Carbon by Elise Noble is a sizzling and creative twist on romantic suspense and forbidden love, that makes me hope that my fantasies and dreams can come true, too, in an adult novel that kept me on my toes and I read in one sitting.

Love it!
What I found funny:
1) “Was that what Mr. Midnight wanted to do? Have me bend myself over the furniture while he got his rocks off? Talk about forward. Because the idea was...it was...uh, kind of hot, actually. Augusta!” I like the way you write. You make it sound like she was thinking it was scandalous, but instead she admitted that it was hot. I really like that about her.
2) ““I hate this place,” I mumbled. “Now, now, ma’am, I know you’ve had a shock.” “It’s not just that. My mother’s like Satan in a dress.” “Maybe a nice cup of tea would help?” I noticed she didn’t disagree with me.”
3) ““Where’s Emmy?” Black asked when he walked in three hours later. Xav, Nye, and Luke all looked at each other. Their expressions were clear: Do you want to tell him or should I? Because clearly Emmy hadn’t.” These three 🤣
4) ““Shit shit shit. I’m going to need some fancy underwear to get out of this one.” “For who?” Xav asked. “Black, you asshole. If it was Gideon, I wouldn’t be wearing any. Fuck!” Sofia hopped down off the table. “I need to sort out my hair.” “You have a boyfriend now,” Xav reminded her. “Yes, but this is Gideon.” Xav’s grin only got wider. “I need to get popcorn.”” Xav was so hilarious in this. Love it!
5) The part where Gideon arrived and Black was pissed and got possessive over Emmy, while Sofia sighed and Emmy bit her lip when Gideon just looked at them. 💀
6)”Xav wandered in and took in the scene. “Someone told him, then?” “Nah, Fia choked on a gummy bear and Ben’s busy fucking up the Heimlich manoeuvre,” Emmy said.” Oh Emmy 💀
7) “Emmy’s sorry she shot you, by the way.” “I am?” Emmy asked.” I’m dying 💀
8) ““Exactly that,” Nye said. “Emmy sent a memo round saying the first man to take the fruits of his labours down to the lab would get an extra week of paid holiday. Every toilet stall was full within seconds.” Gideon took a sip of his coffee. “S’il vous plait, that is not an image I want in my mind.”” Lmao.
9) “My knees buckled, and Leroux’s knuckles whistled past and connected with a tree. “Bitch!” Okay, I understood that one.” I love that during some terrifying action, you managed to make me laugh with the last sentence.
10) ““Leroux’s escaped,” I told her, ashamed of the quake in my voice. “Yeah, I know. Have we got any chocolate milk left?” “Did you even understand what I said?” “Leroux’s escaped. Not surprised really. The security at the hospital was atrocious.” “He’s on the loose! What if he hurts someone else? What if he vanishes again?” “Relax, would you? Dammit, no chocolate. Strawberry milkshake will have to do.”” Emmy’s so calm 💀
This was weird:
1) “A shiver rippled through me as Nye turned to Luke. “Have you heard anything?” “Mack said if I lent a hand, she’d dress up in kinky underwear.”” That wasn’t the answer he asked for…
SPOILER and what bothers me:
Black loved Emmy and made all her guys leave, but when he “died”, how come they didn’t come back? It was just obvious during laters books that G and J was crazy about her, especially in book “Out of the Blue”. I understand that you had to build it up, but it just bothers me a bit.

Great story
Loved this book. I bought it a long time ago but thought I had already read it. I happened to look into my not read book shelf and saw it there. Once i started reading it I realized I never had. Here i sit around just waiting for another book only to find out I had one all along. I thought the book was great. Loved the story and the characters. It was weird to read and not see alot of the characters in the books out now. I didn't realize how long ago I had the book. Just great, if noting else we should go through and re read all Elise' books again. It was fun.

