The biggest selling DVD of all time comes to comics! Nemo, Dory and Marlin have become local heroes, and are recruited to embark on an all-new adventure. Their reef is mysteriously dying and no one knows why! Facing dangerous waters and incredible odds, Nemo travels the great blue sea to save the one thing that matters most of all--home.
Cute, but some elements of the story place a serious strain on suspension of disbelief. And considering the work features talking fish, the reader's suspension of disbelief needs to be pretty high to begin with. However, keep in mind that the intended audience was probably young children. From an adult perspective, I didn't think it was terrible, but I thought it could've been better. Did I like it? Yes. Would I reread it? Possibly. Would I recommend it? Maybe.
This was a fantastic sequel to the movie. It really showed how everyone's lives went on after the movie, and how they are still intertwined on a daily basis. And of course, they're all still going on adventures together! A very well done plot, and I could, of course, still hear all of the actor's voices in my head reading this. It takes Nemo, Merlin, Dory, and Squirt on an adventure to seek out answers concerning the sudden death of local coral. In the course of their mission they find Gil and the rest of the fish tank gang - so I was delightfully pleased to discover that they've all adjusted to ocean life! A must-read for any fan of the movie to tide us over until the next one!
Nemo, Dory, and Squirt are back in another exciting adventure. Something is killing the coral in their reef and all the creatures living there are on the verge of emergency evacuation. With the help of Marlin, Nemo's dad, the three young friends head out in search of the cause of this plague and a cure. The characters are true to their movie form, even absent-minded Dory. Look for more new undersea tales of Nemo in the future. Boom Kids! is also giving us more stories with the characters from Cars, Toy Story and the Incredibles.
I just really wasn't feeling this one. I think it didn't really translate well into a comic book. The illustrations were awesome though, and it was cool to see Amy Mebberson's artwork. I follow her on tumblr. I guess I didn't really take to "The Tribe", or Seth the squid. I guess seeing the movie really worked because you could see the water, the animation of the fish swimming...something was lost in the graphic novel.
For fans of Nemo, they'll enjoy this charming graphic novel that includes most of the characters from the movie. With great illustrations and a interesting storyline, readers will enjoy the book.
