My What If...? Series are all standalone books.
This one is about Micah and Raife. They're housemates out of convenience only. Micah needs the rent money and Raife needs somewhere to study for his master's degree.
Micah is a serial dater. He might as well have a revolving door...
In total contrast, Raife rarely even thinks about dating - not that he isn't interested in having a love life. He totally believes in love and knows that he wants to find 'the one'.
Micah on the other hand, doesn't believe for one minute that 'the one' exists. He believed in love once but had his hopes dashed and now firmly believes in having fun and moving on.
Neither ever thought they'd fall in love - and definitely not with each other...

I had no trouble feeling the character's pain, tears and sorrow.
