This book was a fun read.

It took me back to my teenage years, devouring tv series like Gossip Girl, and later, Pretty Little Liars.

If you like the writing of Jess Hastings, ( Magnolia Parks ) or Sara Shepard then you’ll probably enjoy this.

It’s unashamedly all about fashion, and blossoming relationships

The setting is the fictional Central Fashion College in London

And, #13 Walgrave Square, where a lot of the students live.

The main characters are :-

Frankie McLerran - budding jewellery designer and model.

Marina Kent - Painter, Fashion Designer

Travis - Photography Student

Rob Evan’s - who is involved in music and DJ’s

And.

Dublin born, Sinead - shoe and clothing designer.

Frankie, Marina, Sinead all live together at the above address.

While attending the College.

Marina and Rob are one of the couples along with the “ on again, off again “ Sinead and Travis

Frankie, however is the only single girl…

UNTIL!

One snowy night just before Christmas, she spots the uber tall guy sitting on a nearby wall, juggling snowballs.

His name, it turns out, is Wim.

Wim Van Bulow.

And this story deals primarily with his, and Frankie’s topsy Turvey relationship.

For Frankie, it’s all brand new because, while her fellow housemates are already paired up, she has always avoided boys to focus on her career.

Wim’s appearance, however , has TOTALLY SHOOK her.

So.

As she tries to pursue this new, tall absolutely, gorgeous, Dutchman, she soon realises he might not be as
“ all in “ as she is.

It’s all so confusing for her trying to navigate these new emotions, this new situation for her.

Wim, isn’t helping Frankie at all, as soon, he is discovered to be a PLAYER!

Juggling girls like the balls at the off beat circus he is part of.

Drama ensues at #13, when Sinead, Marina, Rob, and Travis all are witness to Wim’s behaviour on two separate occasions .

To Tell.

Or, not to Tell?

That is the question?

Because this isn’t going to end well for anyone concerned.

This was a light popcorn read.

Actually, #2 in a trilogy which I wasn’t aware of because I picked it up for $1 secondhand 🤷🏻‍♀️

( have since purchased the other books )

Only 229 pages, it’s very easy read

It surprised me to find that it was written in 2005!!!

A lot of the outfit descriptions, and events are still very relevant, and don’t appear to have aged at all.

For me, was a nice mood reprieve from reading my usual genre.

Like I said, it wasn’t a five star but, a pretty solid 3.5 👍

ARMANI ANGELS is the second book in the PROJECT FASHION series by Jasmine Oliver. This book picks up where GUCCI GIRLS left off. ARMANI ANGELS is a continuation of the first story and segues its way into the final story of the series, PRADA PRINCESSES. The story continues the antics and struggles of fashion school for Frankie, Sinead, and Marina.

Ms. Oliver writes a fun tale of three girls who have only met at the beginning of their first term of fashion school. Immediately they click and help each other as they deal with different crisis throughout the course of the story.

Sinead's mom owns the townhouse the girls are living in. Sinead is the understated beauty of the group but doesn't see herself as beautiful and doubts her designing ability. Throughout the story, she has an on again/off again relationship with Travis from across the square.

Marina is the outgoing girl in the group. She has a growing romance with Travis' roommate, Rob. Due to climbing debt, she takes a job bartending in the club where the gang likes to hang out at.

And Frankie is the reserved one. Always the one in the background, she somehow manages to get sucked into the world of modeling. Her modeling assignments start to interfere with her schoolwork and she must make a choice as to which path to follow.

The story is kept simple and light, without any real serious traumas happening to any of the individuals. Ms. Oliver delivers a fluffy tale of young girls on their own in the heart of London.

This was my first and last chick-lit read. For my personal reading challenge, I can finally say I read this genre (now I know why I don't read this stuff). Going back to literature of substance now.....

Definitely an upgrade from the first novel. I was tempted to go 3 stars, but couldn't quite get there. Improvements in writing, yay!
