True Crime books are a guilty pleasure for me. True Vampires is better than average as far as they go. The main theme in this is as much cannibalism as it is nerds who took their vampire role playing too serious and went overboard. Everything from murdering hillbilly vampire clans to a Japanese man who experimented with cannabilism while an exchange student in France. Because he was totally nuts he did his time in a mental institution in France and after a few years France released him to Japan thinking he would remain under lock and key there but because he was a nutter Japanese law allowed him to be released. The Japs being the warped bunch that they are made him a celebrity and gave him his own cooking show on television.

This book is about modern Vampires (Sanguinarian, Psychic Vampires) that are murderers & cannibals & committed crimes/murders.
The woman on the cover of the book is a German woman named Manuela Ruda she is a Sanguinarian Vampire/a Satanist and she sacrificed a man with her husband at the time Daniel Ruda (they are divorced)
They were both a Sanguinarian Vampire & a Satanist that believed if they sacrificed someone to Satan that it would please them.
Both lived a alternative, Goth/Satanist lifestyle, they slept in a coffin & drank human blood.
Both are delusional & mentally ill, a lot of people mentioned in the book will fit that category.
There is a mental illness known as Clinical Vampirism
(A.K.A Renfield's Syndrome) and it involves people believing they are a Vampire & need to consume blood to survive.
They are obsessed & addicted to drinking human/animal blood.
The mental illness called Cotard's Syndrome that involves people that believe they are already dying, dead & decaying despite still being alive, or that they don't exist it's bizarre.
The medical condition Porphyria a rare blood disorder that affects the skin, digestion, make the skin very sensitive to sunlight & that involves people needing to drink blood of animals like pig's blood.
There is no benefit to drinking human blood, however blood contains energy, the lifeforce of a person, in a spiritual way blood is powerful, the essence of a person and it can be used for the purpose of witchcraft.
Cotard's syndrome- People appear dead but are actually still alive, their heartbeat becomes very slow, barely noticeable & they are buried alive which is terrifying.

Clinical Vampirism & Clinical Lycanthropy isn't talked about much, nor is the clinical/psychiatric or spiritual aspect of Vampirism, Lycanthropy or Cannibalism.
There hasn't really been a clinical/psychiatric analysis of Cannibalism, the spiritual aspect of it or any type of analysis of Cannibalistic murders/occult crimes. Some Cannibals consume the brain of a Cannibalized corpse which leads to them contracting a disease called "Kuru" which is fatal within 2 years & it's similar to Mad-Cow disease.
This is the only book that has mentioned Clinical Vampirism, mental illnesses & delusions some people have about being a Vampire a blood-fetish, obsession or need/urge to drink human/animal blood or cannibalize human beings.
People are delusional, a narcissistic, attention-seeking, pathological liar that would say/do anything to impress people or to brag.
Satanists practice Ceremonial, Solomonic or Goetic magick, they develop a bond/connection with overtime with the devils, demons, entities, spirits, beings that they invoke.
Devil-worshippers automatically assume everything they think they know about Satanism is in films, music, books (it depends on the books, grimoires) that they read, or that just because they own the Satanic Bible & they claim to be a "𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭" that they are a Satanist which is delusional.
These people are disturbed, troubled, a outcast, a loner they want to be accepted, liked & think if they sacrifice people/animals it will automatically grant them what they want, but it doesn't work like that.
If your a serious Satanist or Occultist & you make a pact with a devil, demon, entity, spirit or being you have to work hard to earn what you have asked for as a reward for your hard work, determination, devotion, faith, belief.
Most people don't understand this about working with demons, you don't get given exactly what you want automatically for free, demons have free will & they can choose not to help you, it's their choice.
It's a energetic exchange, you are giving some of your energy in exchange for their influence, power & help to set things in motion to help you to manifest what you have asked so it will physically manifest in reality. But it doesn't happen instantly, it takes time, effort, energy.

The author has previously dated two serial killers which is odd.
It's unusual for a author to date serial killers but not unheard of.
Some people are sexually attracted to serial killers-
(Hybristophilia- sexualizing serial killers & when a person is sexually attracted to serial killers)
Some people are attracted to sadists either because they are just as depraved, sadistic, and a deviant, sexual sadist, or because they are submissive, a masochist or "𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐞"
The serial killer or sadist would have the dominant role, the willing participant that is their willing accomplice is usually submissive, or a masochist.
Gerard Schaefer and Henry Rollings.
(The "𝐆𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫" a serial killer that was the inspiration for the "𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞" killer & the inspiration for teenagers to stab a girl to death known as the "S𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬")

