MP3 CD Format As Sarah and Julian begin their quest to uncover the truth surrounding his curse, a new threat arises, endangering not only their lives but the future they hope to build with one another. In order to protect themselves and those they care about the most, Julian and Sarah must use all of the resources at their disposal to neutralize their adversaries. For Julian, this means relying on his sister, Mira, and the Council of Elders in New Orleans to uphold the laws within the supernatural community there and mete out justice to those who disobey them.
Sarah must seek the assistance of the alfar who are more than happy to oblige the wishes of their future queen and ruler of House Moonshade. As she begins to accept the responsibilities of her birthright, Sarah’s knowledge of the rivalries between the alfar houses grows, revealing to her how tenuous peace is among them. While Sarah delves deeper into their world, she discovers just how far they’re willing to go to serve and protect her. Such loyalty brings into focus her duty to the alfar and the dreams she might have to abandon in order to live up to her heritage.
Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University. Homesickness and snow aversion forced her back South where she lives in the land which spawned Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous gift named Caylin and they all lived happily ever after.
The second book to the Harvester of Light trilogy will be available for purchase no later than December 2012.
Sarah and Julian are searching for the cure to Julian's immortality. By getting rid of the angry spirit living inside him, he can finally be a human and marry Sarah. But finding ANYONE who can do it, is the hard part. That spirit is determined to make him suffer.
Now that Sarah knows her true heritage and is going to be the future Queen of House of Moonshade one day, making Julian a human is more important than ever. She needs to marry him and one day be able to have an heir as she is the last bloodline of Moonshade's. But she will gladly give up her place on the throne to spend her life with Julian. He just won't let her make that sacrifice for him.
Have mercy, please. I've only been able to get through just over the first quarter of the book, but all that's happened so far is so pedantically repetitive. "All we need is each other/love" "No I'm not worthy" "All we need is love" "No I'm not good enough" ... repeat ad nauseam . This is reading like 13 year old written fan-fic, complete with typos where words will have random letters in the the middle capitalized.
The first book I had hope for improvement; it didn't happen.
So far this has been an interesting story, the whole situation with the FMC & her 'normal' family/life really isn't any better than before still it just kind of takes a backseat only being mentioned sometimes, as for the main story line though it's been steadily paced. We're starting to get a few questions answered all the while new questions arising, but slowly starting to learn a little about what might be going on. I'm loving Julian & the growth he seems to be having, Sarah is rubbing off on him & he's becoming much cheerier & hopeful which I like. I'm not so sure about some of the side characters though & I feel like they seemed to have found their 'inner circle' so to speak a little too easily but maybe that's just my weary & suspicious mind. 😆 On to the next one I go 🖤
Amazing reading. This book start right where moonshade finish. When Julian and Sara continue with their love story. Know Julian has accepted Sara's love but there is something out there that is trying to kill Sara. Julian, Sara, Nadia and the rest of the clan are trying to identifying who wants Sara dead. A trip to another different world where she learn more about her father's family. Can't wait for the next book will Julian become human again? Julian and Sara will have their happy ending? Will see on the next book.
1. The amount of food Sarah has to eat, and the numerous descriptions of said gluttony, is disgusting. 2. The cat’s relationship with some of the Alfar is repulsive. It’s beastiality right? Gross! 3. Annoyingly, I was watching “Yellowstone” when I read the first book and immediately imagined Julian looking like Wes Bentley. He is an attractive guy, but it’s just weird. 4. It feels more like YA sometimes, at least Sarah and Julian’s relationship does.
Despite that, I’m still interested enough in the story to continue the series.
This book def delved more into Sarah's background and her love story with Julian. It was interesting to learn more about the Alfar and find out her link to them. Learning she'll be queen heir def upped the priority to be able to produce and heir for Moonshade and Julian for sure can't do that as a vampire. So now the search to cure him is underway. The story overall was good, picked up right where book 1 left off so I'm hoping book 3 does the same. I'm interested to see how the characters continue to develop.
I'm sincerely baffled by all the rave reviews. Endless descriptions of the main character eating a whole cake, and how she just wants to have sex with the love of her life, why won't everyone get out of the way and let them bone, got very old, very fast. We get it. The guy you've known for less than a week is totally your soul mate. We can barely move a plot forward for all the eating and whining. Gosh, by the fifth chapter, I wished someone would shove them in a coat closet so she'd shut up. The anticipation wasn't even sexy.
