Prison gave me a new outlook on life. After my release, I moved to a tiny West Virginia town, joined the Rawkfist Motorcycle Club, and met the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.
Now I have a shot to make Poppy mine. Will I screw things up? Oh, no doubt, but Poppy and I click in all the right ways. No other woman makes my heart beat as fast or my dick get as hard as the blonde snark machine of my dreams.
Train Wreck contains graphic sexual content, violent situations, and harsh language. The book is only appropriate for adult readers age 18+.
I'm a huge Bijou fan and I love most (but not all) of her work. The main exceptions being 'Gator' which I just couldn't read, no matter how many times I tried and 'Sunday Morning' which wasn't anywhere near the book I was hoping for. Now Bijou's books are character driven, full of sparkling dialogue and sarcastic biting humour. If you're looking for a deep complicated plot with twists and turns you won't find it here, her strength lies in the people she creates, flaws and all. They have a very real quality as they live their normal totally unglamorous lives. I absolutely loved 'Black Sheep' it was Bijou at her very best and while 'Snake Charmer' wasn't as good (for me anyway) I was really looking forward to 'Train Wreck' I adored Poppy in the previous books and from the second he was mentioned we knew Emmett was the man for Poppy and she wasn't going to make it easy on him. With all this in mind I'm sorry and a little shocked to say this didn't really work for me. Were my expectations just too high? Maybe so but it was more than that, while I love Bijou's style and humour this book was so similar to the previous two. While you could argue a lot of her books are similar (similar characters, relationships and humour) and they are it's somehow not the same and I've been trying to work out what went wrong. It's usually a larger 'cast' a bigger town, more friends etc whereas this was a very small close group and the sisters were so alike and so were their men. I knew about the age gap in advance and that wasn't a problem, quite the opposite in fact or that would have been the case but at times Poppy was just too immature and silly for these two to really work as a couple for me and I while I kept telling myself that she's only young she was still eighteen and some of her behaviour just grated on me. This is not a bad book and I'm reluctant to only give 3/3.5* since it was funny and entertaining in places but overall it was disappointing despite the lovely epilogue which tempted me to give more but I'm standing firm. If you've not read a Bijou book before below is an example of what to expect:
“Peepaw?” I whisper, sounding ready to pee myself. The old man’s eyes pop open. “What in the f*** are you three doing in here? Ever heard of knocking?” “Huh?” I ask. The monster under the sheet wiggles upward before its head appears. “Perverts,” Coretta grumbles. Okay, I’m the first to admit screaming isn’t particularly necessary or helpful. No doubt a more mature and less troublemaking woman would have better handled finding her meemaw orally serving her peepaw. I’m not that woman, and I pray I never will be. “My eyes!” Justice cries next to me now. “How is this legal?” I ask. Journey shakes her head. “Forget man’s law. How is this not against God’s will? I’m surprised lightning hasn’t struck the hospital yet.” Coretta responds to our horror by crawling up her ex-husband like a horny spider. Her recently occupied lips meet his, and they begin dry humping. At least, I hope it’s dry. “Stop screaming,” Journey tells me when I let out another horrified wail. “They just destroyed my corneas!” Justice announces. “Soon, my eyeballs will liquefy!” “Look away!” I cry, turning Journey toward the door. “This is a Raiders of the Lost Ark-level of Biblical punishment. Soon, our faces will melt away. No offense, but you’re not sexy enough to live without a face.” “I’m pretty certain I could keep my man without a face,” Justice says, feigning blindness as she feels for the doorway. “With that haircut?” I mock, instantly pissing off Justice enough for her to regain her eyesight. “It’s a miracle!” I cry when she takes a solid swipe at me.
I knew that I was going to love Poppy and Emmett's book and I was right. Emmett is quite a bit older than Poppy and the first time they meet, she is only 16. Emmett tells her that night that he's coming for her in two years. This book begins just before those 2 years are up. They have spent time together in those years but not too much and never really crossed any lines.
One thing I loved was that although they both waited during that time, Poppy still didn't give it up to Emmett on the first date. She made him work at least a "little" bit for it. While I adored Emmett and his love for Poppy, she is still the one that stole the show for me. It is rare that I like a heroine more than the hero but that was the case here. Not by much mind you, but a bit. When Poppy loves, it is with her whole heart and a loyalty that is second to none. She is so freaking hilarious and witty that I was laughing out loud many times throughout this story.
Emmett is an ex-con and not the brightest of men. He is also loyal to the core. He had never loved another woman or had a real relationship in all of his life. He will do anything to be the man for Poppy. He knows that they were absolutely meant to be together forever.
“I love you, Poppy Adams. I’m the only man that’ll love you right. I’m it and this is it. Do you understand?”
We also get to catch up with the rest of the family from the first two books. There is two epilogues that extend out 10 years so we get a look at the life that all of these characters have built. If you're looking for something funny, full of family, and has a great romance, then this is the book for you.