Another fabulous book by Elise Noble. I love the extension of the Blackwood family. We got to see some more of Emmy and Black along with several characters introduced in prior books. The introduction of the new characters made for a great storyline that was fun to read. And as always, a happy ending that keeps you anxiously waiting for the next installment! With that said, this is a stand alone book that can be enjoyed on its own although I think it is much better to have the back story on some of the recurring characters.

Oh my! This is my favourite Blackwood Elements book so far! A shy writer of sexy historical romance books, the mysterious Mr. Midnight who brings one of her books to life, a murder, mysterious pasts and the whole of Blackwood Security. Cheering and cringing and sitting on the edge of my seat. This story took me through a range of emotions as Augusta learns to stand up for herself and the man she loves. So many twists and turns as Blackwood Security does what it does so well. I'm grinning as I'm writing this review. Excellent book!

Another Blackwood book I just couldn’t put down. The first half of the book was mostly drama and steamy sex so I wasn’t sure if I’d opened the right book on my kindle. Where was the action? But then it happened at which point it all came together. Amazing intertwining plots with twists. I really loved this book. I love how the Blackwood characters make appearances and their sense of loyalty and family. I feel like I know each of them after having worked through Blackwood Security, Blackwood UK and now Elements. Well done, Elise, you are truly gifted!

I also read as part of a box set of the first three Elements series novels.
At first, I thought the references to the historical romance scenes were a bit cheesy and unrealistic that Augusta would actually meet a stranger at midnight for sex, but the story quickly grew on me as time went on. There were characters you love to hate (eg, her mother deserved a good wake-up call and a lesson in how not to be a snobby bitch) and of course new and familiar characters to round out the story. The list of Blackwood staff seems to grow with each story I read. Interesting & sad twists in the story kept it moving at a fast pace. As always, well written and the Blackwood team get the job done when an "issue" becomes a "problem to be solved".
There is another novella called "Meet Me At Midnight" available from the author, in which the first
11 chapters are identical, but it is a much shorter story with a different ending. There is also no murder or mayhem or involvement of the Blackwood Security team - just for something a little different!

I was hooked in ‘Meet me at midnight’ but in the end it was not the HEA that I hoped for. That for I read this one too. Now I had the HEA I wished for but this story was more of a thriller than a romance.

WOW, excellent storyline, great characters. Absolutely love the back stories on these characters. The Blackwood family is amazing. Related or not they go the distance.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Blackwood world. The plot was super interesting and took some turns that I really did not see coming. I loved how it included all of my favorite characters, and added some new ones as well. I can't wait to see what comes next!

Fan..fucking..tastical, I couldn't stop turning d pages once I start nor could I stop laughing my head off, I so love this new addition to the Blackwood series as its packed filled wit romance, suspense, action n some twist n thrills I didn't see coming, then there's my favourite Blackwood characters wit Black n Emmy leading the team. A story of long love lost n found with Blackwood magical touch that makes you want read every other Blackwood book.

This book is totally worth reading. It starts out a little different from what I'm use to when it comes to Elise but it does not disappoint. I love this author and her books are always a most read. And I'm sure you will need a cold shower after the first few chapters. Don't take my word grab a copy of your own and enter Augusta's world and you will never look back. I DIDNT!!!

Oh my God!!!so much action packed,romantic,sensual,suspense and full of thrilling experience....I loved this book...and there's nothing better than to watch entire blackwood team in action with Emmy and Black leading the team....the book is just amazing!!!!!!

Carbon is another wonderful book by Elise Noble, an addition to the Blackwood Elements Series. It is very well written and has a very nice plot with a good amount of thrill and sexy scenes. Everyone should read it.

Brilliantly written, fast paced, action packed adventure from my favourite author. Augusta's life became very interesting and unpredictable very fast. Absolutely loved every twist. For a mature audience due to graphic content.

Whew...What a plot!
Somehow....Elise manages to pull together a plot from every corner of the globe and make it work. Love the characters from Blackwood and the adventures! This author doesn't disappoint! I recommend!

awesome.. I just could not stop reading until finished. The mystery of Mr.Midnight's character withholds the magic...hats off to Elise Noble for creating such fabulous characters
