Can a person find true love more than once? Roman “Blue” Bluette doesn’t think so until she comes along. Zanetta is a smart, non-traditional woman who believes that women rule the world. She also believes in love but it seems to elude her until he comes along. Blue’s Beauty is a journey of love lost, love found and redemption.
“You don’t have to earn anything from me. If I have it. I will freely give it to you.” 💙🦋
Bailey’s most recent release Whip N Fade led me to Zanetta and Roman and after indulging in what I consider to be two amazing reads, 🗣️ I 👏🏽AM 👏🏽A 👏🏽FAN!!! I meeeaannnnnn what a beautifully captivating LOVE story!! This was everything and these characters are now mines as much as they are Bailey’s.
I don’t usually go back this far into an authors catalog because you can almost instantly tell that it’s older work however this story aged really well. Like REALLY WELL! One of my book besties has been trying to get me to read Bailey for some time now and I’m kicking myself for taking so long but also happy because I know I am in for an absolute treat as I prepare to dive into the rest of her catalog.
Zannetta and Blue had very different walks of life however their faith led them to each other. They were ordained not only in ministry but also in Love! Roman temporarily lost faith in everything after enduring a major loss and while piecing his life back together, Zanetta came along and showered him with a love that he never knew could exist. I could literally feel their mutual love, infatuation and obsession for each other jumping off the pages.
These two took me on a journey that I won’t soon forget. The familial aspect of the book was amazing!! The sister/brotherhood was everything. I cannot think of a single thing that could have made this story better than it already is…. Perfection!
This was the slowest of slow burns. I mean think of the slowest burning love story you’ve read and slow that down even further. But with that slow burn we got to experience courting, stolen kisses, physical touch, acts of services, gifts, words of affirmation and quality time all in the purest most unadulterated forms. An amplifier must’ve been hooked up to this book because all of those things were LOUD!! Zanetta and Blue completely stole my heart and they can keep it. 💙💙
🎶Love, Those who have faith in you sometimes go astray Love, Through all the ups and downs the joy and hurt Love, For better or worse I still will choose you first🎶
This is the biggest understatement, but this was absolutely, most definitely, amazingly so beautiful. I loved every single page of this. It was just so romantic, so deep, so religious, so sexy, so inspiring. I don't know which brother I liked best. Roman is a pastor. He had recently experienced the ultimate heartbreak, and it left him broken and spiraling in a way a pastor shouldn't. Then he met Zanetta, and his life was forever changed. Yes, exactly how you're thinking. They fell passionately in love. But it was so much more than that. Zanetta was an angel. Although she didn't come with as much brokenness as Roman did, she did come with some issues concerning her heart. She was a mighty woman of God, a prayer warrior and the sweetest person ever. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She does everything with heart, with kindness, with love, and most importantly, Jesus. Her and Roman's slow burn romance, from the courting to the dating, to the first kisses, to the HEA, will give you all the feels and butterflies. Bailey's stories always manage to somehow encourage you and make you blush at the same time. I dare you to read this series and not feel inspired or encouraged. She intricately incorporates Jesus and the Gospel in her stories, and it ends up leaving you refreshed. But I would not consider this a Christian romance. But now I've developed a love for the whole "pastors falling in love" trope, thanks to Bailey. I enjoyed this series and am sad that it's over. I wished there were 5 more Bluette brothers.
Mrs. West...this is my first read by you and I am thoroughly impressed. You touched basis on just about everything that many “church folk” experience especially those that are in a position of power. Being a Christian doesn’t mean we’re dead, it means we’re human and are bound to make mistakes just like others, and yes we do have sex, or children out of wedlock. I laughed, I cried and I even wanted to slap the taste out of a few mouths. Thank you for such an incredible, redeeming story about love and life. Now on to book 2.
My first story by author Bailey West and I a blown away! I have to admit that I have had this book on my Kindle since 2017 **sighs** I did a huge purge of my Kindle and this book was one of the few books left. I opened it up and am so glad that I did.
Roman Bluette is a Christian man, songwriter, pastor and now a widower. He lost his first wife Michaela to cancer. And no matter how hard he prayed, fasted, interceded, begged God. The Lord still called her home and with that, he turned his back on God, his family and his friends. He wanted nothing to do with God because Roman couldn't understand how he could have done that to him. But God is about to turn Roman's whole world upside down.
