(please, forgive any writing mistakes here)

This is the most complete autobiography by someone with TS I've ever read - I loved the other ones too, but this one has more about the everyday life of the author, and just as good an amount of personal thoughts - which I enjoy reading from all of the autobiographies I've found.

When I began to read it, I did something I never do with any of my books: started to highlight my favorite quotes/parts. Next thing I knew, I was marking almost the entire thing - very few pages don't have at least one line "spotlit" with neon pink text highlighter.

I could relate with Ashley's experiences so much I almost felt like I was looking at a mirror when I was reading! The more I can relate with what's in a book, the more I like it, and I felt really close to Ashley, which means I really liked the book, much more than I was expecting.

She mentions a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfiction she wrote, and I tried to search for it online but couldn't find it - I wanted to at least leave a comment for her. If you don't know what fanfiction is, it's basically, well, fiction written by fans; you pick a fictional character - from any book, tv show, movie, game, anything you want - or a celebrity and write anything you can think of about them. I highlighted almost all of the fanfiction. I won't mention about my attempts at fantiction because I think they were really lame, and I took down almost all of it I had posted.

Not only fanfiction, but she mentions bands/artists/movies/websites that I also like, which helped me to identify with her - ok, as if her opinions similar to mine about lots of questions wouldn't be enough.

Ashley shares lots of personal experiences - including some really awkward and private ones, to say the least - and thoughts on many subjects; relationships, love, family, education, conspiracy theories, and so on. I really like it when an author writes honestly, and I felt this book to be as honest as the description from the back cover promises. It takes bravery to share some of the things she wrote here, and courage is an attribute I really admire - along with creativity and, again, honesty, that are some of the qualities I like in people.

For the ones who might want to know it: the book has a little bit of swearing ("Hell", "fuck/fucking", "shit" here and there), but, nothing that I thought offensive. I've read things with many more "dirty words" and it doesn't bother me.

A chapter that really stands out to me is the last one - it hasn't many personal experiences, but it's almost all about thoughts of the author on many things.

Really liked it.