As the story of Sarah and Julian continues, we are given a glimpse of another part of Sarah's heritage. While chasing down possible leads, Sarah, Julian and their cohorts have to deal with more assassination attempts and unwanted spirit and alfar drama. Sarah discovers that she will have to fight tooth and nail for the life she and Julian dream of having.
Julian learns the reason he is a vampire, and Sarah learns what is expected of her as an Alfer royal. Still love the strength SJ West gives her female characters. Sarah knows that sacrifices will need to be made however she has the dedication and loyalty of her friends to ensure everyone’s safety and happiness throughout her quest. I cant Seen to stop reading these stories.
I liked this book a lot more than the first one. My only issue is that sometimes, Sarah seems a little slow on things that are obvious. At least they're obvious to me. If she was consistently slow I would not mind as much, but sometimes she is brilliant and sometimes less than so. However, it is not so bad that it makes this book bad. This is still a light hearted book that has an easy read, I believe I will blow through the final two in no time.
even worse than the first one. plot is so convoluted. like you made a house with every occult sim possible, and tried to create soap opera drama unironically. so tired of the fmc, she’s either hungry or saying how you just need to BELIEVE and EVERYTHING WILL BE WONDERFUL. i cannot even begin to fathom why this series has such a high average rating. face was cringing nearly entire listen. gonna go listen to the third one now and the bar is underground
The first book was more enjoyable than this book. This might also be my unpopular opinion but Sarah only had one thing in mind the entire book and that sort of ruined the experience for me. Her obsessive behavior to “sleep” with Julian was excessive and it ultimately made me not like her through the book. There were moments as the story progressed that I started liking the story again until Sarah went and opened her mouth about wanting Julian. Like girl we get it your in heat, calm tf down
Sentinel picks up right where the first book in the series ends. I truly enjoy where this series is heading and I find that I'm partial to this author. As much as I like the read I found it somewhat predictable. That being said, I'm interested in seeing where this series goes.
The story continues and so do the emotions. S.J. West writes Julian's emotions so well that even I'm convinced he will never regain his mortality! Sarah may have her annoying moments but she makes up for it with her determination and loyalty to Julian, they are great together and I can't wait to see what else is in store for them.
Is it a powerful witch possessing Julian? What did Sarah's dad know? How will Sarah's powers grow and be used? And what role does Mira and the other Alfir houses play in this game? And Petru, is there more to him than meets the eye.? What a great way to leave me jonesing for conclave...well played SJ, well played.
This one was a little boring. It gave backstory to the five houses of the Alfar, got to know Sarah's family and threw in some more twists and turns for Sarah and Julian to figure out. However, it was all drawn out to make the book seem more interesting (which it wasn't) so I almost gave up on it. Just hoping 3 will be more interesting and have a little more action.
absolutely enjoyed this book. It should come as no surprise to anyone who reads any of S J Wests' books. I will eagerly start the next one. love this story even more as it unfolds, and it's little twists and turns along the way, If only life didn't get in the way of reading!! Enjoy this book, I know I have.
Sarah and Julian are plagued with one difficult issue after another without any reprieve. It's only Sarah's positive attitude that keeps Julian in the fight. The unexpected and occasionally shocking developments hold the reader's attention in this fast-paced and imaginative fantasy. It's is truly impossible to predict what will happen next. Terrific energy and Highly Entertaining!!!!!
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting to see what was going to happen next. I absolutely love this book. There are surprises and thrills all throughout this book. You have to check it out

What an awesome boom .. started the next book because I didn't want to wait!!! I love this series, just wish it move quicker instead of adding so many new people !! Definitely recommend this series !
This book has so much detail and so many twists and turns you aren’t sure what’s going to happen next. It ends on a cliff hangar making you want what happens next instantly.
That cliffhanger 😳 honestly I’m invested in this story! Honestly I liked this book better than the first. There is so much going on. the twists and action that happens. Their story…. I can’t get enough. Definitely worth reading
What a gripping story this was! I didn't want to put it down., because fantasy is really better than reality. Highly recommend this book and anything written by this wonderful author
