I really wanted to like this book. The premise of a knight going off to slay a demon only to accidentally fall in love with it is so appealing to me. Unfortunately, the writing is terrible. The dialogue is so trite it makes me gag. The demon doesn't act like a demon, but a modern teenage girl. The knight wannabe also acts like a modern teenage girl, and doesn't do a damn thing befitting of a knight. I ended up dropping this book when it was revealed that the knight wannabe was sneaking off to go work at a maid cafe to raise funds, since the demon keeps eating her out of house and home. A maid cafe, right. In this medieval western fantasy setting. Yep. Alright. The demon finds her working at the maid cafe and orders everything on the menu and then doesn't pay for it. And despite this, despite the fact that she's purposefully burdening the knight wannabe and blackmailing her into taking care of her, stealing her money, and stealing her energy, it's portayed as something cute and romantic, and the knight wannabe develops feelings for her. This book was such a waste of my time.
