A rugby player with a haunting past. A girl with a secret. One summer of intense passion in London. Oliver I’ve spent the last eight years trying to rebuild my rugby career, and finally I’m back on top of my game. But one thing is missing; I need Michelle Portman back in my life. Without her, all my success on the field is meaningless. Michelle hates me and I can’t blame her. If she knew the truth she’d hate me even more. I’m not sure I can ever make it up to her, but I’m damn sure going to try. Michelle I fell for Oliver Cornish the second I laid eyes on him, and I was naive enough to think he might like me too. I was wrong. Eight years later, Oliver is back in my life and he seems determined to make amends. But he’s keeping something from me. Something related to the attack that left my sister scarred for life. And he’s not the only one with a secret. Redemption is a stand-alone novel with no cliffhanger and a HEA ending.
Jessica Ashe is a twenty-six year old lawyer, who has turned her hand to her real passion--writing about alpha males and bad boys. She's likely living vicariously through the heroines in her book until she finds an alpha male of her own.
I almost didn't read this because was another stepbrother romance. None I have read can hold a candle to "Forbidden" by Tabitha Suzuma and they shared the same parents (or different fathers). Not that this is anything remotely like "Forbidden" however, it doesn't have the whole I naughty banging hot as hades stepbrother behind your parents back. I think that's why I enjoyed reading it. It felt like just another romance story. Where I would have only given the story two stars the author managed to keep me entertained and that is the joy of reading in its basic form. For now, I think I just might just try out Ashe's debut stepbrother romance novel Escape as the sneak peek provided was that snap funny read.
The story of Michelle the American girl with Oliver the rugby Englishman player. The story was sweet for a step brother romance. Michelle was in love with Olly (Oliver) since she was 16 years old. But a tragic event occurred and left Michelle and her sister scarred. It took 8 years for them to see each other again. Michelle sister Maise was amazing person dealing with a life changing disfigurement. She is an Inspiration! But some of the things that came out of her mouth was a little crazy. Oliver had to deal with demons for 8 years but was determined to get Michelle back. I have a better understanding of rugby compared to American football. Storyline: 3 Heat:3 Overall: 3 Recommend: sure
I loved Oliver and how 8 years had a positive change on him but even on the flashbacks he was always such a sweet caring person. The chemistry between Oliver and Michelle was good too! This is my first read from this author and after enjoying so much I will definitely read more from her.
Bookies, blackmail, murder, attempted murder, dirty cops.... 8 years apart will end when Oliver brings is stepsisters back to England and for Michelle, Oliver broken her heart all those years ago and not seeing how he will repair her hurts. But Olly being Olly he will do right by her... But this does start with him in a hotel room with some women, then the next he's got his s. sisters there and trying to win Michelle.
Stepbrother to friend to enemy...can we go from that to lovers? Sins of omission can be haunting. Could Michelle and Maisie forgive him; can he forgive himself for them?
After having messed up the best thing in his life, Oliver is trying to make amends. World cup, sure sounds good but not his big mistake. It's just a nice bonus. Michelle has no desire to make nice with Oliver, all her desires are for naughty things with him. Desire isn't everything and they have a long way to go but it seems as though the shadows are closing in on them. Fear is a strong motivator and Oliver is trying to keep bad things from happening. It's good story with a bit of intrigue and some steamy tension.
This book took me by surprise. I was lucky to win this ebook through a giveaway and I'm glad that I gave it a shot. I love a little intrigue and this book definitely had that. I also really love books set outside the US. I enjoy seeing the differences in culture and language come out throughout the book. Once I hit 75% I couldn't put it down! Don't underestimate this book.
It was interesting as far as learning Rugby and the MC characters. The parents barely influenced the "step-brother/sister" situation. Having a sister playing Rugby in US with boys seemed odd. The sexy times was good between Oliver and what's her name. I liked the whole suspense situation except that the young girl had acid flung in her face. Poor thing. One star off for that.
I loved it. Couldn't put t down. Also comes with to additional books at the end: Foster and The bonus books are just as good as the main book. A tragedy that he tried not to happen, separated by time and location, his desperate battle to bring her to him and forgiveness. A heart-warming storing that I couldn't stop reading until I was finished.
received an ARC copy for honest review absolutely loved this story of michelle and oliver and how they reconnected after 8 years and with the story of maisie and shaun . fantastiv book.