Zanetta Belle and her brother Xavier were raised by their aunt and uncle, after their parents died. Zanetta is a minister of the gospel, loves God, loves her family, friends especially her best friend Zora since they were kids. But the one thing that eluded Zanetta is love, each man she was interested in has turned out to be frogs. Zanetta doesn't realize that the plan that God has for her is about to come to fruition.
I have read Christian romance before and it was good but not great. Author Bailey West has captured the true meaning of what it means to be in a relationship and a Christian. There was no religious philosophy, no crazy gospel weirdness. She just wrote an incredible story that Christians and Non-Christians can relate to. It was just so on point and so beautiful that I couldn't put the story down. I have since purchased "Ezekial's Passion" and "Paxton's Peace" because I have now found a new author that I enjoy her writing.
I really enjoyed this book. Few of my fellow book lovers (aka sister girlfriends who love to read) suggested this book and I am happy I clicked to download my copy. Awesome story, cast of characters and the book was just authentic with character development and to top it off the hero and heroine chemistry. I can't not wait for the next book in this series to drop. Yes it is a series book which I love especially when I fall in love with the characters and support cast. Kudos Bailey West.
Roman Bluette is a songwriter and man of the cloth, who is mourning the loss of his wife. His hurt and anger, result in him turning his back on God and the church. The day he decides to end it all is the day he accepts an invitation to church. A woman prays for him and essentially breathes new breath into Roman. Filled with new purpose and determination, love is the last thing on his mind, until...he meets Minister Zaneta Belle.
Zanetta Belle, has experienced tragedy in her short lifetime as well, but has found passion and purpose in being a personal stylist and now...ministry. Love has not been kind to her either, until...she meets Pastor Bluette aka Blue.
What starts off as a chance meeting, turns into so much more. A beautiful love story blossoms between Blue and Nette, and it is nothing short of amazing. I cried many tears reading this book. Each milestone in their relationship allowed me to learn things about myself and slowly chip away at the invisible wall surrounding my heart. No matter how much you’ve been hurt, don’t be afraid to give love another chance.
I also loved the underlying theme of brotherhood in this book. The next two installments of the Bluette Men Series allows the reader to step into the world of Ezekiel and Paxton, and I am so here for it!
I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎 book by @authorbaileywest, and look forward to reading more.
I bought this book after hearing the author give an interview on social media. Everyone tuned in said the book was basically amazing and had nothing but raving things to say about it. Their feedback intrigued me yet made me nervous because books are often not that good when everyone says they are. Well, as I wrong here because Blue's Beauty was all of that.
Death, heartbreak, guilt, anger, and sadness all play a part in Blue's journey. If we are all being honest then we all have had a time or two that we were "mad" at God and questioned Him for whatever reason. Blue's story is one that takes an emotional rollercoaster and West delicately tells it. And, then there is Zanetta. There's so much to say and learn from this character with the main being what it means to truly walk in your purpose.
Blue's Beauty is such a wonderful love story on so many levels. It showcases one's love for self, one's love for another both platonic and romantic, and one's love for God. It is a story of redemption, healing and restoration. It also highlights just how vital it is to have people in your circle that encourage you when you have given up on yourself. This was my first time reading Bailey West and it definitely won't be my last!
OMG! This was an excellent read. This book had me experiencing many emotions. I have cried, laughed and even got angry. The author did a great job with writing this story and connecting you with the characters. This is my first read by this author but it will not be my last. I can't wait to read more about those Bluette men.
So I just met Bailey West, and I bought this entire series. I have to say Blue's Beauty was so refreshing. I fell in love with Blue and Zanette, they both had me in tears and smiling and just loving them. I can't wait to see what Zeke have to say (heart eyes)!!! Amazing job Bailey
First time reading this author and looking forward to more. I really enjoyed this book. Blue and Nette were the perfect couple. This story was full of surprises and will hold your interest. Looking forward to Zeke's story.
Blue’s Beauty (Bluette Men #1) by Bailey West is about Roman “Blue” Bluette and Zanetta Belle. Roman is the son of a pastor, when we meet him he’s a young boy that loves music and falls for the new girl at school. The beginning of the story is so sweet and then gut wrenching. Something so heartbreaking happens that he loses his faith and himself! When all hope is thought to be lost, a message from God breathes new life into him. When Blue and Zanetta meet they’re not looking for anything, Blue hasn’t been in a relationship in years and Zanetta is “dating” someone. But they can’t help the instant attraction, especially Blue! He does what he needs to do to get Zanetta to Houston. Zanetta is intelligent, motivated, stylish, successful and devoted to expanding the Kingdom so she made it easy. I don’t think it’s a surprise that Pastor Roman and Minister Belle have commonalities but the way they are in sync is divine. Zanetta and Blue are in tune with each other, on a faith based level. Their families are so connected and are really supportive of them. It was faith that they met when they did! This is a sweet romance, you’ll love the characters. The word of God is present and a vital part of the story. But let me be frank these characters are human so with waiting until marriage there were a few close calls 😮💨
P.s. I’ve reread this book several times over the years and enjoyed it!
