Finding Home

Rate this book
Sometimes home isn't a place...but a person...or in Andy's case...people.

Andy had been running for a long time. From her mother, her sister, her ex-fiancee, from life it seemed. But when an emergency calls her home she finds more than she bargained for.

With a clearer vision she sees that things aren't like she remembers. Just maybe she can finally be a part of the family she always felt different from. And in the process learn that love can often come with more than one man at a time. And that maybe a ménage can last a lifetime.

Pretty darn smutty. Alright, there was an attempt at a story here, but most of it was...for want of a better word...smutty.:)

In a nutshell: Andrea (Andy) Ebans, left her Texas home after a broken engagement. Not only was it a broken engagement, Buxom, curvy, and petite, tomboy Andy has always felt inferior to her sleek, slim, model perfect sister. Not able to ever please her somewhat demanding mother, but her father's favorite, 24-year-old Andy's coming home after 3 years away because A lot has changed in the three years that Andy's been away: she's an erotic romance novelist, she's shed her tomboy image for a sex kitten image, and she has the experience to back up that image. That experience came at the hands of her first lover, the man who taught her all about kinky pleasure (including rough, dominating sex, and ménage with his best buddy C.J), and the man who broke her heart when he left her a year ago, 34-year-old black haired, blue-eyed, 6'2" accountant Jordan Mitchell.

Jordan...

After catching up with the family (and shocking her mother and sister and ex with her 'new look'), Andy sits down to dinner with the family and their guest--6'3" brown haired, blue-eyed hunk, land developer Jackson Williams (and doesn't he remind her a little of Jordan...)who's developing a spa-like retreat in the area with his two partners. Andy and Jackson make small talk, flirt, and the next thing you know, Jackson is propositioning Andy up against her car as she's getting ready to leave. Can he follow her home (she's staying at her aunt's old house)--or would she prefer his place? Andy figures she's grieved enough for her failed romance, and Jackson looks like he can make her forget about Jordan. No sooner do they get inside her door than they're doing it on the kitchen table...super smutty. But afterwards Jackson abruptly leaves--no cuddling, no pillow talk--what's up with that? Could it be that the usually love-'em-and-leave-'em Jackson is developing unwanted feelings for Andy already?

Jackson...
Photobucket

Cutting to the chase--Jordan unexpectedly shows up in town (how did he find her?), begging forgiveness for leaving her (there's a strange reason). Is it too late? Has Andy moved on with another man? Can he win her back? Can he introduce her to his brother (who he'd like to share her with--forever), or has she already...? Whoops! Now we get into some serious smut here...and I should stop. Let's just say that Jordan and Jackson keep Andy plenty occupied the rest of the way. Whew.

As for the actual story minus the sexual shenanigans...there were some issues discussed--the effects that a serious illness can have on every member of a family; the importance of forgiveness and the futility of holding grudges; communicating one's feelings and airing old hurts; and accepting who you are and loving yourself. But I'm afraid the over-the-top sex in this story overshadowed a bit what the author was trying to relate.

If you don't mind a lot of smutty action (okay, some of it was hot) with your little bit of story, you may enjoy this. I think I would've enjoyed this one a lot more if I got a little more detail on the characters, and felt a little more emotion for the characters. For the smut factor--4 1/2; for the story--3; which averages to 4 stars.

Warning: This book contains explicit sex (oral and anal); graphic language; and a m/f/m ménage. Not for the faint of heart!

Andy (Andrea) is a "successful" (she is never shown writing) ER author. She is back in her Texan hometown after she scrammed out of there when her fiancee dumped her for her sister and called off the wedding three yrs ago. She has to confront all her dyfunctional family relationships, her father having cancer, and her current lover & first love being (not identical) twins.

This, however, is not really what the book is about. All these things is just the framework for one continuous boinkfest. Since this is an ER, I have no problem with that. I readily admit that I read for the smut. The raunchier, the better. And Lacey Thorn can be pretty raunchy. (Altho I dont think this one is as raunchy as FANNING HER FLAME or the third BARE book but I might be splitting hairs.)

