With only a month left in college, Ian is busy enjoying the remaining time with his friends. Since reaching maturity, his life hasn’t been as carefree as it once was, but he’s found a way to fight the destructive urges growing within him by losing himself in women. But that all changes when Paige falls, half dead, into his arms. Driven by the need to keep her safe, Ian flees with her. Paige spent the past four years of her life training to fight—and kill—vampires. When she’s forced into hiding with Ian, she’s determined to believe he’s just another monster in need of beheading. However, the more time they spend together, the more she realizes that everything she’s fought so hard for may be nothing but a lie. Ian is determined to make Paige see him for the man he truly he is, and not the monster she believes him to be. He only hopes he can convince her before she returns to her old life... and the certain death she faces. ***Due to sexual content, violence, and language, this book is recommended for readers 18+ years of age.***

Another good edition to this series. While these books don't blow me away, they keep me entertained. This is a safe, enjoyable paranormal read. There is fated mates in the books so it can seem awfully fast when they get together but Davies still keeps the stories interesting.

I really like the vampire lore she writes. As we know, PNR author's, tv shows, all have their own view of the vampire. For Buffy the Vampire Slayer all vampires are evil. For other PNR author's vampires are the undead. What I like about this series is that they are able to have kids. I love babies so that is a plus for me. I like that these books have born vampires.

Recommend!

Did not feel the same chemistry with this couple compared to the other siblings

This book did not go where I thought it was going to go, especially knowing that there are superhuman vampire hunters. I thought Paige would've been like a buffy vampire slayer character. It was pretty much a simple story, and it did not focus too much on the couple. It had more world building and the introduction to the leader of all vampires.

The biggest reason why I love this series is the siblings.I love knowing that each one love each other so much, and they're always mentioned in the next books. It is giving a found family vibe.

Slight spoilers ahead!
While I'll still give this 5/5, it wasn't my favorite in the series, but I like the new characters and the growth of some of the existing characters like Ian and Brian. My biggest issue was the fact the Paige was a vampire hunter, and I realize the point of these stories is eternal bonds and all consuming love... and while she did have some internal conflict, I feel like there should have been more, or a more drastic breaking point to break her stigmas. I still loved the book and if you are reading any in the series then I would still recommend it.

I bought the #4 to #6 series bundle for a low price on Amazon, and I knew why I only hit the 1-click-buy-button once it was a bit cheaper. I don't know what exactly I have hoped for when starting this book a couple of days ago, but I sure as hell didn't get it. I do know, what I didn't wanna get but still got: A romance whose passion pretty much only depends on the true-mate-narrative. I am not really happy with the notion that the two lovers pretty much are destined for each other because - and I knooooow, I've said this a thousand times over, BUT - it gives the impression that they have JUST THAT. Because, really, if you look closely enough, you see good in just about everyone (except Trump and the AfD, maybe). I just want more of the part where the true main characters slowly discover all the good about each other and are not "pressured" into it by that bond. Anyhooo, here is a short summary of what you'll meet in this book.

Paige has a mission: ending the nightmares of her past. she teams up with hunters and tries to learn as much as possible from them in order to kill her one enemy: the vampire who brutally killed her mother, maimed Paige and left her to die. She seems to be confident this is actually a mission bound to succeed until she encounters a vampire in an alley. Turns out, she doesn't know the smallest thing about defeating them, especially when used as mere bait by her hunter-"partners".

Enter Ian. Ian doesn't have much on his plate except getting a different woman into bed every night. It is the only way to leash the beast inside him, that broke free the moment he matured. He is hunting a different kind of prey in a packed bar when something about Paige strikes him as odd. Next thing he knows he's plucking a vampire from her neck and carries her to safety, with the help of his family.

Unlucky for him, Paige doesn't appreciate Ian's input very much. In fact, she doesn't trust him the tiniest bit, since he and his friends are vampires. Creatures she learned were ruthless and brutal killers. He is determined to only let her go once she doesn't pose a threat to his family anymore. Unlucky he is once again because Paige's mind is not easily manipulated. Seems like this meet-cute is unraveling in a very undesirable direction. Well, if you leave out the dirty dreams they have about each other, no matter how little they admit to them.

