Many believers know in their heads that God cares about them. But it's hard to hold that truth in your heart when you're worn out and weary from the mundane, everyday battles and struggles--when you lose your temper again or give into that persistent temptation or feel paralyzed by overwhelming circumstances. The truth is that the Holy Spirit is right there--waiting for you to let him help. With warmth and encouragement, Sarah Bowling shows how he longs to be part of every situation you face in life, from the exciting, mountaintop experience to day-in, day-out hardships. She'll help you identify the daily challenges and problems and then match those up to the Holy Spirit for supernatural results. As you see how the Helper moved in the lives of the disciples and apostles, you'll begin to recognize the uniquely supernatural expressions of the Holy Spirit in your own daily life. Your faith will be encouraged as you discover how a Spirit-led life means Spirit-filled help, no matter what you may face.
I am reviewing a copy of In Step With the Spirit through Chosen Books and Netgalley:
In this book we are reminded that even as we are struggling, The Holy Spirit is right there waiting for us to let him help. The book reminds us too that the Holy Spirit is a Foreteller, meaning he often tells us what is going to happen before it happens.
The book points out that in order to be led by the Holy Spirit we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The author points out that being led by the Spirit is not always glorious or blissful but sometimes we can be led into the wilderness, and that often our experiences don't look like what we expect them too but that does not mean the experience can't still be amazing because it can.
Sarah Bowling goes on to describe the three kinds of closed doors that being those of relationships, destination and time.
We are reminded too that members of a supernatural family choose faith over doubt, that those who live by the Holy Spirits leading spread faith. We are reminded too that having a supernatural family is about moving with the Holy Spirit.
Bowling points out too that the lack of forgiveness hinders our walk.
I give In Step With the Spirit five out of five stars!
This was a superb book. I felt like the author was speaking authentically. It took me months to finish but I always found myself going back to it. The words lingered on my mind like fragrance. This was a beautiful spiritual book. It was truly written for our learning. I'm encouraged to read heavenly help. If you want to see how that went, feel free to add me. It will be on here soon. Thank you Sarah. I feel the yearning to be closer to the holy spirit! Alleluia!
In Step With The Spirit: Infusing Your Life With God's Presence And Power by Sarah Bowling is a personal testimony of the Holy Spirit's presence in Sarah's own life and ministry infused with Biblical examples and lessons, mostly based off of Paul's testimonials as recorded in the book of Acts.
Sarah uses her personal story to show us how the Holy Spirit can be a powerful ally to keep us following God's direction for our lives while also making us aware of the potential land mines that lay waiting for us to make a wrong step - and how to avoid them. Each chapter is filled with powerfully moving narratives to not only get us going in the right direction, but also make sure that we have a solid foundation established under our feet for the next leg of the journey.
Closing each chapter with a prayer as well as questions and simple activities designed to help us become more aware of the Holy Spirit's presence and more attuned to heeding His voice, Sarah helps guide us into a more personal relationship with God on a daily basis.
I enjoyed reading about Sarah's own journey, both in her early missions work and in Saving Moses, where she helps young children in need. Her perspectives on spirit-filled living made me rethink what it means to have the Holy Spirit in us, while bringing comfort to those times that it feels as though God isn't listening or may have left us wanting.
I would recommend this book for anyone seeking to have a closer personal relationship with God in the here and now, anyone who has ever felt as those their prayers weren't being heard, and anyone who wonders if God is really present during the seemingly mundane acts of daily living. 5/5 stars.

This book hit home. I was especially encouraged by the 5th chapter of the book, “Keep On Keeping On.” It reminded me of my mother. Sometimes it takes a good book to remind you to laugh and embrace cherished memories.
Each chapter is a challenge to your faith in that, you might see yourself through Sarah's experiences or those of others, which helps give insight into how to handle upcoming situations.
Each chapter contains a prayer and “Go Further” questions. The questions allow for the opportunity to apply what you learned.
Take some time reading this book, because it will be worth your effort.
