When I began writing, it started as a form of escapism. When I began typing, it was as a result of a ploy by a high school English teacher to get me to use 'new' technology: a laptop. The thing was monstrous and looked more like a foldup card table than the sleek little Mac laptop I write most of my stories on these days. Ironically, I wrote the first draft of my first novel, NEMESIS, on that old laptop.
Fast forward a couple of decades and I've got a few books out there, including NEMESIS in its final polished incarnation. My English teacher would be so proud. Maybe.
I write under several pseudonyms, including Suzanne Madron, James Glass, and Xircon.
My new hobby is to take pictures and get autographs of anyone who might recognize me.
Nemesis had me charmed with angst and passion. Lamia fulfilled my need for action and rage. The first installment of the Immortal War Trilogy introduced us to the ‘spiritual’ universe conceived by this author, with ancient gods (seen under a different light) and mythological creatures set in a Gothic urban setting. This second novel almost abandons all trappings and sends us to the underworld to be witness to the extreme love triangle between Nemesis, Lamia, and Michael. Dark humor, torture scenes, and sex, add deepness to characters we have started to love – and despise, such as the Warlock – as more background is revealed. I enjoyed LAMIA even more than NEMESIS and will surely read the next, final chapter in the trilogy: THE TOWER.
Not so much what I learned or what I thought of it. I wrote it, so I feel for this book as a mother might feel for a child.... a really sick and twisted kid.