CW ~ cancer, death of a spouse, death of parents, grief
How does one overcome tragedy, heartbreak, heartache and despair? In Roman's case all he needed was a word. This book takes you on an incredible journey of healing, restoration, and love. I absolutely loved the journey. I loved the journey and chemistry between Roman and Zanetta. This was a wonderful debut for this author and I look forward to seeing what she has coming next.
This was an amazing semi-secular story. I enjoyed the storyline and the way the author developed each character fully. The story was not preachy or in your face religious. I liked the Bluette brothers on all levels. Zanette was a powerful character with spunk, sweetness and a love of sports. A girl after my own heart. Roman was Alpha Male, protective, dedicated and deliciously debonair. I loved their relationship and the passion that immolated from every pore. Ezekiel and Zora's story will surely be delightful. Paxton's quiet demeanor will make for a lovely read as well. Overall this was a dynamic read...
This is a new author that popped up on my amazon recommended list. I must say for a new author Ms Davis did an excellent job. I don't want to give a synapsis of the story because it would give away the story. I will say this story is a Christian based story but rooted in real people. While it's a love story it's also about redemption when your at the lowest point in your life. The story also shows that sometimes your first love isn't your last love and that God has a plan for all us. I truly enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading Zeke's and Paxton's story.
This book touched me on so many levels, it's definitely an emotional ride but so worth it. You will love Blue from beginning to end and Zanetta's sweet spirit radiates from the moment she enters the picture. This is my first time reading this Author and I look forward to reading the next installment to the series.
This is my first time reading Ms. West's work. I so appreciate a realistic loving humanistic perspective of Christian leadership and showing how we all are striving to maintain a loving relationship with the Father God! Blue and Nette showed that you can love the Lord, have a ministry that is relevant, not always follow the "traditional" standards of the church and always strive to keep a balance! We can have fun, love our significant others and still represent Christ! I was laughing, crying, and simply tickled while reading this awesome book! I can't wait to read Ezekiel and Zora's story! Oh, and Uncle JD was a gangsta! Loved it!! One last note...the power of God and how he works for our good for those that love him was so beautifully expressed! I also was encouraged and had a praise party while reading! Thank you Queen, please keep writing such spirit filled stories!
Blue’s Beauty by Bailey West is a heartwarming romance that explores the resilience needed to find love after loss. Bailey West crafts a beautiful journey with Blue and Zanette, two souls who have endured life’s hardships and are deserving of a second chance at happiness.
The story has a gentle pace, allowing readers to connect with Blue’s grief and Zanette’s hope, making their budding romance feel organic and authentic. West’s portrayal of love as both healing and transformative is one of the book’s strongest points. Each character’s vulnerability and courage add layers to the story, making it not just a romance but a heartfelt exploration of rebuilding after loss.
With tender moments and a touch of humor, Blue’s Beauty is perfect for anyone looking for a romance with depth and warmth. This book reminds us that true beauty lies in the love we find when we open our hearts again.
This was my first book by this author and I fell in love. I cried and laughed and cried some more. I reflected on my life and the struggles I have faced and realized no one, and I mean no one, is perfect and that's okay. How we react is what makes us strong and Roman and Nette showed me that. I thought back on my feelings on God and my relationship with Him. This story gave great advice on men and how you shouldn't allow someone to only give you part of themselves. If they want you in their life they will make the time. I'm gonna be honest and say I wasn't sure what to expect once I started reading this. At first I thought it was going to be dull and solely based on religion and church but the more I read the more I realized it gave an insight that I never thought about. I could go on but I reccomend you read this book!!!
I'd give this book a 3/5. I enjoyed it...eventually.
The beginning felt kind of rushed while simultaneously dragging by. The first chapter was nearly 100 pages detailing the main characters' lives leading up to the start of the book. It was a bit unnecessary cramming 30+ years into one "chapter" for the sake of giving readers background information. It could have been a much more concise synopsis of the key points in their lives that impacted them going forward in the story. Also, it was very predictable and unrealistic at times...but hey, I read to escape reality so that didn't bother me TOO BAD.
