3.5 stars - This textbook is easy to read and jam-packed with information. The images are helpful in understanding what certain video equipment looks like and how it is used. The definitions are clear and I learned a lot from reading this.

Not the most up to date version of book but contains the basics for "making it happen" on camera. This is a must for all serious videographers. I highly recommend getting the newest version (5.0) and then messing around with an actual camera. Sorry you're cell phone doesn't count but is a start.
