Pat Welch was born in Japan in 1957. After returning to the US she grew up in an assortment of small towns in the south until her family relocated to Florida. She has lived in the San Francisco Bay area since 1986.

This book was not that well written but still an enjoyable read. I think it should have been edited better, but maybe they didn't have the resources at the time it was published at Naiad. I enjoyed it because it takes place where I live. And who wouldn't enjoy reading a 90's mystery with a lesbian private eye who wants to save the abortion clinic? It totally stereotypical, but so much fun just because of that.
