This was a cute read. I love the idea, I love the arts and I love the characters.
This version of musical geniuses is fantastic! This version of Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, Chopin and the others is soooooo cute! And I loved it.
Th story itself is not so special, to be honest, but the characters are so amazing that who cares about the story????? (I know, I know... I am shallow, so sue me!).

Volume Count: 5 Volumes

Classi9: Ren Taki has come all the way from Japan to Vienna to enroll in the Melite Conservatory of Music. This was a promise she made to her father, and when she finally got accepted to the school of her dreams, she was so excited for her new life in a new school.

However, when she runs into the famous Mozart, he tells her that the Melite is, in fact, an all boys’ school. Luckily, he’s a student there and helps her get in. The only problem is that Ren must hide her identity from all her classmates or else she and Mozart will both be expelled.

Ren thinks it’ll be a piece of cake, but her classmates aren’t making it easy for her. When you share a room with legends like Tchaikovsky, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Wagner, and Haydn, anything can happen.

Review: I enjoyed this series way more then I should have. XD

First, I’d like to talk about the beautiful art style! You can’t hear music when you’re reading, but the visuals are so beautiful whenever one of the characters will play music, that you can’t help but imagine what the song might sound like. The drawings are depicted from intense (virtuoso —Liszt) to playful (like Chopin). The characters are nicely drawn as well! I couldn’t help but fall in love with the drawings, they were so captivating!

Second, I had a hard time determining the time period. I already knew this would stray from the textbooks. (After all Mozart and Salieri were born around the 1700s, while others in the 1800s). But I couldn’t tell if the author was bringing modern day terms and objects to the past, or if the whole story was supposed to be a contemporary twist. At first, I took a look at all the clothing and the style of the buildings (outside) and imagined the time period around the 1800s, where the concept was “If all the greatest musicians knew each other when they were young” kind of thing. However, I saw electrical lamps and lighting, indoor plumbing, and interior designs of the school that didn’t match what I originally thought. So I thought around the lines of “If the greatest musicians met together today” or something or other. Really, I was stumped. I couldn’t find anything online about the time, so I just went with it, but I wished there was some clarification as to when the story took place.

Third, the ending. The manga series had to be cut short, which is why the ending had to be wrapped up so quickly. I, personally, like the idea of how the author ended it (perfect timing on that part), but I was saddened that the conclusion wasn’t as together. (There’s also the part with that Fake Beethoven. What happened to him? I thought something else would go down with him and Ren.) At least everything regarding the mystery of Ren’s father was concluded, so I have no complaints about that. (I was right! I knew there was something up about him.) (However, I wished it had its own chapter, that would’ve probably been better instead of jumbling each conclusion of each character… Wait, actually maybe it kind of works… Ignore me.)

I don’t really want to go in-depth of all the character traits (because there’s so many of them) (10 if you include Salieri) but just know that each of them follow lots of different and unique tropes. (Yes, it’s THAT type of manga.) Even Ren, whose bubbly spirit eventually changes everyone for the better. (That’s a typical protagonist trope, but one I still like because the protag is always adorable.) I had no complaints about any of the characters personalities, they were all funny, and sweet at times. (Well… Haydn you are the exception. There’s nothing sweet about you.) (He’s the prankster.) I just wished that the series could go on, so we could have more info on each of their backgrounds, but I was satisfied enough with the chapters that revolved around them individually.

I read this not really knowing what the true concept really was. The only thing Goodreads gave me was that Ren was a girl hiding her gender in order to study at a music school. That’s it. When I finally read it and found out that she’s going to school with musicians like Mozart and Beethoven, I immediately fell in love. I’m kind of a music nerd, but not a classical one. However, that didn’t stop me from fangirling. 🙂

Overall, this was a really fun read. I had a lot of laughs, and the characters were all very entertaining. I hope you find it great too!

Si bien la historia por ahora no tuvo ningún punto relevante (la verdad que es un shoujo bastante promedio por el momento) me gustó el concepto de las personificaciones de los músicos famosos y el arte.

