Among 15 books I read so far from Kotaro Isaka (author of Bullet Train), Modern Times ranks one of the best I love (the other one is Lush Life). This probably is the thickest book from the author. But the story plot is fast, unpredictable. Actually you can't use logic to read his book, I will just like enjoying a surrealistic journey while I spend the time to read his book. It is a bit like Tarantino/Murakami type of unpredictability. But it is all highly entertaining. Once I started the first pages, I cannot stop for the first 200 pages, then I found I really need to slow down to take a break.
