If only it was just the two of them. Gavin is an ordinary boy from Essex. Stacey is an ordinary girl from South Wales. The result is a double BAFTA award-winning hit BBC comedy that has become the biggest show since "Little Britain." For the first time, Gavin, Stacey, and friends take us on their journey from Barry to Billericay. Fans will delight at materials such as Gavin and Stacey's family trees, character profiles, maps of Barry and Billericay with key sights and landmarks, Pam's favorite vegetarian recipes--including the cheese omelette, Nessa's secret diary--including how she really met John Prescott, Gavin and Stacey's e-mails before they met, Smithy's top nights out in Billericay, script extracts, jokes, quizzes, and crosswords. The making of the show is also detailed, including outtakes, the original treatment, unseen photos, and much more.
a funny, light hearted easy read. one of those books that, although is entertaining and fun, the layout makes it easy to put down, so ideal for train/car/bus journeys. a closer look and bit more back story on the characters, but alas, still no reveal on what happened on that bloody fishing trip!
Surprisingly good for a TV tie in/cash grab. Only one really big laugh for me, but the smaller ones were steady. More enjoyable than it deserved to be, but did drag occasionally. 3.5 stars rounded down.
I found myself laughing when reading it because you can hear the characters voices just by the way each section is written. I 100% recommend this book to every single Gavin and Stacey fan!
Read this on the way in to work as my brain wasn't up for anything taxing. It's pretty good for a tv companion book. They've put a fair bit of effort in.
This was really funny and a brilliant companion to the series. a must for any fan. more a scrapbook than a story. lots of funny little bits, like a Facebook profile page for the characters and Smithy's best man speech. Enjoyed and took little time to read.
