I grew up on a small farm on the outskirts of Sydney and as a keen horse rider, often competed in local gymkhanas and even broke in a few horses from time to time. As I was surrounded by animals, I decided at an early age to become a nurse, however I couldn’t stand the sight of blood and so opted for a career in teaching. It’s a bit ironic that I married a surgeon.
I read my first Mills & Boon novel when I was 17 and that encouraged me to continue reading romance novels; the lure of the tall dark handsome hero, who in reality I fell in love with and knew I was going to marry on our second date! After marrying a year later, we moved to Scotland with our six week old baby so my husband could work and study for his MD in surgery. After the birth of our second son we came back to Australia to settle in Tasmania.
I went back to University and up-graded my teaching diploma to a degree and then went on to do a Masters but still I felt as if something was missing. I sat down one day and began writing and everything clicked into place - I had finally found ‘my brilliant career’! I used to write from instinct rather than a specific plan, but now, so many books later I find a loose plan doesn't go astray. An idea will pop into my head, sometimes it will be just a simple phrase or a what if question and I'm away.
Writing is a skill that can be learned and the best way to learn it is to read and to write. So many people feel they have a novel in them and very probably they are right-the only trick is to get it out. My advice to ‘would be’ writers is to write, write, and write even more. Carry a notebook at all times and jot down ideas. And like any other activity the more you do, the more it feels comfortable.
I hope you enjoy my stories and look forward to hearing from you.
I'm surprised these two could have a one night stand that resulted in a pregnancy since they were both so immersed in their own thoughts and regrets about the past that they could function in the real world for 20 minutes. The H/h met at the wedding of the H/h from Wedding Night with Her Enemy. They were a boring couple, too.
Both characters were nice people and hot messes. The heroine had a new age mother who was always criticizing her. She was in a seven-year relationship with a gay man and thought there was something wrong with her. (There was something wrong with her- she can't see the nose in front of her face. And even after she caught him in bed with his lover she considered staying on as his beard because she didn't want to admit a mistake. Ack!)
The hero hit his half-sister with his car when he was first learning to drive. She shot out in front of him on her bike and he couldn't stop in time. She's been confined to a wheelchair ever since and this is why the hero can't love and only has one night stands.I know - wut?
After the h tells the H about the pregnancy, the rest of the story is the H/h dancing around the idea of marriage. They were both ridiculous.
Thankfully the story ends with not one, but two golden retriever therapy puppies. One for the hero's sister and one to show the heroine how much he loves her.
This is for the times you want something low angst and boring soothing before bed.
A Ring for the Greek's Baby by Melanie Milburne is an explosive, sexy and all out mesmerizing read. I devoured this book in a matter of hours. The plot is a simple one but yet it still managed to draw me in one chapter at a time. Most of the scenes are intense and dramatic and well-written. And I enjoyed Emily and Loukas’s journey from beginning. These two are very flawed. They make mistakes but eventually learn from them. Their romance is hot and fierce. And sparks fly helter-skelter every time the gorgeous hero is on page with this heroine. They are good together and good for each other. I really enjoyed this book. The story got me through a tough time and I have the author to thank for that. Overall, a hot and spicy read.
A Ring for the Greek’s Baby by Melanie Milburne is a sensual romance where a passionate one night spent together at a wedding for mutual friends leads to a baby, and a happy ever after.
Loukas Kiprianos couldn’t resist the lure of sweet, innocent English woman Emily Seymour whom he met at his best friend’s wedding. In fact, he can’t forget her, and when he finds himself in London again, he decides to look her up and see if she’s interested in spending some more time with him – no strings attached. But when she agrees to dinner with him, he soon finds out some news – she’s pregnant! Loukas was not looking for anything permanent but he’s not going to abandon a child, and proposes marriage. Emily is willing to do whatever is best for the baby, and agrees. But Loukas soon finds that he wants more than a marriage of convenience with the woman who is quickly gaining a place in his heart. Can a one night stand become a lifetime of love?
One of the biggest problems I have with category romances is that there aren't really enough pages to develop characters or the romantic relationship. This wasn't bad—though the writing is a little clunky—it just needed more pages to fully become.
All the other reviewers loved this book, but I’m conflicted. It’s a great book, loved the characters but my problem with it is that it’s too damned sweet! Unrealistically sweet.
I might just be jaded and need a some drama in my romance, but I just couldn’t fall into this one. I kept walking away from it to play video games. It took much longer to read than it should have.
Again, it’s a lovely story, with flawed but sweet characters, but it just didn’t do it for me.
