Ant & Dec: The Story So Far: The Unauthorised Biography of Britain's Best-Loved TV Duo

Rate this book

With their boyish good looks, cheeky charm, and ease in front of the TV camera, Ant & Dec have truly endeared themselves to the British public, and their continuing popularity has won them a string of awards. This biography is an intimate, affectionate portrait of the men behind the TV stars. It charts their career from the early days as PJ and Duncan in the hit children’s drama Byker Grove, through their pop career to their TV hosting roles on hugely popular shows such as SM:tv Life, Pop Idol, and I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! Not only are they accomplished presenters but, more often than not, their hilarious, off-the-cuff banter steals the show. This insightful look also reveals what Ant and Dec’s friendship is like behind the scenes, and uncovers how their formative years shaped them for the startling fame that was to come. The last few years have seem them rocket to primetime stardom and have also brought some major changes in the boys’ private lives: Ant married long-term girlfriend Lisa Armstrong in 2006, and Dec had to deal with a sad split from his girlfriend of many years, Claire Buckfield. This is a fun, informative look at the boys who have captured the hearts of a nation. Saturday morning TV’s loss has been primetime TV’s gain and the pair’s genuine wit, infectious sense of fun, and the comradeship has guaranteed them a place in the household name hall of fame.

I loved reading about the journey of our favorite boys. This book is written very meticulous and factual with many details about their career path and personal life. My only complaint has to be the also very detailed recitals about every season of I'm A Celebrity... I had to skip pages and pages about celebrities I don't care about dealing with jungle struggles until it eventually went on to be about our boys again. This book is very informative and contains funny anecdotes and pictures that I didn't know yet. If I had to recommend a biography, however, I would advise anyone to read "Oh what a lovely pair!" instead.

This was for my book club category - celebrity memoirs.
Really enjoyed finding out more about Ant & Dec but the authors style of writing let the book down. Instead of focusing on their lives, childhood to adult etc it touched on this and concentrated on the to shows they present. We do not need to have chapter after chapter reciting I'm a celebrity series 1-4. We would of rather known what the pair get up to when not presenting in Australia!!

Not read biographies before and so glad i picked theirs as the first.

Was a really interesting read. It starts off back b4 the pair met and goes into loads of detail about what they were like, what they did and how they became friends in byker grove and went from strength to strength from there. The book goes into detail about them, their families and personal lives which as a fan of theirs I knew bits of but was good to pick up other things.

I knew they were worth a lot of money but it covers what they got paid for various events and shows and stuff and they are worth more than I thought!

Will be reading 1 of their others next as have all of them.

Took me such a long time to read this and when i finished it i just smiled. My first and most likely last biography.. i meant that in a good way, if i was gonna read anyones biography it was gonna be ant and decs. I really did enjoy it, which again i'm not used to the more fact based books :) Interesting to see how far they've come.
