Noelle Dresden stepped out on faith and left her full-time job to pursue her singing. Six months later, her singing career hasn't gone much of anywhere and neither has her relationship with her charismatic, yet sneaky boyfriend, Jonah. After Jonah uses Noelle's hopes of an engagement for his benefit, Noelle gets fed up and decides to move forward with her career. Her pursuit leads her to accept an invitation to be a house guest on the popular, hit reality show, House of Swag. On the show, aspiring entertainers with the potential to take it to the next level are trained to become multifaceted mega stars. While in the house, Noelle catches the eye of the show's creator, Monroe "Paper" Chase. As Noelle rises toward super stardom, she has some difficult choices to make. Will she work to keep the love that she and Jonah shares alive, or will she choose fame, fortune and a man who can make all of her dreams come true?

Noelle wins a spot on “House of Swag,” a reality show that is looking for the next mega star. She takes it and starts concentrating on her career. She meets different individuals that are associated with the reality show while living in the house. There are some who are in her corner and preparing her to become the next big thing, especially Monroe Chase, the show’s creator who seems to have a thing for Noelle, and the chemistry is mutual. Then there are others who will do anything to see her fail. She is determined to be crowned the next Swag superstar and accomplish her life long dream and will let nothing stand in her way.
“Swag” was a great easy read, being that it’s a second installment it can stand on its own. The novel was focused on relationships and never giving up your goals and dreams. “Swag” has much swagger but also is full of drama like no other. It will keep you laughing at the same time. I’m looking forward to more good reads from Monica Marie Jones.
Reading this book and currently residing in Detroit, I thought to myself, it would really be cool to see a reality show play out just the way it did in Jones "Swag." I believe that the main character Noelle represents all women at one or any giving phase of their life who simply do not see their value or worth. Sometimes, it takes a life changing moment or two for a person to finally wake up and see they are amazing just as Noelle did.
Not realizing that she deserved the best in life and everygood thing this life has to offer, Noelle, enters a competition on a major reality show. Monroe, the creator of the show was astounded and simply amazed at her audition and as a result, she was selected as a contestant. Despite of Noelle, suffering from low self esteem and the on-going drama brought on by a six year relationship with her boyfriend Jonah, she has the personality and the welcoming spirit of a good hearted woman from the South. There is however another contestant by the name of Taylor who's personality is just the opposite of Noelle's. Cutthroat, and very scandalous, there's nothing this woman will not do to win.
Speaking of scandalous, certain characters from Jone's book "Floss", make a grand appearance in this novel as well. Ms Dionysus is back. For those of you who are aware of her, she put the "S" on scandalous and "H" on Hoe back in the day when she was in the process of finding herself. I was proud to read that Di has made some changes for the better in her life. Infact, she becomes the one real true friend that Noelle ends up relying on as she goes on this journey as a singing contestant trying to win more than just a contest. Noelle is also on a conquest to win first place at simply loving herself. I was very happy for Noelle at the end of this story line because she made some decisions based upon what would make her happy and her life one awesome experience.
After just finishing Floss I was very anxious to read Swag to see what happened to the characters, but this book is not a sequel to Floss, so be prepared. This is definitely a stand alone book which stood well on its own. It was great catching up with Dionysus and seeing what a positive turn around her life has made. She really did a complete 180 from the way she behaved in Floss. Noelle was such an authentically written character that you couldn't help but relate to her. The maturing she did by the end of the book was really commendable. Jonah, wow didn't really see that ending coming. I enjoyed this book a bit more than Floss, probably because the characters had closure. I am still intrigued to know what happened with Jabez and Abel, so I'm hoping Intrigued that is mentioned at the end of this book will be published sometime in the near future.
I like the story but come on the ending could have been better SPOILER ******why couldn't she get the guy in the end and do her music thing and OMG what she and Monroe did was not sex I was reading blinked one time and it was over. Other than that I like the story and the whole reality thing it was good other than the 2 issues I noted above and that's why I gave it 3 starts.

This is the first Monica Marie Jones book I read. It kept my interest from the beginning to the end. I really loved Noelle's character. I loved what Noelle told her boss. I loved how Noelle didn't let Jonah keep her down. Taylor got what she deserved. I was kinda happy & sad about the ending. I would read more books by Ms. Jones.
This was a great read. It was about a young lady that put her dreams and goals on the back burner for a man. She didn't realize her worth until she decided to go on a reality show.
