As the exploration of vast structures on the surface of the asteroid Xibalba begins, more nightmarish secrets of a prehistoric cosmic war come crawling into the light. What soul-destroying truth lies buried in Xibalba’s immense tunnel network? What malignancies lie dreaming there? What is human? And what is NOT?
Bad things are ahead for our plucky crew of sigil-daubed astronauts as they approach the “evil” asteroid Xibalba; as if anything else could be expected when they’re greeted with a giant skull formation on the surface! That’s just the start for the doomed team as Nameless #3 is full of Lovecraftian nightmares lurking in the quiet darkness of space. Shall we enter? YesIthinksolet’s!
It's hard to really rate this one considering I have no idea what the fuck happened. That said, I'm one to appreciate the experience of authentic weirdness more than I am to dismiss it. After awhile, reading the same formula over and over again can get tedious and you behind to see the cracks that make a thing a thing. Nameless is just straight up bizarre wrapped up in an attempt at conventional storytelling. You won't soon forget this tale- and even if you do I get the impression you'll find some of this horrific imagery in your nightmares one day. Not for the faint of heart by any stretch of the imagination- nor for lovers of experimental ideas that are hard to pin down.
Tercera parte de la saga Nameless. El horror alcanza niveles insoportables al demostrarse la verdadera naturaleza del asteroide Xibalba. Violenta continuación de la fantástica obra de Grant Morrison. Muy recomendable.
Who needs character? Nameless #3 explores the asteroid that threatens to hurtle into Earth, and the crew brings back a terrifying creature/virus before Grant Morrison escapes into surreality. It's a terrifyingly tense issue that brings to mind the most successful of space horror.
Mission Control is under attack. The drones are unresponsive. The lock has chewed the key. The rock is alive and it's attacking the crew. And there's nothing they can do about it. Well, except for the mindfuck, deus ex machina plot-twist at the end where Nameless wakes up in a hospital, believing it's all a dream. But is it?
The skull on the first page! Event Horizon type issue! Weird hings keep happening! Nameless may have just unleashed HELL! They get a false beacon from the Doctor in charge...and then everything starts to unravel. The detail in the artwork is outstanding and the coloring is amazing. Can't get enough of this issues!