Great addition to a great series. Love this family of vampires and getting to see who the siblings end up with as mates. I also love getting to see how their powers will manifest when they reach maturity. Ian has his work cut out for him because Paige believes all vampires are evil, natural born or turned.
Great writing that pulls you in, great characters that you just want more of, plenty of twists, action and romance.

I am so in love with this series! I love the characters who continue to grow and make me care for them and what is happening in their corner of the world. I was pulled into this story pretty fast and did not want to stop reading until the end because something was always happening to pull me along. Even though they are vampires they are more human than some that they come in contact with. The new characters are always fully fleshed out with a background that makes sense for their interaction with our mains. The language of each character is right for them and does not cause a drag on the overall story. Everything flows very well and the story moves forward at a pace that builds the tension and gives you a chance to follow and figure things out for yourself.

Ian reached maturity 11 months ago and has seen his sexual appetite go off the charts. He only has a few more months until graduation and then he will not see a lot of his college friends again since he has stopped aging, and will have to devise a new way to find women to bring to his bed. While his older sister and brother have found their mates, he does not think he will be doing so for a while and so must simply endure.

Paige has had a hard life after being attacked by a vampire and left for dead. She has aligned herself with the hunters because they have promised to help her track the vampire who scarred her. But as luck would have it she finds him and is not prepared but is lucky enough to be at the bar frequented by Ian who finds her being drained and rescues her, with no sign of her backup.

Paige wakes up and finds herself in a house filled with vampires, whom she believes to be nothing more than monsters. Here is where things get crazy for both as they try to find trust and safety for each other and family.

Another great entry and I am already jonesing for the next one. I want Aiden to hit his maturity next but it can be about one of the new guys we have met or even one of the Stooges (that would be a hoot). I enjoy the fact that the family is always in whatever story is being told because they really are a part of the whole. As usual there was a little hot sex, some great banter, laughs, tears, and heartache. These books take you through the wringer and leave you wanting even more. Highly recommend the series!!

Enraptured is the 4th book in the Vampire Awakening series. Its the story of another Byrne family brother Ian a college student who is a vampire. He helps Paige Dryer a human vampire hunter when she is being attacked by a vampire in an alley behind a bar, that they were just in. Paige has aliened herself with the witches newly introduced to the series. Her handler is a man name Nable. Nable is suppose to be training Paige on killing vampires. Witches think all Vampires are bad. Ian comes to her aid and fights off the vamps attacking her, but one is more vicious then the others and hurts Paige badly breaking her bones and drinking her bones. This vampire has been attacking her almost yearly since she was 18, he is stalking her. Ian takes Paige into hiding were she gets to know the truth about Vampires and she meets all of Ian's family and she know she has been mislead by Nable and that he was using her as a lure to trap vampires. the romance between Ian and Paige moves a bit to slow and drags on, but there too I understand the author was trying to convince a vampire hater that they were not all the same and most were not depraved killers like her stalker and those he has turned.

The story moves slowly and there are some scenes at the end of the story that didn't work too me. For one when the stalker Vampire finds them in Las Vegas. The battle broke out and the oldest Vampire Ronan (Newly Introduced) Brian, David and Ethan did not come help Ian and Paige fight the killer stalker vampires. Well if you are so strong and have all these powers and killer vampires have such bad odors. Why didn't they know this hotel had been invaded with them? This didn't work for me. I am as most readers are intelligent, so scenes have to make sense and this didn't. They show up after the horrible attack on Paige and Ian is over. Ian killed 5 vampires alone but Paige suffered because the stalker vampire got to her. I won't say much about why he keeps stalking her. But I am happy that she gets even and kills him. So that part was understandable, that she should be the one to kill him. But what took the others so long to get to them? They were in the same hotel just one floor up. Other then that Enraptured was a good addition to the series and furthers the series along.

I just can't help myself vampires are my utter passion and tis series from Brenda K Davies hits so many awesome spots for me, I love the characters especially the main family and the recurring extras, I even love the bad guys I mean you know from the outset there will be al least one bad guy and the baddies in this series are all written sadistically well I just love it.

