With vengeance guiding him, Nathaniel has become one of the most powerful shipping magnates of his time. Unfortunately for Nathaniel, the Brotherhood have entrenched themselves in the last place on earth he wishes ever to see again. The East India Company has plans of its own for Nathaniel, as the Company struggles to maintain its dominance in the world. An old ally will make him an offer he has little choice but to accept. Knowing there are less than a handful of people he can trust, Nathaniel sets out to end the Brotherhood once and for all. He is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice to see his life’s ambition realised, but will Nathaniel be able to pay the real price of victory?Singapore was the scene of both the beginning and the end of Nathaniel Hawk’s dream of having a family and a normal life. I received The Hunt for Hawk as a gift from S.J. Garland herself.
This is the final book in this historical fiction trilogy circling around one Mr Nathaniel Hawk. I certainly didn't imagine it going the way it did when i started the first book way back in 2015. I found it a bit hard to get into the step of this one, still reeling from the end of Hawk's Ascension. Alas, i got through that and was rewarded with the sea battles i had been craving with the Royal Navy taking on the Brotherhood. I wish the ghost ship had had more 'screen time' though. I was waiting for a battle between it and the Wolf XD.
I am glad McCarr survived. Not everybody could die on poor Nathaniel. There was a few grammatical errors but it didn't affect my reading. I rated it 4 stars.

I rated this book with four stars because it was an exciting and well written historical romance. Many know that there are few modern writers who can do the historical romance genre well.
I believe the style of going back and forth between the past and present made the book harder to follow and took away from my reading pleasure but it was a good book anyway.
I was glad the main character became a better man in the end because I so struggled to like him.
I enjoyed this change of pace and wished I'd read the first book in the series before reading this one. I enjoyed this author so I will go back to read Captain Hawk.
Great finish to the series. What an explosive start to this book. Definitely didn't see the twist to this plot coming but tied everything together nicely. Look forwards to reading the next book this author releases.
