I read a lot of romance novels, mostly to pass the time without really having to think. Generally, I finish one, and all I think is something along the lines of "Hmm, that's done then." This time, I actually enjoyed the story. The romance was there, but it took a backseat to the actual plot, which I liked. I think this may be the first time I've ever given a Harlequin novel 4 stars.
This book is different from the others I’ve read from this author. It was good. It was clean, and there were positive mentions of God. I definitely appreciated those parts. It was a slow burn in a way, but the romance aspect was very low for this book. There was a lot more action and characters being separate in it.
This was a very quick read. It was a Mills and Boon but contained virtually no romance at all - it was actually a light thriller and enjoyable. If you wanted a light romance, this is not your book. If you want a light and pacy thriller, this is your book.
