Charlotte Hopkirk is determined to admire her boss from afar--after all, gorgeous Italian Marco Delmari seems to prefer impossibly slim supermodel types, and Charlie's curvaceous figure means she certainly doesn't fit that description!
Then, on a business trip to Tuscany, the chemistry between them finally explodes--Charlie's never known passion like it! And Marco's obviously equally impressed, because now he's promoting her--from personal assistant to convenient mistress!
Kathryn Ross is a professional beauty therapist, but writing is her first love. At thirteen she was editor of her school magazine and wrote a play for a competition, and won. Ten years later she was accepted by Mills & Boon, who were the only publishers she ever approached with her work. Kathryn lives in Lancashire, is married and has inherited two delightful stepsons. She has written over twenty novels now and is still as much in love with writing as ever and never plans to stop.
A fun quick read about two people deeply attracted to one another, but afraid to admit it. I really enjoyed it. The book was light, fun without all that heavy, traditional angst driven baggage. This is just about two people coming at a relationship from different angles finding their way towards one another.
I loved the hero, well written, caring, sexy, charismatic all the things you love in a hero without the asshat moments. The heroine was great.
Some might find this a bit tame relative to other HP's, but I found it enjoyable. Their differing attitudes towards love and relationship is what kept the tension going.
I was soooooo bored reading this one it really didn't do anything for me. H is a smug asshat who is a Dr who writes books. He's decided love isn't really a thing its all about compatibility and lust. He treats the h like that pretty much through the entire book and even speaks about their relationship in those terms in an interview. He deserved kicking to the kerb right then.
h is a whiny woman with no self esteem and a deadbeat ex who hardly sees their child. Perfect for the "H" to cut his parenting teeth on! She is of course a seekrit romantic who lusts after the hot H but who she think isn't interested in her so she lies about her romantic intentions to hook him.
Of course it all ends in literal tears because of course shes in love and she thinks he isn't theres a mischief making wanna be OW too to cause bother. I totally didn't believe the H was in love with the h I think he really does believe his own press about lust and compatibility otherwise all his written work would be complete dross and not sell any more copies.
Oh well hopefully my next one is better

Marco was Charlie's boss and a doctor who specialized in romances and emotions of the heart, more typically that you shouldn't have any. It should just be smooth and emotionless, therefore you don't have high expectations. When he met Charlie and she started working for him, that all went out the window.
Charlie was working for Marco, it was love at first sight but she had been hurt before and now has a child to look out for first. He ex-husband Greg left her along and pregnant, taking half of their money. Greg has very little time for their son and Charlie feels he is missing out on having a father figure. So when Marco starts taking an interest, she's excited.
When Charlie and Marco get together, it's passionate, dramatic and overall wonderful. He is the perfect father figure for her son, so far. Not to mention the fact that he is good in bed but she's in love with Marco and she can't handle anything less than love. Will Marco be able to love her?
I think the book was wonderful, the emotions were high and I of course love the happy endings. The only issue with the book is the publicist, she's a harpy and always trying to screw things up between Marco and Charlie. If she was based on a character in real life, I'd of smacked her.
This book is a light book to read inbetween other books you maybe have shelved. I wouldn't make time to read this book, but it was great to just pastime until the next great book.
Didn't like it, not a fan of heroine being a single mother and that hero had so many girlfriends in the short 6 months that heroine worked for him. I didn't like the plot or the characters. Np.
I really liked this book. The only downside was the harpy trollop of a publicist who kept meddling because she was a jealous ninny. Also, the constant hammering of love really shouldn't be the basis for a relationship and yadda yadda. It wasn't said once but often, very often and it got a touch annoying. Otherwise, it was a rather good book.