I've been reading this series for a little while now and I'm caught up on the online chapters (thru chapter 13). I'm not sure how many chapters are in a volume or how many volumes are in this series.

This is a pretty good series, the premise sounds stupid when explained, but the author did a good job with it.

A school for gifted musicians where most of the greatest musicians have come to learn and hone their craft (such as Mozart and Chopin). But there's a catch, it's an all boys school and Ren is one of the Japanese composers, and female who accidentally got accepted into the school. She cannot let anyone find out that she is a girl.

Did I mention that all of the men are gorgeous?

Despite the flaws in the premise and that the author corrupted the way these composers should be remembered and shown, the series is really good. It provides a good way for a younger generation to learn that there are more than one or two great composers in history and (hopefully) teach them to have an appreciation for it.

The other wonderful thing about this series is that it teaches a powerful lesson about and to artists. Don't loose sight of what and who you are. You are an artist for yourself, for others, for your own reasons, don't loose sight of that, and don't ever give up on it.

Since I'm reading this online, as I said, I don't know the specifics of the volumes, so I'm hoping someone out there who does know puts up the information or gives it to someone who has the ability to do so.

Rating up to chapter 10.
First of all, this is reverse harem, folks. Expect to see a bunch of hot guys (actually, expect the great composers to be sparkling bishounens). And also expect it to be difficult to choose who exactly you like because they're all adorable. The vibes here is similar to Ouran High ; it's full of comedic moments, there's gender-bender, and the main character is not annoying. About time. The characters themselves aren't really that new, most of them are tropes, but it's a very engaging read anyway and it's funny to see how they all interact together. And oh! - the art is freaking gorgeous! Cliche sometimes, but it's not the infuriating kind. 10 chapters in and I still don't despise Ren, the female protagonist, and I in fact love her. That's clearly saying a lot, coming from me. I really just have to keep on reminding myself that this a manga. Fiction. There are many discrepancies when it comes to the characters of the composers (at least, from what I personally know), so it's best to keep that knowledge out of the picture and treat this as a wholly separate thing. If you like shoujo, comedy, gender bender, and harem, well, give it a go. I enjoyed it a lot, despite everything.

I'm a fan of assemble stories, The Avengers, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Van Helsing, Monster Squad. Now, this manga is an assemble of ... classic componists xD from Ludwig van Beethoven, Chopin, Wagner, Johann Sebastian Bach, Tchaikovsky, etc.

The story itself is about Taki Ren, a Japanese music enthusiast who went to study music at a world class music academy in Vienna. A little hiccup surfaced when said academy is actually an all-boys school, where Taki Ren is a girl.

Thanks to one of the students she befriended before entering the academy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, she and the Headmaster managed to have an agreement, as long as the students in her class won't find out that she's actually a girl, she could study there.

So Taki Ren, or Taki Rentaro, guided by Mozart went to disguise as a boy to study at the academy of her dream. The story is cute and hilarious. The personalities of these classic maestros might definitely inaccurate, but hey ... it's manga, when there's one about them being bishounen with manga tropes' personalities, then so be it xD

Now, onward to Vol. 2.

I cannot begin to explain how much I love this manga! Classi9 by Yoshimura Tsumuji is a beautiful manga that I cannot stop reading. It's killing me that I can't read the next chapters yet but I am willing to wait which show just how good it is if I'm willing to wait since I am a very impatient person. I love the comedy and the music that is put in, it has such beautiful art work too. I love Bach's reaction when he finds out that Renardo is a girl, I also especially love Beethoven and how cute he is! I really hope that I will get to read the rest soon and I think that everyone should read this too. And if you haven't... You haven't lived yet. All ages and is a great way to just relax and melt into the story and laugh with all of the characters.

I'll give it 3 stars instead of 2 because of nostalgia, good art, and I like the main character. Also I think it's really funny that a reverse harem manga with famous composers like Mozart exists. While this manga has made me happy in the past, half the love interests are annoying to me. Also, I think Tchaikovsky's character is distasteful because some moments in the story make him the "perverted/threatening gay" one. In short I have mixed feelings on this manga but I would recommend it to anyone who likes Ouran Highschool Host Club.
