This is more than a self-help book. It is a way of navigating life
through realizing that we are its perpetual students,
it, our history, our environment, our relationships - the teachers,
our minds - the judge, jury and persecutor/savior.
Truth of the matter is, we have more control than we think. We just need to know ourselves better. The inner selves we push away or bury under a thick blanket because we are too fearful or wary to confront them or know them, flaws and all.
What i liked about this book is that it approaches self-awareness/knowledge in a light, compassionate, and non judgmental manner. Just shy of 100 pages, this slim book does not fail to have adequate substance. With bite-sized ideologies, they are easily digestible and not overwhelming though the subject matter is quite deep.
Most notable and refreshing for me is that the content is not cliche or things i’ve already heard a million times. In fact, some of the concepts are ones i’ve only learned through therapy, research, science, personal experiences or anecdotes from friends/known professionals.
