I found Max Brand Dan Barry series absolutely awesome and I did read and really like Silvertip from the Silvertip series so I'm trying to read the series in order. Valley Thieves is the first one by date of publication and it's very very good as well. The Silvertip books are more traditional western compare to the Dan Barry series but they shared the same knack for storytelling, the same quality of writing and the same unique approach to the genre. Max Brand writing style is definitely unique and very high quality for the genre and I was pulled completely into this story. Barry Christian the main villain his very well portrayed and is a good fold for Silvertip. A traditional western by definition, Valley Thieves ends up being more than that thanks to Max Brand unique talent and concern in telling a good story over blowing the reader's mind with easy action set pieces.

Beginning of the adventure. Likeable and memorable characters. Simple story, action and great writing. Theres an energy and momentum and joy to Max Brand that I cannot wait to enjoy all year with 2026s reads.

A great start to Max Brand’s Silvertip series (some lists have The False Rider as Book #1). The series main character doesn’t appear for several chapters, yet is introduced very nicely.
