In the fourth and final book in the TIDES series, the FBI investigates Ian while Micah and Charlie race to find Neptune. But first, they have to locate the Vortex, and the only way into Atlantis is through the ruins, which are unstable and extremely unsafe. Then they have to learn how to navigate the Vortex to search for Neptune and pray they find him alive as he's the only one who can stop the purge! Meanwhile, Katie is due to deliver at any time and Micah wonders if she's going to become a widow again.
Vortex is the fourth book in the Tides series. I found the whole series a pleasure to read. While fiction, they are so realistic as to make you feel the author's words: the anger, rage, fear, pain, happiness, love, and passion. Once you start reading each book, you'll find it very difficult to put them down. I found myself caring about the characters and was disappointed that there wasn't more!
This book, the last of the Tide series, was different from the rest, but still very enjoyable! The descriptions were vivid as usual, there was still some on the edge of your seat anxiety over what will happen next. The best part of this book was the fantastic way it ended. A perfect ending to a great series of books!
The author successfully transports the reader to the world of merpeople. both on land and in the sea, making the series a pleasureable & intriguing read.
