This series also has a rich, alpha male and who doesn’t love to read about handsome, billionaires with hearts of gold? I know I love reading these kinds of books and writing them. I truly believe that one of the cornerstones of a great relationship is fabulous sex and my books have that and more.

This was a short quick read that I wished was longer. This was my first time reading this author. This book was like one orgy this book was light on a storyline, but this was a free read. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Introductions Necessary
Like many, this was my first introduction to Ellis O Day, La Petite Mort Club, and some of its players. I read this years ago and decided to revisit it again, as I patiently wait for LS to release a new book. 😉
While I've never forgotten the beginning or the ending, there are so many things that escaped or were buried in the recesses of my mind. Listening to this was a pleasure. Knowing some of these characters in different ways after reading some or all of their stories over time also changes how I enjoy this book.
Before I get caught up in the rest of the story again, let me just say that first kiss was... woo-wee... off. The. Charts! 🔥🥵🎉 Love it! ❤️🔥
Oh, Nick definitely delivers and some, but that didn't stop my heart from breaking for Sarah. She's obviously got some baggage to sort through. The kind that's messed her up in several ways.
I enjoyed the audio book, and I decided to also skim through the book for this re-read. (Does that count as two reads?) The narrators are Robert Hatchet and Dahlia Lynde. I always enjoy Robert, especially as Nick. I think this is my first time listening to Dahlia, and I like her as Sarah.

To begin with, I have to confess that I am not generally a consumer of written erotica, so you'll have to take my review with that particular grain of salt. But as I was browsing through the Goodreads Giveaways, I saw that the author was giving away the complete set of six, and offering the first volume on Kindle for free to everyone. Titillated by the promise of "hot, steamy, BDSM with love" and also suffering from an annoying case of insomnia, I decided to download it for shits and giggles.
So while I am not a connoisseur of written erotica, I do, however, consider myself well-versed in the subject of basic human decency, and therefore completely qualified to point out how this book is severely lacking in that department. First, though, I'll try to be fair and address the writing, the erotica per se, and things I liked and/or felt neutral about:
To begin with, these are not really books in a series; unless the first volume is a total outlier, this is more a single novel, serialized into (very short) episodes (Book 1 was 67 pages; I noticed that Book 2 was 30-something). Book 1 didn't so much end on a cliffhanger as it just stopped mid-story, so I don't really see the point in not getting the complete series, assuming Book 1 appeals to you.
Was it hot and steamy? Uhhhh… I guess? Again, not being someone who reads erotica, I don't have much to compare it to. I did have some initial doubts that the author was actually a woman, given some of the, um, technical details of the sexual activity; there were just too many things in there that main character Nick did to (the other main character) Sarah that would simply hurt, and not in that nice, wholesome S&M way! It did however have a reasonably plausible (if nauseating) plot, was well-edited with few errors, and author Ellis O. Day (pseudonym of L.S. O'Dea) redeemed herself as a probable actual woman in my mind by creating a complex, believable character in Sarah, even if her development was more through telling rather than showing.
Nick, on the other hand, was all over the place. He was a jerk, then he was kinda sorta nice, then he was a jerk again, and even though he shared narration duties with Sarah, I didn't get any sense of why he behaved the way he did except that this is the way the author supposes a dom acts. The author also confused me with her terminology: Sarah is labeled a switch, but at least in Book 1, all she means by that is that Sarah reserves the right to be a bratty bottom. Besides, there was absolutely no BDSM (or "love", for that matter) in Book 1, just some over-hyped and hard-to-follow vanilla sex with a big ol' honkin' side of bullying and overall assholery.
And that brings me to the biggest, most irredeemable issue with this book. Like Fifty Shades of Grey, this book squicks to the core over issues of power and consent. Meeting through a high-end, sex-based matchmaking service in which both parties are supposed to be mutually selecting a partner, Sarah is treated disrespectfully and like a objectified piece of meat at the outset (including by the owner of this sleazy, misogynistic "service" company). Sarah, as is par for the course in these sorts of books, ultimately just oozes desire and passion for the guy who acts most like a privileged, whiny dick throughout the whole "negotiation" process. I use the term "negotiation" loosely, as it contains such doozies as Nick does NOT want to use a condom, REQUIRES being on the penetrative end of anal sex (but, naturally, NOT the receiving end), wants to dictate and control every aspect of their meetings, and throws a fit when he doesn't get his way. Frankly, these anger control issues should have gotten him disqualified from consideration by Sarah, not to mention booted by the club owner as well, as flying off the handle at the smallest inferred slight is not what you want in a total stranger you're soliciting for kinky sex. At least Christian Grey kept his damn cool. So they sign a supposedly legally-binding contract – with no safe word, naturally! – and as we learn later, this contract apparently dictates that she "has" to do "anything" he wants her to, and go along with anything he wants her to do. This requirement, predictably, is not reciprocal. Jesusgod.
Basically, this just yet another attempt at BDSM erotica by someone outside the scene who apparently hasn't even done the the most fundamental and easy-to-obtain research. Instead, the author takes unrealistically "perfect" sex, slaps on the male character treating the female like shit (inside and outside of scenes) while very occasionally showing some flicker of human decency, and calling the whole thing BDSM.
I really do not enjoy excoriating books, especially ones by indie, emerging, or small press authors. But Interviewing For Her Lover: Six Nights Of Sin Series (Book 1) is more damaging than Fifty Shades, just as far off base from reality, and propagates horrible anti-woman stereotypes, so I really can't just let it go. Even if the rest of the series improves, it still can't make up for how Book 1 treats women.
Now I remember why I don't read this crap.

