Would you go back and face your past mistakes to find your future happiness? Georgie has three big ones in her past. She is the three time runaway bride, but now she had made a resolution to face those three men to find her future happiness. As she goes back to face the music of the past, she finds that just maybe her running away was for the best in the long run.
Out of those three there is one that is the biggest mistake of all. Nick started out as her best friend. He was there though the two that came before him. He never thought that she would run from him too. Nick is still pissed as hell at Georgie, but man does he ever miss her. He still holds her heart, and her world is missing something without him in it. She is willing to do what ever it takes to have him in her world again, but can they go back to just friends again?
I absolutely have loved every one of these books, but I have to say that this is my favorite. Georgie is just one of those people that you can’t help but be drawn too, and she grabs you the reader too. The undeniable chemistry and love between them is just so great. Although they try to fight it, sometimes fate has other plans, and those plans are smoking hot.
Mari creates these series that draw you in, and make you sad to see them end. This series is very much in that category. This world of friends makes up a family of their own, and I truly love each and every one of them. There is something about each of these characters that you find yourself connecting with. I’ve laughed and cried with each one, and will be “visiting” with them over and over again. This series has gone straight to the top of my reread list.
We have now come to the final book in the Second Chance series and the free spirited, fun loving Georgie. Infamous for leaving 3 men at the altar, her second chance resolution is to look back at the men she left and see where she went wrong. At least that is what she tells her friends, her real second chance resolution is all about Nick, the third man she left, and her one true regret.
I am sad to see the end of this series, it has added a little bit of fun and light heartiness to my book shelf. Not to mention something a little sexy as each of the girls find their perfect match and get kinky in the bedroom.
Georgie however, had already found her perfect match, and then went and screwed it up by running off whilst he was waiting at the front of the church. I enjoyed watching Georgie and Nick slowly come to trust each other, the book was fairly short, so it didn’t really go into much depth, but they definitely had great chemistry. Especially in the bedroom, straitlaced Nick let out his wild side.
This series may not blow you away, but if you want something fun, sexy and quick to read then give it a try.
Sexy and fun friends to lovers/second chance romance read. Had a kind of chick-lit vibe to it but was too erotic to be considered chick-lit. The H was amazing, superhot and so gone for h; the h made me smile - she had that full of life/crazy(but not really crazy) hippy-chick-vibe if you know what I mean. She's someone I'd like to be friends with.
Always You is a character-focused dual-POV friends-to-lovers second-chance romance. I recently met the author and she gave me a signed copy of this book, so I felt obligated to give it a shot.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with this novel, but there’s also nothing that stands out about it; it’s a fairly generic story. Also, it needs a copy editor. I saw multiple punctuation and capitalization errors throughout. *sigh*
I read this book in one sitting, so it was a fairly easy (and short) read, but it’s not something I’ll revisit in the future, and I likely won’t read any other books by this author. I don’t enjoy super explicit scenes and this story went further than I’m comfortable with on multiple occasions, and I suspect the author’s other books will do the same.
I’ve read other contemporary romance stories that have a much bigger emotional impact on me combined with less spice, and those are the kinds of romance novels I prefer.
Always You is part of a a series of standalone novels, so it can be read on its own. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but if you want a lighthearted and erotic novel to fill up an afternoon then it will suit your needs.
Say Something by Mari Carr is a hot, fast-paced story that I was able to read very quickly. Although this book is part of her Second Chances series, it can definitely be enjoyed as a stand alone.
The two main characters, quirky florist Georgie Russell, and attorney Nick Hammel, are madly in love. However, they have to work through their past, unsuccessful courtship, in order to move forward with their renewed attraction. Georgie has left three men at the altar and as a result, Nick has to decide if he loves Georgie enough to try again. Georgie wants to make amends with her past relationships, so resolving to apologize to her former fiancees, is on her bucket list for this year. Luckily, Georgie's wonderful group of wine-drinking girlfriends are loaded with advice and suggestions.