I have read various books about supposedly Satanic & Occult crimes which have elements of Satanism but that doesn't necessarily mean that the crime(s) or murders are actually Satanic.
Some crimes/murders are ritualistic and have elements or aspects of the occult.
Most Satanists are atheistic and they don't even believe that Satan or Lucifer or demons are real unless they are a Theistic Satanist but they still wouldn't condone kidnapping, raping, torturing people or animals it's against their rules, tenets or beliefs & spiritual/occult practices.
(Lucifer's origin is Roman & in Latin their name means ("𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫" or "𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭-𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫")
Most Satanists don't believe that either Satan or Lucifer are a real, celestial, interdimensional & powerful supernatural entity/being that actually exists.
Satanists don't sacrifice animals, humans including babies, or cannibalize them, however blood is a offering & most things that Satanists do in terms of witchcraft is symbolic.
The "𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜" proved the moral panic of anyone that specifically Christians that vilified, demonized anyone/anything that is different, alternative, misunderstood or anything they are ignorant of & they either don't agree with/are offended by what they don't fully understand because they hate/fear what they don't understand.
They condemn anyone/anything associated with it, hence fear-mongering people with made up nonsense.
People hate/fear what they don't understand & make no effort whatsoever to understand.
They would rather demonize people, ruin their reputation & label them as evil, when they are a loner/outcast, or they choose to be alternative, different, to follow their own path & there is nothing wrong with that, as long as no person/animal is harmed.
There's nothing wrong with being a Goth, Metalhead, Punk, a witch, Spiritual Vampire, Satanist or a Occultist, Demonologist

Manuela & Daniel Ruda both seem like people that aren't trusting of other people, both are sadomasochistic, a Satanist & Sanguinarian Vampire.
Daniel was pro-Nazism and Manuela was a Dominatrix.
Even if they aren't considered mentally ill, I think that both of them are delusional & suffering from psychosis which is related to their Satanic beliefs.
Both were diagnosed with severe narcissistic personality disorder so they are personality disordered, it would take 10 years of therapy to improve their character defects.
Most people by now have heard of Armin Meiwes the "𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠"
From a young age he had cannibalistic fantasies of eating his peers, until he made advertisements on various Deep Web chat rooms such as the now infamous "𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐟é"
Many people responded, to his advertisements then changed their minds when they realized that Armin was serious about his intention to butcher a man & cannibalise his corpse.
He lived out his sick fantasy related to the fairy tale Hansel & Gretel in real life.
Some of the people mentioned in the book are a Vampire or Cannibal the desire to drink the blood & consume the flesh of a human being is both Cannibalism & Vampirism.
Both coincides with each other one usually involves the other, so Vampires can be considered to be Cannibals.
Russia has the most necrophiles, rapists, cannibals that are non repentant, remorseless, sexual sadists & serial killers.
A lot of people mentioned in this book, think it's nothing to murder/multiple people so they can consume their blood & flesh, sell their limbs, bones, organs on the black market for a ritualistic purpose depending on which country they are from & the spiritual beliefs & practices of their country.

The most interesting/disturbing vampire/cannibal related murders/crimes are:
Daniel & Manuela Ruda
Nikolai Dzhumagaliev-"𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐠"
Issei Sagawa
Andrei Chikatilo
Matthew Hardman
Peter Kürten-"𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐟"
Fritz Harmann
Victor Ardisson
Ed Gein
Roderick Ferrell
Nico Claux "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬"
Richard Trenton Chase "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨"

A bizarre case of clinical vampirism would be Matthew Hardman, he's delusional, obsessed with vampires, immortality & this obsession lead him to commit the disturbing, grisly, sadistic, ritualistic, vampiric murder of Mabel Leyshon in Wales.
For whatever reason believed a German exchange student is a vampire & expected/forced her to bite him, so he could become a vampire/to become immortal before he committed the premeditated, ritualistic, vampiric murder of Mabel Leyshon.
It's creepy & disturbing to me how many people in the world are probably suffering from clinical vampirism, some people are in a murderous, vampiric, supposedly Satanic cult, or a coven of vampiric/Satanic witches, but Satanists don't torture, rape, murder & sacrifice people or animals, that is against their rules or tenets on earth.
Necrophilia (the sexual attraction to corpses & the desire to consume the blood & flesh of a corpse) & cannibalism are the last taboo aspects of society that only a minority of people would engage in for various reasons, it will always be fascinating, disturbing, macabre, misunderstood to the rest of society.
Vampirism in modern society, especially spiritual vampirism is often misunderstood in my opinion.
Spiritually blood is symbolic, it retains within it a lot of power, energy, the lifeforce of a living soul, blood & energy is the currency in the spiritual realm.
Clinical vampirism however is a mental health issue, that needs to be addressed, people should seek help, if they genuinely believe they are a vampire & have the psychological need/urge to drink human/animal blood to survive, there is not nutritional value to consume human/animal blood.
It can make you very sick physically, in terms of your health, bloodborne diseases exist in blood & can be transferred to you if you consume it.
Satanism is not evil & you're not required to dedicate your soul to Lucifer/other demons, your not expected/required to sacrifice people/animals either.
Satanism is a spiritual path of pain, demons can help people to deal with their shadow self, to overcome any pain, trauma or abuse they experienced in their lives.
It's a spiritual path of religious and spiritual/sexual freedom, you are your own God/Goddess, your responsible for your own behaviour, Satanists are atheists and don't believe that Satan or other demons exist, except for 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 they believe that Satan & demons are real.
Any portrayal of Satanists sacrificing people & animals is inaccurate, any murderer(s) that has a copy of The Satanic Bible isn't automatically make anyone a Satanist unless they join the 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 or 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐭.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧 actively disassociates themselves from anyone/any group of people that are "𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬" that are delusional, mentally ill murderers that have committed a occult crimes/murder(s) says a lot.
The authors mentions 𝐌𝐏𝐃-(𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫) but this mental illness/personality disorder is now known as 𝐃𝐈𝐃-(𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫)
Seans Sellers was possessed by a demon potentially due to his memory loss, not remembering particular things that happened when he blacked out, but this is also associated with mental illness as well, when people are violent, angry but they don't remember what they said/did or why.