Give me a Greek hero and I am in, and in I was for this story we met Emily and Loukas in MS Milburne’s last book Wedding Night with her Enemy where they had one very sensual night together that left Emily pregnant and now we journey with them to a very gorgeous HEA but of course there are a few ups and downs along the way but a very sensual journey as well I highly recommend that you sit an back and enjoy.
I fell for Loukas right from the start he is such a vulnerable hero after what he has been through in his life he is so scared of loving for fear of hurting people and one night stands is what he does that is until he meets Emily at his best friend’s wedding and for some reason that he cannot fathom he wants her again, but when he arrives to pick her up for dinner Emily is a bundle of nerves and the reason why is discovered and how it is discovered will have you smiling.
Emily is the typical girl next door for me lovable, caring and she wants love and the whole kit when she marries puppy as well you see she is an only child to a single mother and that is not what she wants for herself or her child, so when Loukas basically demands that they marry this rocks her and there is a battle of wills for them both and internally for Emily. But falling for him happens very fast but how can she get that love in return?
This is one of those stories that you will pick up and not want to put down beautifully written it shows how a proud and aloof billionaire falls for the gorgeous happy and fun secretary and the joy that can be found when the right key to a heart is be found. Thank you MS Milburne for another keeper a story that will stay with me for a long time, this one did leave me smiling.
A Ring for the Greek’s Baby, Book 32 of the One Night with Consequences series, was about notorious playboy Loukas Kyprianos and Emily Seymour. When Loukas and Emily met at the wedding of their two friends, the sparks were ignited and they spent a glorious night together, no strings attached. But a month later with no contact from him, Emily figured he wanted nothing more to do with her. But when she took several tests, she realized she had to contact him because she was pregnant and believed he needed to know. However, she didn't have his number...and was shocked when, out of the blue, he called her and asked her to dinner. After having hooked up with Emily, Loukas hadn't been in touch, but mainly because he had been so busy. However, he hadn't been able to get her out of his mind, so when he was back in London, he decided he would offer her a week-long, no-strings-attached affair. When he arrived, she had tried to talk with him about something, but he was more interested in making the pitch for his offer. Because he had arrived early, she wasn't quite ready and made a bee-line for the bathroom where he followed her when he heard something break. As he attempted to kiss her, she backed up, but tripped over the trash can, emptying it at his feet. As he caught sight of the seven pregnancy tests at his feet, he blanched...and she fainted when he questioned her about it. Once he set his mind on something, nothing could change it, whether it was what he wanted or not. Determined to do the right thing, he convinced Emily to marry him, then quickly spirited her away to his Greek home of Corfu to avoid the press. The characters were well-developed, though there were points in the story where this reader wanted to reach out and slap the backs of their heads to jar them into action. Loukas, though he had experienced things that had caused him to lock his emotions up deep inside, was a fantastic Hero. He was such a good man, even when he was honest with Emily that theirs would not be a love match, but that he would be there for the both of them for as long as allowed. As for the Heroine, Emily was a strong, loving young lady who cared for everyone and put their happiness first, even her unborn child's. The storyline of this book was pretty straightforward, with all the normal twists and turns, the angst and drama, the chemistry and passion, and even a touch of humor. There were also the undertones of despair, guilt, confusion, doubts, and pain that could not be denied. All of these emotions made for an enjoyable read as they engaged the reader and didn't let go until the end. The only drawback was how the epilogue ended, leaving unanswered questions that any true romance novel reader would love to have answered. But regardless of that, this book definitely earned a five-star rating and will be included with the other Keeper for the Shelves collection.
A Ring for the Greek's Baby (One Night with Consequences) by Melanie Milburne
Emily Seymour and Loukas Kyprianos met at their best friend’s wedding and after they had that one night of passion they did not think they would be seeing each other that way again. That is why this is in the series called One Night with Consequences. Shortly after Emily finds herself pregnant. She does not feel she is going to have any relationship with Loukas as he is noted for only doing affairs. However, he could not forget Emily and called her to have dinner with him. Emily cannot believe the first pregnancy test and she now has taken 7. Emily must decide to break it to Loukas. She knows he can’t give her the fairy tale that she had dreams of however for the baby’s sake she needs to tell him. Loukas feels they should marry and they are engaged and he finds that he changes his view on relationships. I love reading books by Melanie Milburne and she certainly did not let me down with this one either. If you love romance stories and happily ever after then this one’s for you!