I truly recommend this book and the entire Second Chances series. To begin with, the cover draws the reader in. The combination of dark red against the muted gray photograph, along with the coordinated lettering, is a total attention grabber. Secondly, the heroine and hero of the story, Georgie and Nick, are real people, with histories and experiences that are easy to identify with and understand. Their relationship both in and out of the bedroom is hot and genuine, which allows the reader to easily feel their connection to each other as individuals and as a couple. Nick, an alpha male through and through, is a true representation of the many male characters Ms. Carr does a wonderful job of creating. Overall, a solid read.

The end of my wine girl series. Yes I know that's not the technical name but I love it. Last but most certainly not least is Georgie and Nick. Let me say this, the sparks flew immediately, of course we know why but wow! When the sex showed up? Tingles I tell you. Nothing like a dominant man! This story was amazing and so hard to put down that, let's face it, I didnt. This book is also, like the others in the series, could be read alone but if I were you, just invest in the whole thing. Its so worth it!
Sometimes the one who ran away is the one who's suppose to be ours forever. Sometimes giving a second chance is the hardest an most worthwhile thing one can do.
This beautiful story tells the it how it is, how both parties can sometimes blame themselves and that second chances aren't always that easy.
pretty much binged this 6 book series over the weekend. initially i was only going to read book one but decided to give them all a chance...
it was a fun series that follows 6 best friends and their journey to find love. nothing too show-stopping but they were all quick reads (less than 200 pages), and didn't require much brain power, which was exactly what i needed :)
Mari Carr saved the best for last in this Second Chances Series. Always You was my favorite of the series. I loved everything about this story and loved how it tied in all the previous books to give a wonderful closure with (hopeful) room to revisit these wine-girl-friends.
I’m so sad that the series of the wine girls have came to an end but I’m so glad to see Georgie finally getting her second chance with Nick. All they the series you just couldn’t denie the pull there was between them .. wonderful story and I love the ending ..
Seems like I have been waiting for Georgie’s story forever! I have enjoyed this entire series. The premise of a group of friends making New Year’s resolutions – and then sticking to them – was too good to pass up. This Second Chance series was rather well done.
Six women, all from different walks of life, and different life experience. The one thing that ties them all together is the condo complex they live in. They have met, liked each other and formed an amazingly tight knit group. Close enough that every Thursday they get together for wine and companionship, taking turns hosting this weekly event.
It is New Year’s Eve. The girls are celebrating – commiserating – together. Resolutions for the coming year are made. But not just any resolution. These resolutions actually become life changing/affirming actions taken by each woman to attain life goals. The stories are quite beautiful, and all different. As mentioned, each woman is from a different life experience and each story reflects that, in spite of some overlap in common activities. I love how the author weaves each book together but makes completely different stories.
Georgie’s resolutions – to look up all her ex-fiancés, there are three, and apologize to each. She needs to put them behind her so she can move on and find happiness. A rather noble goal if you ask me. The stories behind each “runaway bride” story is fun and entertaining. The resolution for each story is usually surprising and not at all what Georgie expected. But that is what makes life interesting.
If you haven’t read any of this series, any lover of erotic contemporary romance, with a bit of kink, needs to check it out. Start anywhere. Although I wouldn’t start with Say Something first. This one does give away some spoilers for the other books. But otherwise, they can each be read as stand-alone stories. They each cover the same time period, but from a different point of view.
Mari Carr has, again, written a fun and entertaining story that had my emotions all over the place. Say Something was a very nice conclusion to this wonderful series.

Second chances. We all want them. Some people don't deserve them. But we all want to have that chance to make things right between someone we've hurt or we've done wrong to.
We finally get to Georgie's story in Say Something. I'm not sure the title had anything to do with the story, but it's a title that can work on many plots, so I guess it's all good. I like how her character's love story was played out. I like that she was now mature to know what she really wanted and that she went after what she knew she wanted.
I liked the hero. Despite him being jaded and all, he was a great guy who had his heart broken but was still brave enough to go for it and give love another chance. Story-wise, Georgie and Nick's romance gave me a satisfying time that I enjoyed.