Easy to say when I signed up to read this I didn't read the fine print! So imagine my surprise to find this was a novella and a series! I am an impatient reader. Waiting for conclusions isn't something I do well!
Book One in the Six Nights of Sin Series is HOT! This book is almost all about the interview process to find Sarah's lover and by the end you get the first meeting...and it leaves you in suspense. This series is definitely erotic but there is an underlying story and that is what pulled me in. If this had just been about sex I could have easily moved on. But it wasn't. And I needed answers.
Did I mention I am impatient? I went and bought the first 6 books. And still don't have all the answers I seek. Sigh. I will now be stalking Miss Ellis O. Day to find out when the next series will be available.
If you are a fan of the novella series type reads and erotica is your thing...you are going to love this series!
Because it pulled me in and the underlying story is worth it, I am giving this read 5 stars.

I'm not usually one for short bursts of a continuing story, but this one had me hooked from the first page. Wonderfully written, it's a completely compelling read and the only thing I wanted when I reached the end was more. The author only begins to touch on these terrific characters and the world of the La Petite Morte Club, but there is so much packed into these pages. Nick and Sarah's story is erotic and engaging from the start, but that's not all it is. Sarah has a sadness about her that stems from a loss and Nick just knows that he must have her. They're both in this for their own reasons, but they just may get more than they bargained for.

I usually love Ellis O’Day books but this one just didn’t seem as good as the other ones I’ve read. I didn’t find any connection between the characters so it was hard to believe they were passionate about each other.

Bummed this ended on a to be continued. But I still enjoyed it. Sarah's interviewing potential lovers at an exclusive club and she's selected a few choice candidates. These men aren't shy about asking for what they want. Enter Nick, the boldest of the group and the one who wants Sarah the most. Sarah wants Nick too, and opposites definitely attract. Sarah's lost the man she loved, and no man could take his place in her heart. But she's very attracted to this pushy guy who knows what he wants and plays the boss man well. Nick is the epitome of an alpha hero. His dialogue is great, their foreplay is hot and a lot of fun to read. I do wish we got to know more about Nick, why he is the way he is, anything about his background. And while we get virtually nothing, I thought he softened a bit too soon. Hearing him tell Sarah about his dog, my gut told me that should have come later, after we saw things play out between them for a while. The build-up is great, the execution is ok, but Sarah's lingering feelings for Adam take a bucket of cold water to things where I wished she could have stayed in the moment. That said, I was bummed this ended on a to be continued. I saw it coming but hoped I was wrong. I may buy the next story so I can see what happens next. Either way, I'll definitely check out the preview for book 2.

This story was okay, but Sarah really kind of ruined it for me. She wanted it, but then didn't. I understand she missed Adam, but if she missed him that much, she shouldn't have tried to do anything with anyone anyway. Also, didn't she say that he cheated on her. That's why she didn't want to be home on Saturdays, but she also didn't trust anyone to watch her dog. Nick was definitely that saving grace, and I completely understand why he gets frustrated with Sarah. I might continue on with the series, but it's not top priority.

I didn't like either of them, but I really couldn't stand Sarah by the end, because lying and dishonesty is the same red flag for me as cheating. Because of her attitude(or can we call it as it is - stupidity) I also didn’t like spicy scenes at all, and how could I, when - I quote - “She didn’t want him…” Or… “He didn’t belong inside of her…” Or.. "She wanted this done…" WTF?! 3/10 just for the first half of a book.

2 at best I know this is a prequil but I have such a hard time reading this.. her ex is dead and she wants a lover for 8 weeks. Shes still not over her ex and her new parter and her fight like little kids. She starts to feel bad on night 1 and runs out at 4 am. Was really hoping I would like this and start a new series. Some books just arnt for everyone.

I downloaded Interviewing For Her Lover as a free novella from Amazon. This steamy read shows as 60+ pages on Amazon, 37 on Goodreads-- to my best estimation (and its free, so who cares, I suppose), it was about an hour's read. I really, really liked the author's writing style and the plot. Well done. On the downside, it is a serial, with different nights (I assume) for each episode. Do I think the list price of 2.99 each is reasonable for 30-40pages each. Nope, and that is the only reason I won't continue, unless the collection is offered as a set for a more reasonable cost.

