I found much of this engrossing and informative. The lists of (to me) unfamiliar mythical and historical figures and places became a bit indigestible at times. But it has become a springboard for further investigations into Mesopotamian cultures, for example. The evidence for Perry's fundamental thesis is compelling. All in all a very enriching experience.