I also love that Brenda can weave such a romantic tale in between so much drama, angst, blood and death and oh how she has the main characters describe the smells of people especially killers is enthralling.

Enraptured is Ian's story, Ian is 3rd eldest of Liam and Sera's kids so yes he is a purebred born vampire like his 9 siblings Ian is also the tallest and most handsomest in all the land ...lol well thats what his ego tells him anyway, Ian is a crack up I just adore him even if he is a bit of a vampire man whore in the beginning he is young and having fun but wait for it you know what's coming ............. That's right his mate the one and only Paige this is the woman who will bring Ian to his knees in more ways than one but first he will need to drop the charm and be completely open and honest with Paige to win her trust and then her heart and Paige will not be easily swayed she has bad history with vampires and she believes they are all evil killers, Ian will need to change paige's mind before he looses his own.

A thrilling tale of love, loss and family.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book. First off, I LOVE LOVE this book!! It is the 4th book in a series. By all means, GRAB the other 3 ( first one Awakened is FREE on Amazon. ) If you love vampire stories, this book and the others in the series are right up your alley.

There is so much fun, excitement, suspense, love, hate in this book. You shall run the gamut of emotions. Ian and Paige are the main characters. You will love them. How they are enemies and yet... ( spoiler and I don't give them. )

Brenda K. Davies vampires do not sparkle. They are somewhat more human than other vampires. Not to say there are not bad vamps. There are.

All I can say is BUY this book and read and fall in love with Brenda K. Davies writing style and the characters that talk to her.

Absolutely loved this book. Ian, the proverbial man whore, and Paige whose problems stem from vampires are thrust into each other's lives when Paige's father attaches her and Ian saves the day. Ian tries to prove to Paige that vampires are not all evil. Paige has had enough experience with evil vampires that she doubts Ian and his family.
I absolutely loved this story and how Ian's carefree attitude quickly soothes Paige. I love how Paige stays strong even in the face of danger. Can't wait for more..

This is the fourth book in the Vampire Awakenings series and in my opinion, is the strongest story yet! The other stories were really well written, gripping and gritty romances, and this one is no exception but the series is growing in depth as we get to know more and more about the Byrne clan and the bond between mates. Paige has an intense backstory that makes this addition all the more intense. Ian and Paige have a difficult road to travel due to Paige's understandable yet misinformed hatred of Vampires.

Quotes:

'“Not everything is what it seems, and sometimes what you think you know is wrong,” Ian said quietly.'

'Ian stared at the satellite phone before stepping aside to let Stefan into the room. “Hello?” “You know for a family that repeatedly tells me they want nothing to do with me, you keep calling me every time one of you steps into a pile of shit,” Brian drawled over the air waves.
“It’s nice to talk to you too,” Ian muttered.
“Don’t lie. What did you get yourself caught up in now?”'

'Paige cracked one heavy eyelid and groaned at the sunlight filtering around the closed curtains. Demented little elves were inside her head, chipping away at pieces of her Scotch soaked brain. She’d definitely lost some of her brain cells to the alcohol last night. Actually, she would bet some of her cells were still floating around in the liquid right now. Her stomach was most certainly floating in it.
... Her stomach rolled, her head beat out a tempo that would have made Korn proud as she swung her legs over the side of the bed.'

Davies, Brenda K.. The Vampire Awakening Series Bundle (Books 1-5) (The Awakening Series) . Gilmour-Cox Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Errors:
'“You won’t be able to go back school,” Stefan said.'

'Ever so gently, he pried her fingers from the leg of table.'

'The brief touch of his flesh again hers made heat seep through her body. Rubbing her arm, she hastily stepped away from him.'

'He swirled the clear liquid in the glass before downing it one gulp.'

'Do you mind if I asked what happened?”'

'... when he’d said they left the next day more satisfied than they’d ever been the next day, a jolt had gone through her.'

'She’d had enough training from the hunters, not a whole lot, hence her embarrassing blood loss and subsequent capture by a vampire the other night, but enough so she should be able keep herself alive.'