Which is why LT is one of my biggest Guilty Pleasures. I actually think she is a terrible writer. Her characterizations and scene transitions are crude and unsubtle. When she tries to write a heartwarming scene, I just groan because it's so bad and not in that so-bad-it's-good way that I like. But I don't care. As long as she keeps writing these boinkfests, I'll keep reading.

This is a horribly written book. And doesn't even come close to being believable. Everything is explained to death, and considering how short this book is, way too much sex going on in all directions. And what's worse, they all read like a blueprint of each other. Take A, insert into B, take C, insert into D. Never wavering away from this. And all that oral going on! Please. Oral does not happen every single time you have sex with someone. And multiple someones at that.

The book reads like it was written by a 14 year old boy who's seen way too much bad porn. Because let's face it, this isn't an erotica book (and don't even think about putting it on the romance shelf), this is bad porn.

And even the backstory isn't believeable. Nor is the plot. Actually, this might be the worst plot I've ever read. You have all that porn, and you kill of a character with cancer? Reality check is needed.

All that crying going on all the time, yeah, doesn't belong in porn OR erotica...

Oh, and real breasts? Always soft. You want firm, esp at DD size, you're looking for boobs with implants.

If you're used to reading quality books, and by quality I mean well written; stay as far away from this book as you can.

One tip to the author: Less is more.

Andy ran from her home town after learning that her fiancé wants to end their relationship. However its the person he wants to end for that's upsets her the most. It turns out leaving was the best decision she makes because she meets a man that understands her needs and desires better than her ex ever did. Jordan is a guy that Andy is able to explore her hidden desires with and all is well with them until he just disappears one day. Heartbroken over it she just doesn't understand what happened. Getting a call from her mom sends her packing to go back home and to where she'll have to face everything she ran from.

Getting home was easy the hard part is facing all the people you think you disappointed. Coming home because her father is ill is what brought Andy however it will love that keeps her there. At a dinner party her mother has her first night back she meets Jackson and they connect immediately. When she is leaving Jackson decides he needs to be going to and a walk to her car changes everything. After a passionate evening Jackson pulls back quick when he starts having some serious feeling for Andy. What neither expect was for Jordan to reappear. One things leads to another and a happy turn Andy finds out that Jackson is Jordan's brother whom he had wanted her to meet when they were first together.Amidst getting reacquainted with Jordan Andy is dealing with Her father's illness and the issues she had with her family before leaving.

This was an emotional story so I would keep the tissues handy. I loved this story and the characters just draw you into the story so you don't want to put it down until its finished. This was published before however this is the first time I've read it. Lacey Thorn is a phenomenal writer. It seems she can take you into many different worlds with her stories and I can't wait to read more from her. I highly recommend you read this and any of her other books you won't be disappointed.

You can come home.

This coming home story is bittersweet. Andrea is called home because her father isn't well. She ran to California thinking this chapter of her life was over. Little did she know it was only the beginning.
Andy hadn't been home in 3 years thanks to her ex-fiancée's infidelity a month before the wedding. He actually did her a favor because he was a jerk as far as i am concerned. I'm glad she wasn't tied to him because she wouldn't have spread her wings and experienced life or discovered what she needed to be happy.
Andy met Jackson Williams her first day back home and immediately jumped in with both feet. Little did she know he was the brother of the man that helped her blossom into the woman she was now.
Jordan Mitchell and his brother Jackson both want her to stay with them and create a life together. In this small town, that doesn't forget anything, she has to decide if she wants this enough to deal with the backlash that's coming.
This book was good, but for me, there was a lot of detail missing. There was nothing between Andy and her ex. No conversations, no interaction at all. Even though he's still in the picture there was nothing.
Andy and her mother had a disconnected relationship and I wanted more about them. The same with her sister. Also just a few lines about why her aunt ran years before wasn't enough.
This book was good but incomplete for me.
