After discovering that he is the reincarnation of a fallen ancient king, Abraham must travel aboard the fishing boat Zeebedee to confront an ancient evil that has plans to enslave humanity, and remake the planet to its whims. Abraham won’t be alone on his journey, as people, places, and things are not as they appear to be.
Novella - 14,000 words, approximately 50 5x8 pages
Warmache is a fast-paced epic fantasy short story. The protagonist was relatable and the story was exciting from the first page to the last. I enjoyed the way the weapon, a war axe called 'Warmache', came into play and its significance in the story. I'll be looking out for more by these authors (Mark Gardner and L. Fergus).

I enjoyed this, and felt that the author should have developed this into a full length book and if so, this could have been made into a masterpiece. As a novella, this fell a little short on my scale for a few reasons: You are thrown right into the story, but it took some time to figure out what was truly going on. While I expect many books starting you right in the fray, this felt more like confusion than mystery and due to that the beginning was harder for me to follow and get into. There was a solid start to all of the characters, but not enough time to develop them to their full potential. Lastly, just when I thought that the first task was done and the protagonist was going to move onto the next task, the book abruptly ended. This didn't feel like a good stopping place or even a "complete" short story.
I enjoyed this.It could have been longer to get more into the storyline.Samuel E.Hoke is a really good narrator.A mariner finds that he is the reincarnation of an ancient king.He has to go through trials to save the world.“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”