What can I say I have fallen hard for this wacky difunctional crazy family. They claimed a piece of my heart and they are so memorable. I loved this book but I knew I would Poppy has been one of a kind since book one but after book two I knew her book would be one of a kind and I was not wrong. This book was so fun and funny but also Emmet was so sweet and in love with Poppy and her with Emmet that I couldn't help but fall in love with them both. This book is the prefect ending to a great fun and funny series.
We saw in book two that Emmet set his sights on Poppy but Poppy was still too young so Emmet has waited two years and now with Poppy's eighteenth birthday looming Poppy knows Emmet will soon come looking to claim the woman he wants. Once emmet saw Poppy he knew she was one of a kind and perfect for him so Emmet did something he has never done before he waited for his girl to be ready. Now that she is Emmet will stop at nothing to claim not only Poppy but her heart.
Falling in love is easier for them both than they ever thought possible but everything else isn't so easy with the MC restless and ready for a change and problems from Emmets past set on causing issues everything isn't as easy as their love for each other. As everyone grows ands families change one thing will always stay the same and thats the love that Emmet and Poppy have for each other.
I loved this book, I couldn't have been happier and I was waiting for this book. I couldn't wait to see how it all turned out and I loved every minute. Emmet was so sweet, he was head over heals in love with Poppy and a all around great guy, Poppy is loud and opinionated but she loves fiercely and with everything she is and has. The family was hilarious, but would you expect anything else, I loved seeing Jared and Poppy's relationship it was so sweet seeing his protectiveness for her and their love for each other, especially seeing that he loves her just like his natural children.
I loved seeing everyone from the previous books and catching up with them. I also was so happy to see a conclusion to Jared and Christine's story. We also get to see their crazy PeePaw and Meemaw and they just added more crazy and funny into this book. I really loved this one it was just what I needed and I can't recommend it enough. Bijou Hunter always seems to find new ways to hook us as readiers and make things new and fresh, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
I will not be giving away the storyline here but I will say that this book had some very cute and funny moments. However, to me it did sound a little familiar, somehow.
I can't even say loved the characters, they are too immature for me. Their whole relationship was bizarre and strange. Basically I was like...
So while I enjoyed parts of this book, I would be lying to say I loved it. It was funny and I guess the humor was hit and miss. Sometimes, I thought it was insulting, and downright mean.
But, what killed my 5 stars rating was the fact that it was sooooo bloody long for NOTHING! Honestly, how I even finished it is beyond me. Nonetheless, I was distracted and it was cute at the end with the sweet epilogue 10 years later. So it's left me like this
Also, after some careful consideration, I have come to the realization that this author is not for me. I didn't like the way she wrote about their relationship, chemistry, or even their intimacy. There was something off about that for me. Honestly, if I thought about it I would rate it lower. However, for the few OTT funny moments I had during this book I will give it 3.5. But it's more a 2.5 star read for me.

Safety is okay but with the hero being a "reluctantly" reformed manwhore and the heroine being a virgin, I can't say I loved it. No cheating once they are together.
DNF'd at chapter 27 when I found out he was in his thirties and she had only just turned 18
Plus the banter was bordering annoying because the h was so clearly immature (but I was not expecting her to be mature at 18). I had hoped the h was older in this romance.
I have been waiting for Poppy to get her story since her older sisters have gotten their HEAs and she added her own comedy to their stories. Poppy is still her old snarky self, only she is falling in love, and in her first relationship to boot. When the sisters are together, really the whole family, they crack me up with their shenanigans. The development of this relationship was interesting to watch. She is her stubborn self and doesn't give in too easily to becoming a them. He has a lot of patience waiting for his her craziness and for her to become his. He just seems to get her. I liked that. They get their happy ending. She did at times kind of annoy me. I must admit that my annoyance kind of started to detract me from enjoying their story. This was just an okay read for me, though at times it was cute. I wasn't able to connect with this couple and their story as much as the prior couples. The age difference was only a small blip to me. Their behavior at times annoyed me because they came off as a little not too bright and sometime immature. Overall, it was an okay read for me. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Emmett knew that Poppy was going to be his the first day he met her, however she was only sixteen and he needed to wait until she was old enough to know what she wanted. Poppy never wavered nor did she have a problem teasing Emmett along the way, Emmett manned up though and was patient. Now that she is eighteen he is letting Poppy set the pace and Poppy doesn't disappoint, he knows life with Poppy will always keep him on his toes and he knows that Poppy will always have her family close, it is a package deal. Emmett will do anything to keep Poppy happy but when a blast from his past interrupts their new found bliss, Emmett will do everything to keep Poppy safe.
