel is amazing.

I really enjoyed this story and look forward to the others in the series.
