Everyone has a secret. Everyone has a weakness. And eventually, everyone pays the price. These seven short stories explore the macabre, the absurd and the poignant ways in which a life can end.
Sticky Ends is an extremely enjoyable horror anthology that jumps from subgenre to subgenre with astonishing ease -- riffs on Poe, Lovecraft, certain horror films of decades past I couldn't tell you without ruining a few good surprises... All the protagonists meet (spoiler?) sticky ends, but the author expertly manipulates the reader's emotions each time; From a well-deserved One Percenter to a lonely office worker to a seemingly complete innocent, every story will have you feeling differently about its own Sticky End.
As a long-time horror aficionado I may be inured to the genre's visceral indulgences, but this collection actually has some good shockers along with the laughs and pathos. Recommended!