It's quite shocking and disturbing to me that some of the people that are mentioned in the book that committed horrific, sadistic, disturbing occult crimes/ murders are a teennager or a young adult, some are impressionable, susceptible to violence or outside influence/manipulation from others.
There is no evidence to prove that people that regularly read about true crime, watch gory horror films, play violent video games or listen to Death Metal that they would commit crimes, such as grave-robbery/desecration, murder, vampirism or cannibalism among other things.
If you are already delusional, out of touch with reality, susceptible to violence, easily coerced, manipulated, controlled or influenced, and you are unstable or damaged mentally, emotionally, or psychologically then you would be more likely to commit a crime especially if you spend all of you time alone viewing violent content, which would include pornography as well.

The least interesting people to read about in this book are people that are a predatory, peadophile, that lured children/preyed on innocent children, it's depraved and it's sick.
It makes me angry that these types of people fool other people with their fake persona, while ingratiating themselves into the lives of trusting people, so they can get closer towards their children. They get away with their crimes, for a certain amount of time, until they are caught or there is enough evidence to prove their involvement in crimes/murders for them to be arrested.
Just because they seem nice, friendly on the surface doesn't mean they don't have disturbing, sick, perverse, sinister intentions, or sick fantasies.
Some drugs cartels practice witchcraft specifically Santeria, they respect, believe & worship La Santisima Muerte (the holy saint death) a female grim reaper Deity, they honour, venerate with worship, not all drug cartels practice witchcraft.
The Narco-Satanists are not Satanists Adolfo Jesus Constanza practiced a African spiritual practice known as Palo Mayombe. It did involve human sacrifice though.

Ottis Toole & Henry Lee Lucas aren't particularly interesting or pleasant to read about, due to the types of crimes they committed, but I will never understand why they would knowingly admit to commiting unsolved murders just for attention, in a vain attempt to seek fame, infamy which didn't really work in their favour.
The authorities could prove/disprove if they were responsible for very specific unsolved murders, due to the evidence and the knowledge they supposedly had about the crimes.
Many unsolved murders that will remain unsolved sadly due to lack of evidence, or a obvious suspect, motivation for the murders, no thanks to the boastful lies of two attention-seeking vile, serial killers.
I don't considered all of the crimes to be Vampiric, some of the people mentioned in this book are mentally ill, emotionally, mentally & psychologically disturbed/damaged, delusional, paranoid schizophrenic's, that committed sadistic, depraved, sick & disturbing crimes/supposedly vampiric murders.
Heather Wendorf always had the intention to kill her parents & she lied about being abused, i'm not sure if she was just friends with Roderick Ferrell or if she was his girlfriend, but he felt justified to protect her by murdering her parents & taking her away from them, because he genuinely believed that Heather was being abused.
Heather Wendorf should have been guilty by association or convicted for her intention to kill her parents, it was her plan all along and Roderick was more than willing to go ahead with her plan .
The fact-of-fact way Roderick explained what he did at the crime scene is disturbing and the fact that he intended to use a machete or a chainsaw makes it even worse.
Vampires don't mutilate, torture of rip the limbs off animals just for fun, for their sick pleasure, it's absolutely disgusting.
No vampire/vampiric crime/murder(s) is actually vampiric, they also don't live by the tenets, rules, spiritual beliefs of vampires in the spiritual/vampire community either.
The only person I would consider to be a genuine vampire would be Nico Claux, because he lived like a vampire.
Nico Claux is not like the rest of the people mentioned in this book that are a
"𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞" he never claimed to be something that he isn't, he isn't delusional, or mentally ill.

While I found the information in this book interesting, I was a little concerned about how lightly the author seemed to take the stories of the people she was writing about.

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart! London's True Vampires includes accounts of mass murderers, blood drinkers, cannibals, necrophiliacs, grave robbers and other such deviants. Also contains illustrations by Nico Claux, the Vampire of Paris.

Not just about people who drink blood, but also about serial killers who ate their victims. Quite informative!
