A short history of how Hello Kitty came to be followed by a pictorial of merchandise offered since 1974. Not comprehensive but still a delight for the 8-year-old girl in all of us. Especially those too poor to afford that little pencil box (sigh)...Oh, and she's 5 apples high which makes 2 apples taller than a smurf. True story!

The title is misleading. It's not quite everything Hello Kitty from her first twenty-five years, but it's a great start. It tells about her beginnings and a handful of her friends. That's when it turns into a pictorial of the various items available over the years. It's a good book for any Hello Kitty fan to have.

Cute book exhibiting lots of Helly Kitty merch. It was fun to look at but not great. I might have been biased by the scribbles found in my library copy. It also might have smacked a bit too much of rampant consumerism. Even for a hardcore Helly Kitty fan like me.
