Samantha Hunter grew up in the Finger Lakes Region and now resides in Syracuse, NY with her husband. She showed early interest in being a writer when she signed her name as the author of an encyclopedia when she was seven years old. As an adult, she has published over 25 romance and mystery novels with new ones on the horizon.

Sam loves to travel and is always inspired by the places she's been, sharing her experiences with readers through her stories. She is also a serial hobbyist and volunteers for local animal shelters (which means she's always trying to figure out how to take more dogs and/or cats home!).

Miranda Carter is sick of waiting for Colin Jacobs to see her as more than a friend. Her plan is to seduce him until he can't say "No". But Colin doesn't want to hurt their friendship and walks away, ending up in an accident that causes him to lose his memory of the last few hours. Taking advantage of the circumstances, Miranda tells him that she seduced him before he left her apartment and was injured. Colin is worried when he doesn't remember the event and wants to experience everything he forgot.

Well, I thought this was a dumb plot. Miranda is in love with Colin. Colin is in love with Miranda. He is afraid that she is still in love with his brother who she dated ten years ago. Neither of them will talk to the other or admit their feelings. Miranda worries that his memory will return and he will blame her. Could you blame him??? The best part of this book was the secondary romance between the hero and heroine's best friends, Travis & Penny. My rating: 3 Stars.

Awful just awful!!!

Felt more like Dawson's Creek than what was supposed to be a "grown romance" by book, more angst than you can shake a stick and and problems that "might " have been cleared up easily if they'd just spent 5 minutes talking to each other...Lame!! This felt like such a bait and switch, the situation in the desc. sounded fun and light and fluffy and make be even slightly erotic ( well for harlequin blaze) any way, instead we get to slightly neurotic ppl with the H wanting nothing to do with the h romantically coz of some BS that has him wrongfully thinking she was in love with his brother ( never was just dated brother to make him jealous ,back fired of course) and still possibly hung on said bro. and doesn't wanna a replacement for what NEVER was.... But she too embarrassed to be honest and he stupidly thinking he's being noble when he's just being a putz!!!! Soo the " big night" never really happened per say , but due to the accident the idiot doesn't know he left her hurt and rejected all the while we're having a secondary romance pushed on us in the form of their two best friends which might have been nice if the primary romance wasn't such a dud and the couple in the would be 2nd romance weren't as daft as the primary couple!!!
You know it's bad when your skimming by the 2nd chapter :(
Not cute, sweet fluffy or erotic.... Lame and full angst like an episode of Dawson's Creek.... Soo thankful for refunds!!!!!

Lukewarm and Disappointing
2 stars

Despite this rather unique and unusual premise - there were rather a lot of problems with this book that stopped it from getting more than 2 stars from me.

Firstly, unfortunately all the characters are quite bland and it's hard to muster any support or sympathy for them. Miranda constantly swings between being a strong woman to being weak and whiney and she really carries on her lying too long for me to like her. Colin is also an uninspiring hero and he gets over his objections to a relationship with Miranda so quickly that you can barely believe it was the source of most of the conflict. Even the secondary characters can't be called interesting.

The sex scenes are brief and very lukewarm - this would usually suffice but it's a lot less than I would expect in a Blaze romance which is supposed to be a 'scorching hot sexy read'. Definitely disappointing.

There are also numerous random plot points throughout the book that added nothing to the story. The sexual harassment case, the dog abuser, Miranda's accident - it was as though there was a larger story but we only got to see a fraction of it.

Having said all that - there are still some good points to the book. It is a quick read that you could easily finish in an afternoon so it doesn't take up a lot of your time and concentration. The plot is definitely unique although I think that the author might have been more successful if she had treated the story with humour instead of trying to make it so dramatic. The writing is not bad and the story does hold your interest right through to the end which is definitely a plus point of any book.

Overall - this story isn't terrible and possibly more deserving of 2 and a half stars than of only 2. Having said that I would still suggest that you pass on this book, unless you are a fan of Samantha Hunter, and maybe pick up another Blaze book for a hotter more satisfying read.

Trying out the Blaze line. The local library has a very limited selection of Blaze titles. This one was friends to lovers. I thought it was competently written without being stellar writing. Hotness level was fairly hot. Didn't bleed over into erotica. Wasn't any hotter than most sex scenes in most mainstream non category romances out there. The plot made sense and was actually there. This wasn't just an excuse for the hero and heroine to hop into bed. There was a secondary romance in the book which I felt distracted just a bit and would have been a fine story to develop into its own full length book instead of cluttering up this one. Here it was the hero who had amnesia and the heroine who took advantage of it. I think the way the hero dealt with it when he found out was, while not the most grown up thing he could have done, was certainly not a knee jerk childish reaction either. So kudos to the author for avoiding the unnecessary break up just before the end. The subplot involving the hero was interesting also and another example of the author not taking the most obvious route. I might try another by this author.

I didn't mind this book. It was fine. I probably wouldn't read it again, but not because it was bad, just because it wasn't that good. It didn't hold my attention very well. The plot was interesting, but I found myself more interested in the subplot between Penny and Travis than I was in Miranda and Colin. Of course, I'm predisposed to really like redheads named Penny, and Travis was definitely more my kind of guy than Colin was. Normally, I love amnesia plots, but this one wasn't really up my aisle. There was nothing wrong with it, really, except for a few parts that were awkward or phrased in juvenile ways. All in all, not bad. Just not great either.

I enjoyed the the two sets of friends finally got together, with each group having someone that was not emotionally ready to risk going into a relationship with the other person. I just couldn't believe that Colin was so stupid to really believe that she still had feelings for his older brother after all those years and that made him not able to express his feelings for Miranda. I swear it made me want to slap some sense into both Colin and Penny to hurry up and get over their emotional block. It was terrible for Miranda to lie to Colin, but if she didn't they probably would just stay as friends.

A really quick Saturday read. The story between Penny and Travis fascinated me way more than Colin and Miranda- mostly because I disliked the way Miranda used Colin's amnesia to like to him.
