As you can maybe tell from the fact that this book came out only two days ago in Japan and I was able to read (a physical copy, that is) today even though I am many miles away - I was really looking forward to this one. And it was the perfect ending to the story (three volumes really do work best for stories like this one).
Let me say one thing first, though: Both Junjou and Fusoku no Renjou would have been 1000 times better without the rape.
(Of course, that goes for about 80% of BL.)
The rape in Junjou is more brutal than the one in this series, but Miyata makes it clear he doesn't want to have anal sex, but in volume two Ikura ignores that. (And after telling Miyata he's in love with him.)
It makes me mad because I really love Miyata's development after that, and because I KNOW Fujiyama-sensei can tell stories without rape, and because ugh, I really like this damn story so much but I cannot like it fullheartedly. (I like it a lot better than Junjou which has to do with Miyata who I absolutely adore.)
So I acknowledge that there is rape and I wish there were none. But I still enjoyed the rest of the story, because it really is good. I really enjoy seeing Miyata and Ikura talk (and act) like adults, and seeing them become more and more intimate with each other, and finding a balance.
(And, when it's consensual, I really enjoy seeing them having sex, I won't lie. It's incredibly hot.)
I'm also glad I got the special version with the booklet, which has almost 50 pages of additional content (of Junjou and Fusoku).
