Practical and Applicable
In "Ministry Nuts and Bolts," Aubrey Malphurs breaks down ministry into four foundational concepts. They are: (1) core values; (2) mission; (3) vision; and (4) strategy. Each of these areas needs to be defined. Then they need to become the focus of the church. He spends the rest of the book developing a ministry strategy based on these foundational concepts. His strategy is based on discipleship and ministering to the community taking in factors such as ministry setting and finances. This is a great book for pastors, church planters, and ministry leaders.

Hmm. Dunno. Basic text about the importance of Christian organisations having mission, vision, values and strategy. But too basic for me. The writing and logic is somewhat laboured. Nonetheless, probably a good place to start for someone who has had no exposure to m/v/v or who remains unconvinced by this whole new-fangled idea.

Aubrey Malphurs in his book on the nuts and bolts of ministry gives very practical and applicable knowledge to church leaders in the key components necessary to having a thriving ministry. A thriving ministry is not based on numbers, it is based on having the right nuts and bolts to fulfill the kingdom mandate for your church/ministry.
