Dr. Asyah is an Omani lady with an Egyptian accent and clothes style.
She is lovely in real life

in this book she is talking about Dr. Fatma Al Maamari,
An Omani lady who was born and raised in Zanzibar and then in Egypt.
She was the first Arabic lady to get a PHD from a European university in a very specific field of art (as i remember it was translation from greece or roman to English, or something).

The book consists of 3 parts; the first is interviews with people who knew Fatma; her family, relatives and friends.

I loved Fatma from the book, she is indeed a lady to be proud of. She was strong, firm, lovely, caring.

Felt sad for a word she said in her ~70th party celebration:
(لطالما اهتممت بالجميع طوال حياتي وكنت دائما أسأل الآخرين ماذا يريدون، لكن أحدا لم يهتم يوما أن يعرف ماذا أريد فعلا)
in some other words. I was surprised that some moments in the book brought tears to my eyes.
something i learned from the book and other life lessons also: If you didn't bother about what you want, no one else will give a damn, so you better take good care of your self and pamper it with no reason, so that at the end of your life, you don't regret that no one asked you what you want. It is certainly not selfishness. people here need really to change the idea of selfishness. there is nothing wrong with one taking care of him/her self before others.

2nd part of the book is a letter from Dr. Asyah to her grandmother Fatma, (she is not actually her direct grandmother, but Dr. Fatma also helped raising Dr. Asyah). Dr. Asyah thinks there are many common things between her and her grandma and she appreciates her emotionally and academically.

third part is pictures and certificates that Dr. Fatma got.

The book could have been written better, or could br re-written to make it more alive.