Emily Seymour and Loukas Kyprianos first meet at a their best friends wedding and needless to say sparks fly. What they thought would be a no strings night of passion ends up with an unexpected pregnancy. Loukas usually just has affairs and then forgets them but for some reason he has Emily on his mind so does an unusual, calls her again and invites her to dinner. After 7 positive pregnancy tests Emily knows she has to tell Loukas, not knowing what the outcome will be. Both has issues from their past but will their baby change the way they feel. Read it and find out. As a constant follower of Ms. Milburne I can only tell you that this book is amazing. She will have you from page one and anxious to see how they get their HEA and then sigh. An incredible author and another fantastic story.
Emily was in a relationship with Daniel for 7 years and only then learned he is gay. She has met Loukas at the wedding of her friend (and boss) Allegra to Drako. Emily is the child of a single mother, nether knew her father.Suddenly she is pregnant and Loukas proposes. The little gold key to a jewelry box (Loukas presented her the box) is left behind by accident. To Loukas it becomes the key to his own heart. There is a surprise for the pair at the end of the book.
I always enjoy Melanie Milburne’s books and this one is no exception. Emily Seymour and Loukas Kyprianos met at their best friends’ wedding and immediately hit it off. A night of no-strings passion is followed by a surprising discovery about a month later…
The story flowed effortlessly, the characters are relatable and seem astonishingly real. They have hidden depths that you discover as you read. Somehow Melanie Milburne takes a common storyline and transforms it into something fresh and new, making you feel as if this is the first book of its kind that you’ve ever read. This is why I always come back for more!
I recommend this book to any and all romance lovers.
A short and sweet story about finding love when you least expect it! The characters are enjoyable, and the story line is good.
Loukous Kyprianos isn't used to not being able to forget a woman, but ever since his time with Emily Seymour, he can't get her off of his mind. When he has business to attend to close to where she lives, he calls to invite her to dinner ... and hopefully more! He's in for a huge shock instead, because Emily just found out that she's pregnant! They both have scars from their childhood that make them doubt themselves as parents, and as being able to commit to someone ... but for this innocent baby about to come into the world, they are willing to try!
"A Ring for the Greek's Baby" by Melanie Milburne is part of a series from the 'One night with Consequences' group, but it is a read alone book. Emily Seymour and Loukas Kyrianos first meet at their best friends wedding. The sparks between them were there from the start. After agreeing to a no strings attached affair it became more when Emily found out she was pregnant. Both Emily and Loukas have issues from their past and they feel as if they will not be good parents, but they find a way to make it work.
Emily Seymour already had a disastrous seven year relation go down the drain. Having a one night stand was so out of the norm for her, but Loukas Kyprianos did more than just stir her blood after their mutual friends wedding. He stirred her heart.
Loukas never wanted a relationship. Never wanted the responsibility to fail once again. To be responsible for another person's well being. Let alone their heart. But something about Emily opened up his heart. And his eyes. to all that he was missing in life by letting guilt control him. But can he win her heart.
LOVE Melanie Milburne's writing and this was a winner. Fantastic Greek hero and loveable heroine alongside unexpected baby made for a wonderful story which, of course, you cant help fall in love with. I loved that Loukas wasn't your typical Greek and had depth.
Read in one sitting, sad to draw to a close and happy with the conclusion, thank you for once again writing a wonderful, wonderful story Melanie, which I can get totally lost in.
Emily is pregnant from her one night stand with Loukas and when he attempts to meet her after and finds out he proposes marriage for the child's sake. Barely even knowing each other they both agree but slowly things start to change from a mere business arrangement... Part of the "One night with consequence" series this is a light, frothy modern romance with a cute story and exotic locations that is sure to appeal to fans of the genre.
Not my favorite. Fairly un memorable, to get fair. The premise was solid, I thought. One wild oops, one unexpected oops, and two people trying to figure out what to do next. I felt it was rushed, fairly mechanical, and it just didn't gel properly, despite my liking of Emily and Loukas. Had a lot more potential than it delivered, even for this type of story. Adult content.
It was ok, but wouldn't want to re-read. Not sure why, because hero and heroine were both nice people, they just had their own issues they needed to overcome. I guess it wasn't exciting/memorable enough.
I did like how hero was obsessed with looking at pregnancy website every morning and wanted to know all there was to know. P.
One of those at your friends wedding and you have a one night stand. It gets complicated because the couple involved Emily and Loukas are best friends of the bride and groom and Emily discovers she's pregnant. Lots of drama and emotional dealings!
This was SO SWEET! I really liked the characters and that the conflict was mostly an internal getting over their own damage sort of thing. And I love that the woman realized that she deserved to be loved and walked away when the dude couldn't commit to that. I really like that a lot.
