Hotshot attorney Ashley D'Angelo had taken refuge at her grandmother's tranquil home after a terrible case made her reevaluate everything -- even her successful career. Still, no matter what her sisters thought, the place wasn't magical. Ashley wouldn't succumb to any "Rose Cottage Curse" and wind up falling head over heels in love there!
But after a minor fender-bender provided a memorable first meeting, Ashley couldn't believe how compelled she was by salt-of-the-earth Josh Madison -- a man totally unlike the high-powered piranhas she was used to dating. Or was he? Because there was far more to Josh than met the eye. And when Ashley learned his secret, would a dream love affair come to a nightmarish conclusion?
With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.
"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."
The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.
Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.
A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.
In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.
When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.
I probably liked this book more than the previous ones from Rose Cottage Sisters series. Still, I found some flaws that were bothering me through the book.
The first flaw was probably how fast both Josh and Ashley started to think about marriage. Seriously, two weeks have passed, you don't even know what the guy is doing for a living, and you are thinking about marrying him??? That's unrealistic.
The secong thing that bothered me was how Ashley was described. She is supposed to be 150 cm height, but has long legs. That's impossible. I can't even imagine a grown-up woman being so short. Is she a dwarf or something?
Despite that, I liked this book more thant the others. Probably because it didn't only talk about love, but about work, career as well. It was interesting to read about Ashley's struggles, how she couldn't decide what she wants to do with her future after she made a big mistake at work. So this book had more diversity, I guess.
By the way, the lithuanian cover of this book is so much much prettier than the editions I can find on goodreads. Seriously, why the lithuanian edition of this book isn't avaible here?
Sweet, Ashley comes to Rose Cottage after a trial she won went bad, Josh was drawn to her made her relax...fishing coffee. Helped her through her career crisis, then found out he too was a lawyer.
Ashley D'Angelo, a lawyer, had a fender bender with Josh Madison. He was so different from all the men she had known, insisting to pay for her car to be repaired.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it certainly won't be my last! This is the third book of The Rose Cottage Sisters series which follows the romances of the D'Angelo sisters. In this book, Ashley, the oldest sister and powerful attorney in Boston takes refuge at her grandmother's cottage in Virginia to reevaluate everything after she gets a guilty man acquitted! On her first night in Virginia, she literally crashes into Josh, a laid back gorgeous man, so different from the high powered men she was used to dating, but he has a secret! Will his secret be the end of their chance at a happy future together? A sweet romance that will keep you turning pages just to see what happens next!! I loved it!
I really enjoyed this book since my son is a lawyer. Ashley is a strong character with problems that modern day lawyers face. My favorite in this series so far.
Jadi ya ceritanya so so aja.
