okay, so if you decide to read this book, don't. BUY IT ON CD! it is so hilarious to listen to! the reader has a different voice for every character! he even sings! hahaha! so ben has been turned into a mouse (in the first book), and ever since that moment he has been battling evil forces that are set on destroying the world. in this book, ben and amber (the magic mouse that turned ben into a mouse in the first place) fight off an evil fly set on helping the evershade (the super evil) wreak havoc. my favorite part is meeting the governor of california, herald swartzenberg. so funny!
The best chapter I've ever read was in this book: Chapter 13. It's hilarious! Other than that, it was an easy read, of course, but I still enjoyed it because of the fantasy of it. :D
This was another delightful, fun adventure in the lives of Amber and Ben as once again they had to contend with a terrible evil threatening their world. Plenty of humour, magic, fantasy and fast-paced action carried me along on a captivating journey to the end.
Among the positive things I loved about the book were the clever, comical names of some of the characters--the governor of California, Harold Shortzenbeggar, the evil, mutant fly, Belle Z. Bug, and the Toad Warrior, Max. And, Chapter 13 was hilarious as well!
At times, the humour was almost too silly and juvenile for my liking, but it was great fun nevertheless, and I'm sure young children would really get a kick out of it.
I didn't think this book was as good as the first two, but it has some really funny parts and really clever parodies in it. For example, the evil, giant housefly is named Belle Z. Bug. And the governor of California is Harold Shortzenbegger. Some of it was really slapstick that adults would get a kick out of, but I doubt if children would realize what was being made fun of.
I was hoping the series would end with this book, but it looks like it's going to continue.
What a very good series of books this was. I laughed so hard. I listen to them at work, and had a tough time keeping in my emotions. So colorful, the author did such a great job with his description, I felt like I was there. A very good read for all.
Loved the series. Read it to the kids and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm in the characters and the world that Dave created. Looking forward to the next one!
I really enjoyed this book. My favorite of the Ravenspell series. So far. Very fun read. I think it would be a great one to read to your children or grandchildren.
This book is a bit odd and a bit silly. It's well suited for young children, but there are jokes and puns that only adults will appreciate. Adult characters are much more present in this book than the previous two. Overall, cute and short.
The villain this time is a big fly named Belle Z. Bug, who creates minions out of flies and other insects through marketing and pyramid schemes. Meanwhile, Max the Toad Warrior emerges from stasis (or something like that) to join the Ever Shade, who promises to be the biggest baddest villain ever ... for another book or series.