It was a sweet, love story though. The last third of the book really caught my attention and I stayed up to finish it. The characters were likable, but the only real drama didn't come until the end. All in all, it was good enough. I've heard the other books in the series are better which leaves me hopeful.
This book was my first book to read by this author. It was a real feel good story. Roman and Nette traveled different paths as they navigated themselves through different life storms. However, those storms eventually led them to cross path because of God's plan for them. This book set a great balance dealing with love, heartaches, hurt, pain, sex, relationships, church, and God. At times, I was really in my feelings. I definitely enjoyed the good nature banter between the characters, which caused me to laugh a lot. I am so excited to read the next book and elated to recommend this book. It was so down to earth and very relatable. I will take some valuable life lessons and spiritual education with me by reading this book. Bravo to the author.
As a first introduction to Bailey West's writing I didn't know what to expect. Yet I must say the story of Roman and Zanette hit close to home. As many authors seek to write Christian literature and yet do not humanize the Christians. I must say Ms. West did just that. Real life circumstances confronted Roman and Zanette and they needed to handle it with grace and mercy. From the opening Chapter of Roman's first loss you knew that a unique prospective of second chance at love was upon you. Not to mention revelations knowledge. You'll laugh with the story. You'll feel compassion for each character. Most of all you'll see God in His purest form use His children for His glory.
The storyline was great and I loved the Christian elements in the book and how real it portrayed grief and love and walking in your anointing. That affirmation was probably my favorite part in the book and I will be speaking that over myself so I really appreciate the author including it.
The only reason I have this a 3 out of 5 is the grammar was driving me crazy switching between present and past tense within the same paragraph it seemed. Definitely could have used another round of edits before it was published.
That being said, I can’t wait to read the next book! The stories are great and I actually read the Valentine series first so I know the grammar gets better. Both series are amazing!
First off I don’t know how I stumbled upon this author but I’m SO GLAD I DID!!!! I don’t know if I have connected with a story (and I have read MANY amazing books) as much as I did this one!!!! This was the realist book I have ever read. I could IDENTIFY and picture sooooo much within this book. Being a church girl myself, a PK, encountering so many things, I could envision everything in this story!!!! I dont know if all of this author’s books are like this but I sure hope so!!!!! I will definitely be looking for another book. This was so great!!!! I feel like I know Roman and Zanetta!!!! I’m going to allow their story to marinate before I’m off to the next one. Excellent Job, Ms. Author!
Beautifully written book, with God and Jesus being made prominent! It's not to often we get to read a good Christian book, that shows real people with real struggles. Mistakes and forgiveness, talking about God like who he is. A fAther that forgives and has Devine destinies planned for us and all we have to do is except him, believe in him and take it! Real prayer, moving forward through storms and being true to yourself. Knowing who you are and who's you are, k owing you don't have to be like everyone else, we are Kings Kids. Even Pastors and Minister s are human, we have desires and fight the flesh like everyone else.
This is my first read by this author and let me say it was so unbelievably refreshing and satisfying. The complexity of the characters and their individual stories were beyond engaging. You will cry, laugh, sing, rejoice with them as if they are your own real family. She portrays the genuineness of Godly Relationship, (the good, the indifferent and the trying) and the magnanimous love HE has for us. Blue's Beauty was just simply an incredibly amazing read. I am looking forward to the rest of this series. If you are not familiar with Baily West... then i suggest you get familiar and quickly...
I know Ezekiel and Zora need to go ahead with all that jazz. Talking about Romans and Nette's story is not as exciting as theirs. Let us readers be the judge of that, because this was one of the best stories I've read in 2020. It was perfection from beginning to end. The flow, the dialogue, the venues and definitely the characters. The personas of the characters were the best because their love, words and message that I felt was received from them were encouragement to them or if you will good for thought. I felt every emotion, especially when Makaela passed because I suffered as well in that same capacity. Great Read! ReneeG 👍
So I read the order of these series out of order. I started with the Valentine Law series, since it was my first by this author, then started this. Man, let me tell you, I really don't do church based books. I've read a few but just not my thing. This. Book. Was. Everything! As with the Valentine Law series, the spirituality was front and center. It gave a word and the Word and still managed to be engaging without being preachy. I thought Samuel was my guy but Roman is the man too. Roman and Zanetta's story is beautiful and humbling. I'm a fan for life. Now on to ole Zeke's story❤