Loved this, not sure if this is the end of the series or if their will be more to come. I love the sisters in this series, Poppy is a bit of an old quirky cranky soul and I thought Emmett was the perfect match. I also thoroughly enjoyed Jared in this book and his relationship with Poppy, he is not her father but is a hoot. Great series and another fun filled book.
I received a copy from Ms. Hunter for a honest review. I have read the complete series and could not wait for Poppy's story. I was amazed with what always came out of Poppy's mouth. And Poppy and Emment's story was no different. If you liked Poppy's quick wit and funny comeback you will enjoy this book. The book was entertaining from beginning to the end. The interaction between the sisters was as funny as every. And Ms. Hunter throw some great romps in the hay for Poppy and Emmett. And let's not forget the support cast Stash, Zed and all the animals.
Well here we are in the final book of the Rawkfist MC, series and I have to say I'm sad that there are no more sisters to read about. Train Wreck is Poppy and Emmett's story and it did not disappoint, in fact like the previous two books I loved these characters, they're so funny and lovable that I don't want to change a thing. I love that Poppy and the mouth on her, and I love that Emmett is toughie but also a softie, it's a great combination and they really work together as a couple. There are few bumps along the way but nothing off putting and it was wonderful to catch up with the rest of the family. There are so many scenes that had me laughing, that I really tried not to rush this story. One of the things I love about Bijou's stories is that I can read them over and over again, and this story is the same.
I received an arc for an honest review but I will also be buying this one.
Out of all three sisters Poppy was so annoying toward Justice and Journey in their books that I am surprised her story turned out to be my favourite (probably because she grew up). The laugh out loud scenes involving Meemaw and Peepaw were unexpected, and Jared's presence in the background all the time made him grow on me a little (read: a lot). I also enjoyed the side romance between Jared and Christine finally coming together (their Kroger incident was the best moment in Black Sheep).
If Bijou ever makes a Kickstarter to turn this book into a live action film, I will work for free to help make that happen. 😁
Definitely not your typical MC romance book, but get ready for plenty of laughs with an interesting family. Great Grandparents who fight and hate each other but end up getting it on now and again, sisters who stand together but love to complete and fight, an MC Brotherhood with more than a few people you'd be interested in meeting. This is one book that will keep your interest and make you laugh, well worth your time to read.
I kept trying to slog through this, but finally gave up at about halfway through and DNF’d. The banter between all the characters was just terrible and juvenile, and the heroine came across like an utter child - which is understandable since she had just turned 18, but then we find out the hero is somewhere in his thirties so it made the situation even worse. Just didn’t get anything about this story and “romance” at all, and the writing style just made it that much more insufferable.
I haven't been disappointed yet with one Bijou's books I love the entire Rawkfist series but I have to say Poppy and Emmet's was the best. I just love Poppy her character is the funniest out of all the sisters. Happy Reading!
It was a wonderful read. I laughed so hard I had tears. Poppy is a amazing character to read. This book had great characters and a wonderful story line. It was a pleasure to read. The whole series is great. Rated very good
I really enjoyed this book. It wrapped everything up nicely for the sisters. Not as much suspense or action as the other 2 books, but I loved it all the same.
I was not as enamored with Poppy and Emmett as with the other four characters in this series. However she held her own and Emmett loved her. All in all it was a decent story.

So I was so excited for this book, after reading about Poppy in the first two books.
Poppy is everything I would want in a little sister, sarcastic, weird and loyal. She comes a cross as a little witch to those who don't know her but to her small inner circle she has their backs.
You could read this as a standalone as it has enough back story, but why would you want to? It's book 3 in a series about strong independent women who know what they want.
Poppy and her love interest meet when she is 16 and he vows to get her when she's older, that being said he looks out for her until she turns 18 and poppy decides to finally let Emmett catch her, it's big game of cat and mouse and Emmett decides he's going to win. A specially as poppy knows what she wants.
Emmett is a part of Poppy's family's biker club but the biker part is in the background the books focus on the leading ladies.
If you love romance with a splash of drama and hot Alpha males who know what they want, with lots of comedy and snarky one liners this book is for you.
I can't do this lady justice, on how much I love Bijou's work, for me she's a one click ALWAYS. I've re-read her work a million times and I still laugh at the snark.
I was given a copy for an honest opinion and these are my thoughts. Brilliant I can't wait for more of this author's stories.
I have read all of Bijou's books and I've loved the Rawkfist MC series so much. The humor in these books with this family is off the charts and laugh out loud worthy. Poppy has been one of my favorites since the first book and I'm so happy to have her story. Poppy & Emmett are adorable together even though he's older he knows Poppy is the woman for him and waits patiently for two years. I love the banter between them but there's nothing like the banter between the three sisters Journey, Justice and Poppy. Through in mom Christine and the grandparents and it's non stop hilarity. Let me just say the hospital scene is priceless. We get a glimpse of all the family members lives and it's great to have a little of them in the Epilogue. Another great book by Bijou and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next time.
