Jennie Snow, aka former mafia princess Maria Castone, lives a secret life. In exchange for her testimony, the Witness Protection Program gave her a new identity — and a new job. She's part of the crack computer crime team The HotWires. Kinda like hiding in plain sight?
Cop Nathan Reilly is young, brash and hot for his gorgeous coworker Jennie. But his sexual pursuit is sharply derailed when Internal Affairs orders him to secretly investigate her. How can his loving sexy Jennie be an informer? But doubts surface when Jennie — or is it really Maria? — abruptly leaves town. And Nathan must find her first to uncover the truth.

What an awesome book. I am so disappointed that it is finished. I wish it could have went on forever! I loved the main characters Jennie and Nate. The secondary characters fit in just like family. It is one i would read again. I gave it 5 stars!
The best harlequin I’ve read in a while. Likable characters, believable motivations and with a good, solid suspense plot. The romance was especially well written and I felt that their feelings for each other was very tangible throughout. The plot with her brother, Tony, was especially moving and realistic. There is a moment later in the book in which Nathan and Maria tell their side of the story to each other, and Nathan starts laughing because of the intensity of the situation they are in. I found that particularly spot on.
One of the best compliments I can give this book is that it doesn’t go the easy route that I often see in romantic suspense and mystery stories. Which is this: The hero often suspects the worst of the heroine. That's not the case here: Nathan has been hired to investigate Jennie (Aka Maria), but he actually guesses right from the beginning and believes the best of her. He needs proof, yes, but he also uses his gut instinct and goes from there. The rest of the cast of characters were a delight and I look forward to reading more by this author.
