Am găsit această carte printre multe altele de acest tip și m-am decis să le citesc, începând cu aceasta.
Las mai jos sinopsisul:
„Ușa de trântește și ea rămâne, sumar îmbrăcată, afară. O salvează noul ei vecin, un bărbat fascinant. Aventura polițistă în care sunt antrenați amândoi, îi apropie și ceea ce începuse ca o prietenie se transformă într-o dragoste dulce, matură.”
Când am început cartea știam la ce să mă aștept, o poveste de dragoste, dar totuși, eram curioasă să văd cum începe această idilă. Aveam nevoie de o carte ușoară pentru acest început de luna și vreau să spun că m-a scos din „reading slump”.
Recomand cartea celor peste 16 ani, nu are nimic obscen, nu sunt cuvinte deochiate (😅), dar sunt câteva scene mai aprinse.
Susan Sinclaire, asa cum îți sugerează și sinopsisul, rămâne blocată afară și nu știe cum va ieși din această situație. În timp ce încearcă să își dea seama cum să facă rost de chei, văzuse că o camionetă roșie cum se opri în colț, iar când observă și cine se dă jos din vehicul, rămase fără cuvinte. Era întruchiparea bărbatului perfect.
Cei doi au parte de întâlniri misterioase, iar când bunica lui Sin (așa spunea ea că îi spun prietenii) este furată tocmai de femeia care avea grija de ea, bărbatul (Ross) nu stă pe gânduri și face tot ce îi stă în putință să o ajute și să descopere cine e făptașul (până la urmă el era un Texan Ranger). Pentru a găsi vinovatul ei pornesc într-o aventură, finalul fiind cu happy end. Fiind adepta finalurilor triste, m-am bucurat să văd că la sfârșit toată lumea e fericită.
Știam că va fi o carte care se va citi ușor și asta mi-a plăcut. Începută și terminata în aceeași zi, a fost pentru mine o relaxare.
Pe alocuri m-a enervat comportamentul lui Ross, bărbatul care este ușor posesiv și vrea ca lucrurile să fie așa cum vrea el să fie și să demonstreze că femeia are nevoie de un bărbat lângă ea, să o ajute la orice.
Eu i-am acordat 4 ⭐, fiindcă mi se pare un pic trasă de păr, dar o recomand pentru o lectură ușoară.

This was the first book in the series ... I later tracked down the first and third book. This was my favorite of the series. I first read the series in the early 90s and am re-reading them now in order.
I saved them as a set to re read when I retired.
I will say this is a typical LOVE SWEPT BOOK and it follows the typical formula. It is a quick read ( less than 200 pages) for the beach or a winter's night in front of the fire. I like I can read it within one day while still doing my housework and chores.
The language and dialogue in the book is stereotypical TEXAS TWANG. I got on my nerves because when I lived in Texas I never knew anyone who talked like ROSS. Too many cliches. I subtracted one star just because of the hokey dialogue.... I did like how Ms Hudson highlighted so many Texas' landmarks and recreational areas, made me what to go back to visit the state again.
Characters: I really liked Susan Sinclaire the heroine probably because I feel she closely resembled me ... somewhat shy, introvert, a late bloomer; but smart and proactive. I am a feminist at heart and liked how she stood up to Ross; She got him to help her by being stubborn... it worked for me. Ross was a typical HOT GUY but I did like him a lot and I think his protectiveness was appropriate for the situation. I was especially fond of how Ross treated Dagna.
I like how their romance unfolded it was described enough to make you imagine but it was not explicit or tawdry.
PLOT: Plausible ...I think it could have occurred and the plot was logical ... shorten because LOVESWEPT ARE ROMANCE NOVELS ... not plot driven / crime dramas. I hate stories that rely on unrealistic scenarios and could not occur in real life. Logical conclusions but not telepathic connection between the two lovers. I enjoyed the quick read.
