Challenging the idea that morality is checked by the door at the workplace, this motivating guide uses 12 accessible lessons to help embrace both success and integrity in professional and personal life. Through practical philosophy and inspirational stories, Durand shows individual growth gained the right way is no longer an out of reach ideal. By focusing on “success” as a concept free of guilt and not measured with dollar signs, the workplace is revealed in a fresh, energetic light that is vastly different from what has come to dominate common thinking on this everyday subject. With this book's new outlook, thriving positively in life can be a natural obligation rather than a rare exception.
The full title of this book is "Win the World without losing your soul." It is a great book about human motivation and the natural talents God gives us. How do we find joy and purpose in our everyday living? How do we successful manage our emotions and think in a "winning" way in our workplace?
How do we encourage others while tapping into our natural gifts and cultivate the good in ourselves and others to achieve success within God's plan/purpose for us. This is a positive and affirming book, but not at all light in its approach. Lots of sound reasoning and advice given. I need to read it again - it has been a while since I read it (about 5 years). Since then, he has written other books that I would like to check out as well.
