I like the realistic approach this book takes. Cassidy while at a conference decides to have an one night stand with a stranger. While this night be dangerous, she wants to live wild for a change. She meets Lucas and they share a hot night together. Cassidy leaves in the morning and returns home. Lucas takes a job investigating the casino she works at and runs into her again. They get together several more times and fall for each other. Their pasts prevent them from speaking out about their love. Life interferes with some bad surprises. Lucas takes the chance and goes to Cassidy to confess his love and wins the jackpot when she admits she loves him as well.

This was a well-written novel that romance fans should enjoy. It was steamy without being overly graphic and the lead character, Cassidy, was quite likable. The author was skilled at giving dimension into the lives of Cassidy and Lucas, and readers will root for them to overcome any obstacles and be together. I also liked the unique gambling casino setting and the symbolism of whether Cassidy, a loner who is constantly putting others' needs before her own, will do something for herself and gamble on love. I will look for more novels by Lainey Bancroft. If you're a fan of romance novels, then don't miss this winner.
