Slick 2 Lib/E

Rate this book
Several years have passed, but Sylvia McMillan still can't run and hide from the truth that continues to tear at her soul. Her love for Jonathan Taylor, her ex-friend's husband, remains. Jonathan has moved on, though. In less than six months, he plans to watch his new bride cascade down the aisle as they join hands in holy matrimony. He's not about to let Sylvia's slickness derail him again--but then again, how can he resist the one woman who is willing to honor every single one of his wishes?

As the lines of their so-called friendship are crossed again, Sylvia and Jonathan begin to wonder if their future together is destined. While there are plenty of people standing in line to prove them wrong, one woman in particular prepares to make things right. Dana is now a bitter ex-wife and ex-best friend. There is a price to pay for Jonathan leaving her high and dry, and his involvement with Sylvia, again, will deliver major consequences.

Hampton is a native St. Louis, with a gift and passion for writing. She maintained journals for several years, but it wasn’t until she read Terry McMillan’s Disappearing Acts that she considered taking her writing adventures to another level.

In 2002, Hampton completed her memoir, along with two fiction novels: Two's Enough Three's a Crowd and How Can I Be Down? The following year, she completed thrilling sequels to both novels and additional bestselling novels followed thereafter.

Hampton is known for bringing the heat to readers, and her literary career is filled with many accomplishments. She is an Essence Magazine Bestselling Author, she was named a Favorite Female Fiction writer in Upscale Magazine by O.O.S.A., she is a 2009 African American Literary Award Nominee for her mystery novel, The Dirty Truth, and was awarded Best Female Writer by Infini Promoters. Hampton's latest releases are: Don't Even Go There, Full Figured 1, The Dirty Truth and Book 6 of the Naughty Series. Jonathan, Sylvia, and some new faces truly picked up where they left off from the first novel. None of them know what loyalty means. Buy what was surprising once I figured it was how the white girl played her part. It just hoes to show you can't treat people any kind of way. With that said, people live, and they learn, and if you don't learn from your mistakes, you never will. This was an awesome read. I enjoyed the story, the characters, and the out come.

Oh my goodness, so capativingly and emotionally twisted. Excellent characters and writing styles...phenomenal....I love this author and every book she has written.

When I read the first book, Slick, I was disgusted with Sylvia, (also Dana) but as our story unfold, I fully understand and sympathetizes with her and her actions. She is an amazingly very strong woman, who constantly try to help Jonathan.

As always, I highly recommend this book and any other books that is written by Brenda Hampton. Her stories are humorous, fascinating, compassion, surprisingly shockingly twisted, and incredibly powerful!

Brenda Hampton didn't miss a beat with this story.
I don't want to give anything away but I will say that you won't be disappointed with this sequel and if you are a Jaylin Fan, he showed up and showed out ( If You Know What I Mean) the twist & turns in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Your friend could turn out to be your worst enemy!!! Watch your back!!!
I didn't think it would end quite like that!!! I'm hoping for a Slick 3 in the near future maybe?
If you haven't read The Slick series please do, you won't be disappointed.

Very well written novel. Many twists and turns. I really felt like I knew from the first part of the book what was really going on and I discovered I was right. Great ending, very engaging. Great job Brenda Hampton! The wait was well worth it!

O this book was good for it to be a part 2. Most books that are series the other book hardly ever match up with the first but this book was good. I really enjoyed this book. I hope that you will too. A page turner and it holds your attention.

Brenda know she be coming with them plot twist at the end ! I loved how she tied in her old characters from the naughty book. For a minute it took me for a loop until I realized this was that silvia was the relationship that broke their friendship in the naughty books. But in that book it made it seem like they weren’t on speaking terms . But such a great read I listened to them both in a short time because I was so captivated and drawn to the story I just needed to know who the hell was behind the shenanigans lmao ! Great read , definitely an emotional roller coaster but it brought light to real life situations we have today ! You can’t play with a women’s heart ok lmao

I thought the 2nd book was going to be a fail initially mainly because the way he 1st book ended I thought that would have been a good way to end the story. i was wowed with the plot twist and karma and happy there was a 2nd book. i'm glad that book 2 shares from Jonathan, Sylvia and lesa's point of views for book one did not do the same with Dana. dana also sounded like a broken record. don't get me wrong I get it but I thought shorty moved on? idk why these people had no limits when it came to the "hands off the friends" rule but what a shame !!!!!!AND PEOPLE IN THE COMMENTS!!!!!

Be Careful with people's feelings.

Book 2 was better than 1. I was surprised to find out Crissy was the culprit and her motive. Sylvia needed to fall back and find herself. I'm glad she gave someone else a chance. I was happy for Britney. I guess it's safe to say everyone finally got a life. I believe there could be a book3 only to see if Jonathan finally found happiness.

After reading the first book I knew that I had to read part 2. This book was great, I loved how it flowed and by the end still left me wanting to know what was going to happen to Sylvia and Jonathan. I recommend this book heavily to all Brenda Hampton fans.