'The smile slide from his face; a muscle in his cheek jumped. “I’m going to ask you to do me the favor of staying for, at most, another week.”'

'Some of them looked a little hectic, but most of them were laughing and cheering on their friends. Then there was the middle of the crowd, people simply content to sit and play games, socialize with people and laugh and talk in their jeans and t-shirts.'

'Her stomach turned at the display, but her eyes remained on father.'

?'The men had all fed before leaving the condo on a few women Ronan had called to come over.'

This is another great addition to this series as I was looking forward to reading Paige and Ian's story. I enjoyed a lot. Ian is fine with having one-night stands, but he makes sure his partner for the night understands that it's for one night only. After all, they both get what they want and need for the night. Paige is a human vampire hunter that is set on finding one vampire in particular. The vampire that destroyed and changed her life forever, and he keeps hunting her no matter how many times she escapes. Ian wasn't looking for nor did he expect to find his mate. He darn sure never expected her to be a hunter. He saves her life without knowing and the more time they spend together, the more he realizes she's his. Their story is one filled with great characters, suspense, steamy scenes and more. The ending was sweet and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series which will be Addy and Brian's story.

Most of these books are about 3.5 stars due to the writing. The storylines were generally good, but a decent editor and wider vocabulary would make them better. Words and phrases are often repeated in the same paragraph or two, ideas become repetitive, and in some cases the h is really annoying and childish.

I do like the mating bond and progression of its completion in each book. I love the uber protective and possessive H's who are all about making the h happy and safe.

By the 5th book some things were getting repeated from previous books, but I may only have noticed that because I read them all within a few days. I will likely read more from this series, but I'm going to take a break from them first.

I love coming back to the Byrne family. Each book gets better and better which seems impossible especially when I'm easily giving each 5 stars.
I fell easily for Ian's light-hearted nature. He was pure sex walking on two legs. He was all consuming passion that led to some seriously heated moments that had me wishing I could jump in the book with him.
My heart hurt for Paige and all that she had been through. I also admired her strength, determination and fortitude. We learn more about vampire hunters and it is told in a way that is different from any vampire story arc I've read yet. I can't wait to see how the author expands on this. I love this series so much and it easily entertains with heat, angst and a story well told.

Another okay book in this series. I didn't feel the connection between the two main characters. Their struggles nor the horror that had befallen them didn't touch my emotions at all. I'm still taking issue with the fact that these vampires seem to have plenty of money, yet none of them has a job or obvious source of income.

As always, Tavia Gilbert, the narrator, did a superb job!

Would have given 5* as love the characters but one sex scenes too many for my tastes. This is book 4 in the series and probably the most violent. Yet satisfying read. Listened on audio and listened non stop Sunday. Ian a 22 year old pure bred vampire addicted to sex to control his hidden urges meets his lifemate Paige a vampire Hunter, also 22 years old. Ian saves her from a vampire attack and has to convince her he is not evil and has to save her from vampire attacks.

OMG! I finished it finally. Took me a week, because I would fall asleep every time I started reading it.
It’s a well written. No doubt. Just not very impressive.
This mate think is getting boring.
Book 1 was the best. Rest are meh!

The most disappointing part is the vampirism and it is negligible.
Mystery is negligible.
Why did her father want to kill her? Or not kill her? Why did her father chase her? We’re the biggest question that were unanswered.

Ian’s turn! What an issue to have! A never ending sex drive. Ian is in his last year at college and living the life. He’s full every night and feeding both desires. Then one night it all changes when he comes across her. She endangers him, his family and the life he has always known but he will stop at nothing to protect her. Fantastic addition to this series!

Ian and Paige’s story. Ian is a man-whore who feels the need to sleep with a new woman everyday. Paige hunting vampires. He saves her one night and their relationship begins a slow progression. There’s some battles and mystery, but it all gets resolved in the end.

I am so disappointed. The plot sounded good. It was going ok and then this cat and mouse in their minds chatter and I am skipping pages to find good dialog. What happened? The author just lost it. So much could have been done differently. Still the 1st as my favorite so far