While you can still read this book as a standalone, it's so much better if you've read the previous books as well because it will give you a deeper background and understanding of the main characters as well as the secondary characters in the book. Say Something is a good book that's sweet and has some really good parts.
This series features six friends who make New Year's resolutions to change their lives. The stories run concurrently over the course of a year. This book is about Georgie Russell and Nick Hammel. Georgie is a free-spirit who has been a runaway bride three time. Her resolution is to make amends to the grooms she left at the alter and re-ignite things with the one who got away. Nick Hammel is a divorce lawyer who was devastated when Georgie ran out on their wedding. When he sees her after a year, he realizes he misses her. They had been friends before they were lovers, and they decide they can try to be friends again. Yeah, right! :-) This was a short and sexy story - I love how Mari Carr can write a short book but you don't feel like it was rushed. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the girls' stories!
The sixth book is Georgie's story. The runaway bride decides that her New Year's resolution will be to meet up with the three guys she left at the altar and explain her actions. She decides to tell them in order, but Nick is already close to her and they meet occasionally. Nick isn't sure how he feels about Georgie, although he admits there are lingering feelings there, and maybe there is on Georgie's part as well.
This one wasn't as interesting. Some clichéd moments where the hero saves the heroine. Lack of proper character development. Nothing bad, but nothing special either.
In an effort to find her happiness, Georgie decides to revisit old relationships in the hopes of righting wrongs. Realizing that she was thrice a runaway bride, Georgie takes a New Year's resolution for second chances and decides to seek out her exes to apologize. Along the way she runs into her most recent ex, Nick, and realized that her feelings are not as she expected.
This was a quick, but fun read. 4 out of 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I thought the book title and the story were inspired by Say something by A great big world. I was wrong though. I think this is the last book since all the girls have now accomplished their new years resolutions. I was expecting a little more emotional story to be honest but it's not a bad thing that wasn't I wanted to read Georges story for a long time and I was satisfied with the story I got. This is a second chance story and I am glad that it wasn't filled with unnecessary drama.
I love this series and so sad to see it come to an end. Nick and Georgie were so hot together and I was glad to finally find out what happened to them. I liked that their relationship was one built on a deep friendship before they became romantically involved. It was nice to see Georgie own up to her past mistakes as she works at a second chance with Nick. I truly enjoyed the friendships surrounding this tight knit group and the author did an amazing job with the storytelling.
I loved this so much. They both obviously loved each other and I loved how they missed each other's friendship so much. Georgie was so sweet. She knew she'd made a mistake and worked hard to make up for it. And Nick was lovely and even though he was hurt, he cared about her and couldnt resist her even while he tried to protect himself. It was wonderfully written.
I love this series. I loved reading about the wine girls and how they went about with fulfilling their New Year's resolution. This book is Georgie's turn. Georgie and Nick are hot together, and personally, I think their friendship just makes their relationship that much deeper. I am just sad that this is the last of the series. I wish there were more girls so that we could keep reading.
To a great series by the much talented author Mari Carr. Each of the Second Chance Couples took a chance and in the case of Georgie she took 3! But her heart only had room for just one-Nick! I loved this series thank you Mari Carr
The last book in the Second Chances series. I love how these two characters are totally opposite. Carefree v's OCD. You'll laugh out loud then almost cry at the emotions and back story of this unlikely pair. Happy Reading.
This made me happy. I've loved the whole series, the second chance theme is a nice one. Georgie and Nick's story was very sweet. I loved watching them come to terms with their feelings! Sad to see the 'wine girls' end, but loved all their HEAs!
Say Something by Mari Carr is the sixth book in the Second Chances Series. There was definitely chemistry between Nick and Georgie. Nick is one hot alpha and I really liked Georgie. The story kept me interested and what a great way to end the series.
Which is harder? Asking for forgiveness or accepting it? That's exactly what Georgie has a year to figure out? Is it too late to finally admit to her fear?