The chemistry between Sarah and Nick was great, there was no doubt that these two were perfect together. This was a HOT quick read that left me wanting more, and since this is a series you bet I will be reading the rest of Nick and Sarah's story.

quick short read if you’re looking for spice but not much else. the mmc was giving bad vibes and not the good kind but also the fmc was starting to get a tad bit annoying considering the situation she put herself in. that being said i’ll probably read the rest maybe just to spice things up a little bit

I read the free copy of this and then bought many of the other La Petite Mort Club books. The sex is steaming hot, but the great thing about these stories is that the characters are so well-drawn that you care about them and want to know what happens to them

This is a good start for a series that kind of intrigued me, mainly because of the characters. Sarah wants an uncommitted relationship, short term, purely physical, at the end of which both partners will be satisfied. After some interviewing and negotiations, she selects Nick. I will not insist on what happens next because there are only 63 pages.
Being this the first book in the series, it just shows the beginning of their relationship. But we do find out a lot of the characters ‘personalities. Sarah is a strong woman, with traits that balance each other. She knows exactly what she wants, but in the same time, she has a low self-esteem when it comes to her looks. We get the smallest glimpse into her past and we can see she has her own issues to deal with. Nick is a man who doesn’t let a woman in charge. But he knows when to give in as well. Maybe out of conviction that in the end he will win. He seems arrogant, not in a disturbing way. There is one scene where he is superficial and it almost unnerved me. But I guess it’s understandable, because of the building frustration and all.
63 pages are definitely not enough, as it feels more like a teaser then an actual book. I did not understand some aspects of the story, which I would gladly discuss, were they not spoilers. But I am waiting on book no. 2 and I am hoping for some answers there. For the moment, I liked what I’ve read. Just when this book gets interesting, it ends. Don’t worry you’re given a preview (followed by a link) of the next book, in a SIX book series. I shouldn’t complain much this book was free and I should have paid attention to the length before adding it to my library.
The spicy scenes are… okay, and considering it was the cover art (not currently shown here) and the blurb that caught my attention I expected… better. This white cover, with red lettering, where they’re doing a tango would not have caught my attention like handcuffed girl in stockings that appears on my edition. Just looking at that cover again and I’m embarrassed to admit I missed the word “series” in the subtitle… but I missed the subtitle in tiny tiny letters on my phone, and might have avoided it.

Wow!! What would you do if you were still in love with a ghost. You missed the feel of a man and all that implies but didn't want to date or have any emotional entanglements? Ellis O. Day has taken us through Sarah's journey in Book 1 of "Six Nights of Sin". She's lost Adam several years ago and is still in love with his ghost. When she goes through La Petite Mort Club to find a sexual partner for what started out in negotiations as one night per week for eight weeks. Nick has stated he'd work with six weeks.
This is a hot, erotic romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat and your bits tingling from the point where the interviews are taken, through contract negotiations and the first night of the contract. Just enough pieces of the bigger picture are dropped to make your mind pick them up and want to follow where they lead.
What a great book and beginning of what is to become a great series at this rate. Well done!

Hot little number
Wow! This was a hot little number. It really kept my attention, especially for a short story. It left off at a good stopping point but letting you know there's even more in the next books.
So, there's 6 books. I take it every book is one night of Sarah and Nick's adventures. It's like a soap opera. You really get into the characters and love how Sarah takes no crap. Nick is confident and has women falling all over him. But Sarah leaves him being the one frustrated lol.
I wasn't sure what to expect. Sarah is lonely and signs up at some , idk what it's called, to choose a guy out of so many. There's interviews. We meet the guy she chooses and he also likes her. This is about their first night together and doesnt get kinky but leaves you wanting to see what happens when they meet again the next week. It's just right and written with taste. I liked the characters.

She only needs someone for an eight-week period only on Saturday nights. She goes through the interview process and narrows it down to seven men.She finds herself attracted to Nick whom she decides is the one she needs.
Nick demands more of her time and over a smaller period of time.Due to Sarah's circumstances, she can't give him more time than she can offer. So he relents as he really wants Sarah.
If you're looking for a short hot read this series is for you. There's lots of hot sex among the backstory of our characters. However, it does end with a cliffhanger but the full series of six books are available so you don't have to wait for the next book.

This was my introduction to Ellis O. Day's writing. "Interviewing For Her Lover" is a well-written story with our introduction to Sarah and Nick. Sarah's background is very vague, I had to keep turning the pages to find out what happened in her past that's turned her into a woman that doesn't feel worthy of love. Nick, on the other hand, is a very sexy man that oozes confidence. I was fortunate to catch this series on sale for the amazing price of 99 pennies. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens after book 6. If you enjoy stories with light BDSM and a lot of hot sex...THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!
